Stay With Qur'An
The Exterminator of False Prophet

Among the series of names of friends of the Prophet Muhammad from the Muhajirin, the name Zaid bin Khattab was recorded. He was a brother of Umar bin al Khattab. Zayd embraced Islam first than his younger brother, Umar. Zaid is a mujahid who is much closer to Allah SWT.

His full name is Zaid bin Khattab bin Nufail bin Abdul ‘Uzza bin Rayyah bin Abdullah bin Qirth bin Razah bin Adi bin Ka’ab bin Lu`ay bin Ghalib bin Fihr al Qurasy Al Adawy. He is also known as Abu Abdirrahman. His mother was Asma bintu Wahb bin Abib, from Bani Asad bin Khuzaimah. Zaid was a descendant of Bani ‘Adi, the Quraysh tribe of the Kinanah clan.

When there was an order for the Muslims to emigrate to Madinah, without a second thought Zaid emigrated to Medina with Umar, Ayyasy, Abu Rabi’ah, Khunais bin Hadzaqah as-Sahmi, husband of Hafshah bint Umar, Khunais bin Hadzaqah as-Sahmi, Sa’id bin Zaid. In the group, there were also four children of Bukair, namely Iyas, Aqil, Amir, Khalid, who was a descendant of the Banu Laits al Kinaniyah.

When he arrived in Medina, Zaid met with Rifa’ah bin Abdul Mundzir in Quba, and then the Prophet of Law brokered between Zaid and Ma’an bin Adi al ‘Ajlani, al Anshari. Be, eternal brotherhood intertwined because of Islam, far from worldly interests. Both were martyred in the battle of Yamamah.

Zaid has a high body posture. The speciality of his body shape makes it easy to recognize even from a long distance. In addition to including the earliest converts to Islam, he also included friends who participated in the battlefields of Badr, Uhud, Khandaq, also followed Bai’atur Ridwan and followed the peace agreement in Hudaibiyah. Zayd always followed the war afterwards, either with the Prophet SAW or with the Caliphs after the Prophet SAW.

The story of Zaid's heroic heroism began when the Prophet Muhammad SAW sat surrounded by a number of Muslims. The unexpected thing was revealed by the Prophet Muhammad SAW in the midst of his conversation. At that time, the Prophet of the Holy Spirit was dumbstruck and silent for a while, then continued and directed his words to all his friends who sat around him.

Everyone present gasped in surprise when he said, “Truly, among you is a man whose molar in hell is greater than Mount Uhud.”

After the Prophet said the sentence, all the friends were filled with fear, worried that after that they would commit violations of religious teachings. All the friends present felt afraid and worried in case they were the ones who would get su’ul khatimah.

After the incident, the friends who attended and heard firsthand what was revealed by the Prophet Muhammad were increasingly careful and vigilant to always do the Islamic orders and avoid the prohibition.

Over the course of time, most of the friends who heard the talk of the Prophet at that time had picked up death. All who first faced Allah SWT met his end with the husnul khatimah, died as martyrs on the battlefield. They survived the prophecy of the Prophet SAW. There are two surviving people, Abu Hurairah and Rajjal bin Unfuwah. One of them must be meant by the Prophet SAW.

There was great fear and worry for Abu Hurairah. Friend who most narrates the hadith of the Prophet of the SAW his body often shakes, his eyes are difficult to close, his mind is always bright considering the place and the prophecy of the Prophet of the SAW that he believes must happen, he said, even more worrying because all that remains is himself and Rajjal bin Unfuwah.

Once Abu Hurairah was relieved, the veil was revealed, it was clear who exactly the Prophet SAW, the wretched hypocrite. After the death of the Prophet, when Abu Bakr became the successor caliph of the Prophet, when the trend of false prophets occurred, Rajjal came out of Islam and joined Musailamah al Kadzdzab and recognized his prophethood. Now it is clear who is rumored Prophet SAW will get su’ul khatimah.

Long before the Prophet died, Rajjal bin Unfuwah met the Prophet of SAW to comply and convert to Islam. But his cooperation with the Prophet was only for a moment, after making his allegiance and declaring his conversion to Islam, he returned to his people. Never came again to Medina, except after the Prophet died and Abu Bakr became Caliph.

As Caliph, Abu Bakr had heard the news that the people of Yamamah joined the Musailamah who declared themselves to be prophets. Rajjal, who was still in Medina, offered to Abu Bakr to send them to wake them up and return to Islam, and Musailamah is a false Prophet because there is no Prophet and Apostle after the Messenger of Allah SAW. The proposal was accepted by the Caliph.

Rajjal immediately went to Yamamah as the emissary of the caliph. Unfortunately, his faith was too weak and porous. When he saw the number of followers of Musailamah very much, he became cowardly and convinced that the army of Islam will not win. Cowardly attitudes supported by the whispers of his treacherous soul dragged him to join the ranks of Musailamah al Kadzdzab. At that time he also apostatized, out of Islam and joined the apostates under the banner of Musailamah, the false Prophet.

