ACIEL'S DIARY : INDIGO

ACIEL'S DIARY : INDIGO
CHAPTER 1.8: THE REQUEST OF THE GOD

I released the Technique to hold the fox, extended my hand towards one of its heads and touched the bottom of its mouth, slightly lifting it up and bringing it closer to my face.

He no longer looked at me with hatred. Rather, it was a gaze that signaled an extremely strong sadness and frustration.

But neither of them were directed at me, it led to something very far away. Maybe that's the thing he's pointing at himself.

The fox collapsed on the ground, with its slightly shrunken body along with the golden-colored smoke coming out from the crack of its fur.

"You, how far do you know? There's no way you're hearing it from my partner. I also don't remember ever having a contract with you, how did you know that?"

"I also don't know how this works but I saw it all through my dreams. It happened the night after I met you three days ago. Even so, it was not that I could instantly understand all the situations. I only understood everything when my Master explained a few things about you, then linked each line of events in my dream and made a conclusion. That's all it is."

I let go of the handle on the Fox and sat in front of it. Somehow it felt like the atmosphere around us had softened enough, I didn't feel like he was going to attack me again.

"the dream? You said you saw a dream that showed my past? You really said that, right? Can you explain the details in the dream?"

"Huh? Oh ... Could anyway. But it's long enough, are you sure?"

The sudden interest shown from the Fox made me a little confused and answered quickly without thinking. But I myself already do not remember some part of the dream that was seen.

The dream is very long anyway.

"Yes, you can tell me, after all we have enough time here. Since you said the dream was long enough, how many months can you tell me everything until it's over?"

"uh? No, I just need an hour for that. One month is too long."

"Aren't you the one who said that the dream you saw was very long?"

"Yes, but not that long to the point of having to spend months telling it. Whatever it is, I just need an hour."

Humans and spirits have different perceptions of time, which makes this kind of misunderstanding possible. However one year for the Spirits feels like one day, they will not feel if it is a long time.

"Is that so? I see, then you can tell me ... Ah, one more thing. Boy, you can call my name."

"Eh? Are you sure? Is not the name something very important to the Spirits?"

"It's okay, after all you've called my name before. At least it's better than calling me 'you' or 'change'. Boy, you can call me Ebi. Don't call me Nebi."

"Well, I'll call you Eebi. Um! Eebi, I'll start the story."

"Hey, don't put on such an embarrassed expression. What the fuck are you?! Are you ashamed just for calling my name?! Basic disgusting!! This is why humans cannot be expected!"

"No, no!! You misunderstood me!! How do I explain it?! Ah, that's right too!! This is the first time anyone has asked me to call her name. I don't know why it feels like making a friend."

"I'm not your friend. Even if there is a relationship between us, then I will make you a man. At the very highest, maybe I can give you a position as a student ... Oi!! I told you to stop that expression!! Disgusting, you know?!"

"Hehehehehe!! I'm sorry, I'm just too happy."

"Ah stop!! Quickly start the story!!"

That way, I started telling the dream I saw about three days ago. And since I don't remember some of the parts, I'm just going to tell you something I remember and connect it.

Even so, Ebi understood the story I was telling well. He listened very seriously and nodded to indicate that he understood.

Unfeelably, thirty minutes passed. It's faster than I expected.

On the other hand Ebi who listened to everything, lowered all her head with each of her ears that were down to relax. But the corner on his mouth slightly rose, displaying a helpless smile.

"You really see everything clearly, it makes me remember everything a little bit. It's a great ability that heaven has given you, you should be grateful."

"Everything given to you must have a price worth what you have to pay. It also goes the other way, surely you will understand what you will get in the future after experiencing all the suffering due to that ability. At least, it wasn't all in vain."

Entertainment ... No, his words didn't feel like entertainment. I can feel the weight inside.

Well, after all we both bear something that we do not want, surely Ebi also feels some of the same things as me.

"Thank you, that helped me a lot. So, what about you? Do you still want to destroy every human you meet?"

I tried to tease her a little with a ignorant smile, Ebi immediately replied to her with a small laugh then looked towards the sky covered with stars and moonlight.

"For four hundred years, the God we serve has always attended our sealed place every year without ever passing through it. As he approached us filled with fear and anger, our God always began his words by begging for forgiveness and apologizing for representing every human being. Then he tells some boring stories about the seasons, jokes of the Spirits or tells of our comrades who have disappeared because the Energy has been absorbed by the Seal."

Ebi lowered her head, every eye on her nine heads let out a tear, draining it and dripping on the cold surface of the grass.

"Our god keeps doing it, no matter how many times it is. Even as his strength weakened as the humans worshipping him began to wane, he never stopped. Arriving in the last year, he told us that he had run out of energy and that was the last time he would visit us."

"When that happened, he bowed and kowtowed, shouting while crying for the last time. A very loud and deep cry, not even I could bear to see her appearance back then. The figure of the great God we serve, looks so small and fragile. I can't stand to see it."

"It made my sorrow deeper, and burned my anger and hatred in me to man even greater. Why do we have to experience all this? Why would the God we serve have to bow our heads to his servant? Why would Kitsu betray us? All those questions are driving me crazy. But I can't betray the request that our God has been begging for four hundred years."

"In the end, I decided to ponder over all of that for a hundred years, until I met you who accidentally opened the seal that locked me up. At that moment I understood something, that I could no longer attack humans. What I did to you before was just venting out the momentary anger that was on me. Boy, I'm sorry."

Apparently so. The God that Ebi served, was very good but at the same time, he was also a very cruel God. But at least I don't think what he did was a mistake.

If I see that beautiful golden feather covered in blood from a disgusting human, it will nevertheless make my heart feel very sick. It hurts even more than seeing them all sealed, I can understand that.

How else, right? The fox spirit looks very beautiful.

"Ebi, you have a very good God." I said, with a smile.

Ebi just closed her eyes and nodded.

"Yes, he's the best god I've ever met."

Just as Ebi said that, a strong wave of wind appeared around us and in a matter of two, something attacked Ebi and threw her body to the side.

It was black, with a weapon in its hand.

"Huh?"

I still don't understand what's going on but surely the black figure won't wait for me until I can do it. Another attack was directed at me.

The forest and mountains were filled with moonlight tonight, which made the surrounding scenery so clear. The black figure came up to me and threw something at me.

I lost the momentum to escape.

Made her attack hit my chest hard, but it didn't hurt at all. Putting that aside, greenish-black smoke puffs began to appear from all over my body.

All that black smoke gathered on the sky, forming a sphere and exploding. Bring up a familiar figure behind it.

"Aciel! Are you all right?!" A deep voice, a dignified voice.

"Master, I'm fine." My reply was brief, in a slow tone.

Of course, I still can't understand what's going on here.
