Stay With Qur'An
The Brave Adjutant

Qais bin Sa’ad bin `Abadah grew up in a family that prioritized morality. He was the son of Sa’ad bin `Ubadah, the leader of the Khazraj tribe in Yastrib (Madinah). Qais became a Muslim when he was a child. At that time, his father introduced him to the Prophet SAW.

Prophet Muhammad SAW impressed by Qais. Since then, the closeness of Qais with the Prophet continues to be well-established, one of Anas bin Malik's companions once said: Qais bin Sa’ad bin `The worship at the Prophet's side is like an adjutant.

Qais bin Sa’ad bin Ubadah is referred to as an adjutant of the Prophet who is very loyal to him.

Both before and after converting to Islam, Qais was known as a generous person but also intelligent, this made most of the population of Medina reluctant to him.

When the faith of Qais bin Sa’ad began to be ingrained in his heart, Qais changed his ability to deceive people towards the path of honesty.

He was indeed an expert and sensitive person in diplomatic language, so his interlocutors could comply with Qais' wishes. Once Qais bin Sa’ad said to his friends: “If there was no Islam, I would make a conspiracy that would not be answered by all Arabs.”

For him, Islam is the path to Allah's mercy SWT. Therefore, Qais was more consistent in practicing generosity as trained by his family.

For generations, Ibn Ubadah belonged to a generous family that often helped the people of Medina. In fact, the Prophet once said: Generosity is the nature of this family member (bani Ubadah).

For example, the family home of Sa’ad bin `The container often has several guards in front of it. They looked up and then called out to some passers-by. The goal is to invite passers-by to eat with the Sa’ad family.

A very famous saying among Ansars who want to eat fat and meat, stop at the fort of the village of Dulaim bin Harithah! Dulaim bin Haritsah was the great-grandfather of Qais bin Sa’ad.

The rather drastic change in personality of Qais bin Sa’ad bin Ubadah made the people of Medina respect him even more. His relatively young age, with his delicate facial appearance, did not have a beard. However, appearance is not a problem for men who always do good for their people. Despite his young age, the Ansar regarded Qais as its leader.

One day, Qais bin Sa’ad bin Ubadah was ready to give a loan to his friend who was in trouble. Some time ago, this friend lived just to pay his debt. But Qais politely declined: “We do not want to take back what has been given,” he said.

Spiritual Battle In addition to his generous nature and intelligence, Qais bin Sa’ad bin Ubadah is famous for his high fighting mentality. When Muhammad was alive, there was no jihad in which Qais did not participate. If his language is common in diplomacy, Qais's steps and sword thrusts do not hesitate to attack God's enemies, He is always ready to accept any task with an open heart.

About the struggle of Qais bin Sa’ad bin Ubadah and his family, Rasulullah once said, “ generosity became the character of this family!” He was a clever and clever man who showed his wiles, his skill, and his ingenuity.

Even He once said honestly about himself, “If it were not for Islam, I could make a ruse that no Arab could match!” because, he is a very intelligent, resourceful, and brain-dilute.

At the events of the Shiffin War, he stood on Ali's side against Mu’awiyah. At that time he planned for himself a ruse that might destroy Mu’awiyah and his followers one day or someday.

Only, when he re-examined the ruse that had racked his intelligence, did he realize that it was a dangerous evil ruse. He also remembered the word of God:

For pride (them) on the face of the earth and for evil (them) plans. The evil plan will not befall anyone but the one who plans it himself. There is nothing they look forward to except (the coming) of the Sunnah (God) to the ancients. You will never be substituted for the Sunnah of Allah, and you will not (in any case) encounter any deviation from the Sunnah of Allah. QS:Faathir: Verse: 43

He immediately canceled the plan and asked God for forgiveness. At that time he said: “For the sake of Allah, if Mu’awiyah can defeat us later, his victory is not because of his intelligence, but because of our piety and piety.”

This Ansari youth of the Khazraj tribe came from a large family who passed on the noble qualities of a great leader, and When Sa’ad converted to Islam, he took his son Qais bin sa’ad and handed it to the Prophet, by saying: “This is your servant, yes Rasulullah.” The Prophet saw in Qais all the signs of virtue and goodness.

Therefore, he immediately hugged her and brought her close to him, after which Qais became someone who was always close to her.

Before converting to Islam, Qais bin Sa’ad treated people with all his cunning and they were helpless against his cunning. There was no one in and around the city of Medina who did not hear this information and they were very vigilant.

