SHEET 5.9: TRIPLE BOND

An offer to become an assistant to a Spirit Exterminator.

Honestly, I never thought I would get something like that in my life. Therefore even though I asked for time to answer it, until now I still do not know what kind of answer I should give.

It has been two days since I asked for time to give an answer.

For now, my interest is divided into 30% interested in its offerings as a form of experience and learning. Then 70% rejected it because it would probably get me involved in a lot more troublesome things than the Spirit.

Of course, I understand very well that everything I have to get has a price and risk on the side but I don't want to be involved with something like that right now.

After I had gotten a lot of help from the Master and had acquaintances within the Frouya Society, I began to think that the Spirits were not so bad and my impression of them began to improve.

Moreover, the trouble the Spirits caused was something that only people like me could see. If I get into trouble with Spirits and ordinary people see me then, they will only judge me as a freak.

Not more and less. It was annoying but I was used to it.

But it's different if I have business with the Spirit Exterminator, because after all they are also human beings just like me. Master might be able to drive them away if it bullies me but I won't let it kill humans.

Unlike the Spirits that would disappear into particles of light, the slain human body would always be left behind.

And involving myself with the humans in the Spirit world as the exterminator of the Spirit will certainly make things even more complicated because of the identity my mother has and the fact that I have an association filled by the Spirit to gather information.

No wonder if a Spirit Exterminator knew that fact, then I might be stamped as a spy to observe their movements and report everything to the Spirits. It is possible that people close to me will also be involved.

Even so, the idea of where I could obtain a lot of information that was only shared among the Spirit Exterminators was also not something bad. I want all of that as a form of self-protection.

Although it was very confusing, after asking for time to think about it for these two days, I guess it was time for me to give an answer.

"I will reject his offer and keep my position neutral. In the end, being on those two lines is the best for me right now."

It made the two girls beside me turn their attention to me. I shook my head to respond, putting bread in my mouth.

Ella and Mona, for some reason lately they've both started following me around the break and snatched my place for lunch. We were currently behind the building, eating our food while looking at the burning garbage in front.

I tried to avoid them but they were both really persistent, and in the end it made me give up and let them do whatever they wanted. From what Ella said, it was Mona who invited her to do this.

And when I asked Mona which one she meant, Ella replied that it was a request from the quiet Mona. I was hard enough to believe it but after seeing her comfortably eating the rice stock beside me, all I could do was trust her.

"Mona, take this one loaf, I bought it too much."

I spread the plastic with some bread, brought it closer to Mona. The girl hesitated a little at first but she immediately picked it up.

As more than three days have passed, Mona's personality returns to its origins. She is currently a shy girl.

"Yeah, Y-Yeah .... Th-Thank you."

Was she really the same girl who had already patted hard on my back then laughed cheerfully two days ago? By the time I got used to her cherry personality, she was back to being genuine and shy.

Well, that's not a bad thing anyway. She's still pretty anyway. Although it was quite difficult, I had to put in a little effort to get used to it.

On the other hand, Ella also remained the same as usual. At first I thought of her as a scary girl but actually she was the one who used to say things for what they were.

In the end, the three of us formed a friendship.

I touched my face curiously, pressing a few dots. Ella began to open her mouth to give her opinion.

"Oh? If you see it more clearly Mona is right, your face looks more stupid than usual. What's going on?"

From the gaze she let out, I could tell if Mona was worried about me when she asked me that before but in Ella's case, this girl only intended to mock me.

Rather than worry, his face looked radiant.

"No, actually nothing special happened."

But does my face look moody? I did think about quite a lot of things during these two days because of the strange painter's offer, I didn't expect that Mona would notice. It makes me a little happy because he's watching me.

But making him worry any further was a bad thing. Telling him about the offer was also not an option, I had to look for another alternative as a way out.

And at that moment, an inspiration came to me.

"There is no particular incident that happened anyway .... It's just that the black cat I was caring for at home peed on my folding mattress this morning and it made my mood pretty bad."

"Damn it! How dare you say something dirty like that while we're eating! Don't continue it again! I've really no interest in hearing it!!"

As I said that, as expected Ella immediately shouted furiously at me. The reaction made me laugh a little.

"Bwhahahaha—!! But aren't you also curious and asking me?"

"Sorry~ sorry~ I'll stop so don't hit my arm like that."

I could indeed distract her from Ella with that but Mona did not laugh, instead the gaze she gave became stronger. He must have known it was a lie.

Even so, I still won't tell him anyway. Making your friend worry about unnecessary things like this is not a good thing. At least I'll believe that.

Mona can see the Spirit but that only applies to a small part, she cannot access the larger view. That's why there's no reason for me to drag him down.

In the end, a peaceful life without anything happening is best. At least, I can still maintain this day-to-day.