As an emissary of the Caliph who defected, Rajjal was far more dangerous than Musailamah. On behalf of the Caliph, he brainwashed or brainwashed by spreading to many people that he had heard the Prophet SAW saying, “Nabi made Musailamah bin Habib as a partner.”

Musailamah's followers are increasing in number. The news of the traitorous and apostate Rajjal reached Madinah and provoked the anger of the Muslims. Rajjal's brainwash style successfully misled many people who automatically expanded the area of war that inevitably had to be occupied by mauslimins.

A Muslim retainer who was most furious and eager to meet Rajjal was a great friend whose name was engraved beautifully in the history books, namely Zaid bin Khattab. For Zaid bin Khattab, Rajjal is more dangerous than Musailamah. His apostasy was not because he believed Musailamah to be a Prophet, but because there were benefits he wanted to obtain. For this reason, he became a liar, a hypocrite, and an opportunist. Zaid hated hypocrisy and lies. Just like his brother, Umar. The hatred will be even more peaked when the hypocrisy is done just because it wants to take pseudo-profit.

For these low goals, Rajjal played his evil role, so the number of Musailamah followers increased sharply. Thus, he has led them to despicable death and destruction, dying in the field of “War Murtad”.

At first they were brainwashed, misled, and then destroyed. For what purpose? The greed hidden in the frame is beautifully stunning. Together with other Muslim armies, in order to perfect his faith, Zaid prepared himself to quell this chaos. The target is not Musailamah, but more evil and more dangerous than Musailamah, Rajjal bin Unfuwah.

To combat Musailamah and his followers, Caliph Abu Bakr appointed Khalid bin Walid as commander of the Islamic forces. This pengginas, masterful, strategist and brave warlord soon assembled an army of Islam. His troops were grouped into several squads with their respective tasks. Khalid gave the flag of the army to Zaid bin Khattab.

Two armies faced each other, ready to save lives. With a strangulation of words takbir and shouting blaringly mention the name of the Prophet SAW. The Islamic forces in high spirits stormed like a tidal wave. Bani Hanifah, followers of Musailamah welcomed Islamic troops and fought desperately. Islamic forces were defeated and many died as martyrs. Zaid who carried the army flag saw the mental and fighting spirit of the Islamic troops began to decline. Soon he climbed a high place, with a loud voice calling out to his troops,

“O soldiers of God, don't be daunted! Enemy combat! Attack them all out! By Allah, I will not speak again until they are destroyed by Allah or I meet Him and give my reasons

After that, Zaid went down. His sword was clasped tightly, his molars were trembling, his lips were clenched not moving his tongue to utter a single word. He intends to hunt Rajjal, because according to him, the key to this war is in the hypocritical figure. With some Islamic soldiers, like darts, he broke through enemy lines, looking for Rajjal. Until finally, he saw it.

Unfortunately, the rampage of war involving thousands of soldiers, making it difficult to get close to Rajjal who was in the middle of his army. Rajjal himself took refuge behind the Musailamah army that was fighting against the Islamic forces. Every time Zaid tried to approach him, as much as he lost Rajjal was swallowed up by the sea of men. But Zaid was not the type of soldier to give up easily. With the skill of his weapons, he continued to tear apart the enemy's encirclement, the enemy forces that dared to approach and prevent him sprawled to find his death in vain.

In the end, Zaid managed to get close to Rajjal. A one-on-one fight ensues between Zaid and Rajjal. But Zaid was not a match, only a few moments when the war was going on, Zaid managed to break the resistance of Rajjal. The apostate and hypocritical figure full of arrogance, lies, and decay finally collapsed drenched in blood with a gaping wound on his neck the former sword of Zaid.

The death of Rajjal brought bad consequences for Musailamah's forces, the flag of his army began to fall. Musailamah is anxious, confused and daunted. So did Muhkam bin Thufail and his entire army.

Previously, Musailamah had promised a real victory and together with Rajjal bin Unfuwah and Muhan bin Thufail would lead them to a glorious future by spreading their religion and building their government. Now Rajjal is dead. Musailamah's prophethood is a lie. Tomorrow it's Muhkam's turn to die and the day after Musailamah's turn. Thus, Zayd ibn Khattab had caused great destruction in the ranks of Musailamah.

Unlike the enemy forces, when knowing the death of Rajjal, the morale and fighting spirit of the Islamic forces increased many times until the wounded also rose again with his sword without caring for the blood dripping from his body. In fact, those who had been on the lips of death, who had no sign of life except for an eye gesture, when the glad tidings reached their ears, they felt it like a good dream. They are eager to be given the strength to go back to war and witness a glorious victory at the end of their lives.

Zayd ibn Khattab raised his hands to heaven, glorified his Lord, and gave thanks for His favor. After that, he returned to his sword and his silence, for he had vowed not to speak until victory was truly achieved or he himself became martyred.

The Islamic army has the upper hand. Victory is very close. At that time, Zaid hoped that Allah SWT would give him martyrdom in this Yamamah War. A happy end to life, which he had been looking for. The fragrance of heaven felt, making him more longing and his determination more burning. Without feeling tired and fearless, he kept crashing into the enemy ranks, shaking his sword in search of his grand ideals. And, finally, the hero of Islam bravely died as a martyr.