And after converting to Islam, Islam teaches it to treat people fairly and not cunningly. He also became one of the young men who were obedient to Islam who then put aside their deceit and did not repeat the previous custom.

Every time he was faced with a difficult case and remembered his old practice, he immediately came to his senses and said the words he was told to us: “If it were not for Islam, it was not for Islam, I will concoct a conspiracy that cannot be matched by Arabs. .”

Moreover, his courage was in all the battlefields where he fought with the Prophet while he was alive. And it was still known in the battles he fought after his death.

Courage is always based on truth and honesty not deception and deceit, openly and face to face, not behind the spread of rumors or malicious trickery, which of course forced the perpetrators to endure severe suffering.

Because Qais put aside his extraordinary talent for cunning and tongue-tin diplomacy, and openly and sincerely turned to the character of a brave man. He is satisfied with this new attitude and is ready to bear its consequences and difficulties.

True courage comes from the lightness of one's own heart, not from lust and profit, but from sincerity and the recognition of truth.

It is clear that when there is a dispute between Ali and Mu’awiyah, we see that Qais prefers to seclude himself and continue to seek the truth in the cracks of his stability.

Finally, when he saw that the truth was on Ali's side, he immediately got up and stood boldly, firmly by his side, and was about to fight to the death.

In the battlefields of Shiffin, Jamal and Nahrawan, Qais is one of the heroes who fought without fear of death. He carried the Ansar flag while shouting: This flag is the flag of unity. Warring with the Prophet and Gabriel as a helper. Do not be afraid if only the Ansar demands, and no one else is a supporter.

Ali appointed Qais bin Sa’ad as governor of Egypt. However, Mu’awiyah's eyes were always fixed on that area. He saw Egypt as the most precious jewel of diamonds and the crown he so desired.

Therefore, as soon as Qais occupied the position of emir in the region, Mu’awiyah was worried that Qais would be a lasting barrier to her efforts in Egypt, even if he later defeated Ali ibn Abi Talib in a decisive victory.

Mu’awiyah then tried to arouse the anger of Ali ibn Abi Talib against Qais with deceit that was not limited to one form of – until finally Ali ibn Abi Talib called him from Egypt. In that context, Qais has a good chance of using his intelligence for planning.

Because of his intelligence, he knew that Mu’awiyah had slandered him after he failed to get Qais on his side to fight Ali bin Abi Talib and used his leadership to help Mu’awyah.

To break this deception, Qais strengthened his support for Ali ibn Abi Talib and truth on his part. Ali ibn Abi Talib was the leader who at that time became a refuge of loyalty and firm faith from Qais bin Sa’ad bin Ubadah.

So Qais did not feel at all that Ali had sent him from Egypt. Qais has no regional importance, rank, leadership or status. All of this was just a way for him to devote himself to protecting his faith and religion.

If the emir's position in Egypt is a way of committing to the truth, his defense of Ali ibn Abi Talib on the battlefield is another thing that is equally important and admirable.

Qais' courage reached the peak of his honesty and maturity after Ali ibn Abi Talib was martyred and Al-Hasan took the oath of office. Qais regarded Al-Hasan as Amirul Mu’min according to Sharia, so Qais was also loyal to him and supported Al-Hasan as a protector despite the dangers he faced.

When Mu’awiyah forced them to draw a sword, Qais rose to lead five thousand soldiers, their heads shaved and all mourning Ali's death. However, succumbed and wanted to bandage the wounds of the Muslims who had become so serious, ordering them to end the war that claimed their lives and property, then negotiate with Mu’awiyah, he said, and then pledged allegiance to Mu’ awiyah.

At that moment, Qais bin Sa’ad began to reconsider the matter. In his view, although Al-Hasan's position was correct, he still led the Qais army and the latter's choice was the result of a decisive decision.

He gathered them all together and then spoke to them: “If you want a war, I will stay with you until death taking one of us first. But if you decide to reconcile, I will take action for it.”

His army chose another, then he took refuge in Mu’awiyah, who was willing to give his all, because he saw the winds of fate blowing to save him from the most powerful, most difficult and most dangerous enemy.

In 59 A. D., Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, a brilliant figure whose cunning was controlled by Islam, died. The deceased is a famous person who once said: “If I do not hear the Messenger say: ‘Silver scams and tricks are in Hell.'” I will definitely be the most cunning person among those people.

He left behind a fragrant name as a trustworthy person in all duties, in promise and loyalty to Islam.

Qais bin Sa’ad bin Ubadah with all his intelligence and honesty in fighting for the religion of Islam and his loyalty to the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Hopefully helpfully!
