Have a Characters of Manners

Man is like a mine. They were the best during the jahiliyah period, the best also in the Islamic period. Have two characters that have been applied by a friend in the era of jahiliyah, then also highlight in the Islamic period.

The friend was called Zaid Al-Khail during the time of Jahiliyah and during the time of Islam was called by Rasulullah SAW as Zaid Al-Khair.

Once during the time of Jahiliyah, Zaid Al-Khail pastored his sister's camels. Approximately one hundred tails. Towards Maghrib, Zaid, assisted by two of his men, tethered his camels near a tent made of leather. In the tent, there lived an old man named Muhalhil, the father of Zaid Al-Khail.

Neither Zaid nor his two aides were aware of the presence of an uninvited guest who had been lurking from behind a bush. The night is late, cold, and thick. Zaid Al-Khail and his two aides fell asleep exhausted after a day of herding camels. So did Zaid's father, Muhalhil.

In the darkness of the night, a shadow flashed near where the male camel was moored. He untied the camel's rope, and rode it out of the tent. The other camels followed the male camel.

Zaid realized his camels were gone when he woke up in the morning. Without a second thought, he grabbed the horse's harness and spurred it after the thief. By midday, Zaid had found traces of the thief. He also sped up his horse. Finally, Zaid Al-Khail managed to find the thief.

Feeling himself overtaken, the thief immediately descended from the male camel he was riding and tethered it to a dry tree. The thief pulled out an arrow and aimed at Zaid Al-Khail.

“Let go of that male camel!” zaid's orders from the back of his horse.

“No!” answer the thief.

“I left my family in Hirah (Iraq) hungry. I have sworn I will not return to them before I can bring them food or I die for it.”

“Let go of that male camel!” snapped Zaid repeated his orders. ”If you don't let go, I kill you.”

“No! I won't let go of that camel, no matter what!” challenge the thief while still aiming his arrows at Zaid Al-Khail.

Zaid Al-Khail said, ”Then stretch the ropes of the male camel. There are three knots. Show me which knot I should get.”

Finally, the thief allowed Zaid to shoot three knots in the camel rope. Turns out Zaid managed to shoot the three knots. The thief finally gave up, and the thief was taken by Zaid to his tent.

He said “If it were camels I would give it all for you, but take it easy, three more days there would be war, if our people won and got the spoils, I would give you”.

The thief also realized that the one who was talking was Zaid Al-Khalil, the good captor. Zaid promised that there would be a war in three days and Zaid was right.

Then Zayd got the spoils, 100 camels, and all were given to the thief.

The story of Muhammad's prophethood with the religion he brought to the ears of Zaid Al-Khail.

Seeing their arrival, the Prophet gave his speech to the Muslims who were in the mosque,

“I am better for the gentlemen than for the idols of Uzza and the number of idols that the gentlemen worship. I am better for elders than for black camels and than all the gentlemen besides Allah.”

After the Prophet finished his speech, Zaid Al-Khail stood among the Muslim worshippers, and said, “Yes Muhammad, I testify there is no God but Allah, and indeed you are the Messenger of Allah.”

The Prophet turned to him, and asked, “Who are you?”

“I Zaid Al-Khail bin Muhalhil,” replied.

Messenger of Allah SAW said, “Thou Zaid Al-Khair, not Zaid Al-Khail.”

Zaid Al-Khalil who has been renamed, “Alright I agree”

The Prophet said, “All praise be to Allah who brought you here from your village, and soften your hearts to accept Islam.”

Since then, Zaid Al-Khail has been known as Zaid Al-Khair. The Prophet brought him to his house accompanied by Umar bin Khathab and several other companions. They formed the halaqah assembly.

On that occasion, the Prophet said, “I have never known anyone who has a character like you, O Zaid. In you are two attributes that Allah and His Messenger like

“What is it, yes Rasulullah?” ask Zaid.

Prophet SAW replied, “Spatience and courtesy.”

“All praise be to Allah who has made me have the qualities that Allah and His Messenger like,”.

Zaid said to the Prophet SAW, “Give me three hundred deft horsemen. I promise to invade the Roman land and take the country out of their hands.”

Prophet Muhammad admired Zaid's ideals. Prophet SAW said, “Against your ideals, O Zaid. There is no one like you.”

Before fulfilling his goal, Allah SWT willed another against Zaid Al-Khair. During his stay in Medina, Zaid was exposed to a fever epidemic. Her body is hot. Soon he breathed his last breath, facing the Khaliq.

There was little time left for him after he converted to Islam, so there was no chance for him to sin. Zaid died shortly after declaring his Islam before the Prophet SAW.
