We got to the Cafe I recommended, sat at one of the tables by the side of the room to avoid the crowds and ordered drinks and snacks. After the waiter delivered everything, Brother Ren started it.
He put his elbows on the table and clenched his hands together, covered his mouth and looked straight at me. It looked like the pose of a supreme commander of the national army.
Despite that, the spirit girl in the servant clothes beside her shattered the picture. The girl just kept quiet and looked out the window, it is better for me to ignore her.
"Alright, Aciel. I did say that the rejection you gave for the offer was something natural but I think you are still a little rushed about it. That's why I want you to rethink it after getting some firsthand experience as a Spirit exterminator."
I picked up the teacup while listening to her explanation, drank it and put it back on the table. Knock on the table a few times with my finger and look at Ren's brother.
Our eyes met each other.
"Is that something you want to talk to me about right now?"
"No, this is something related to that. It just so happens that I have a job on extermination to complete, I want you to look at it up close and learn everything yourself. Then for whatever decision you're gonna make, I'm gonna take it."
In other words, this fellow asked me to apprentice with him for a moment, huh? Looking at everything up close and making a re-decision, I didn't think it would be that easy to change my mind.
"Sir Ren, why did you have to go so far? After knowing that, what I feel from you now is just a strong suspicion. I can't find a single reason for you to do it."
"Reason, huh? The fact that you have quite a large Spiritual Energy and an attractive personality is something that I value highly but more than all that, I was hoping that at least you would know where you stand right now."
"Where am I standing? Whatchu mean?"
"Aciel. Rather than humans, I feel that you are more inclined to the Spirits. And of course, it's not a good thing. Spirits are troublesome existences and always cause a lot of trouble wherever they are. I want you to realize that and make a choice for yourself."
This person, he said something as cruel as that right next to his servant Spirit, on the other hand that Spirit was also completely unperturbed. So you see, the two already understand each other, huh?
But this makes me a little unhappy, how could this fellow sum up just like that if I sided with the Spirits? It was as if deciding even though I didn't really think that way.
What I was on the side was neither human nor spirit, from the start all I wanted was a quiet life and to keep all the trouble away. So for a matter of taking sides like this, I'm not leaning too much on one side.
If they bother me, then I will fight them. And if they extend their hands to me, then I will repay them. No matter the Spirit or man, in my eyes they are both the same. Both parties have their own negative and positive sides. That's a natural thing.
That's why I don't really care. But of course I can't tell him all this. This guy won't understand.
At least that's how I feel about him.
"So, what kind of plan have you prepared to make me think that the Spirit is a disturbing existence?"
I said it with a faint smile, which she replied with another smile. It pisses me off myself because this guy is completely unaffected by the provocation.
On the other hand, it was the servant girl who was hooked. The expression on his face had started to change, with both of his eyes glaring at me, along with some veins on his face popping out.
Frighteningly.
"I just want you to help me with my job just this once. Take it easy, I didn't plan anything bad for you."
I knew I should have stopped to give him more provocation than this but anyway, I couldn't help it anymore.
After drinking the tea on the glass until it ran out, I looked at Brother Ren and smiled once more, trying to lure him in.
"Is that so? Unfortunately I'm not too sure about that."
But this man's expression did not change at all and still smiled at me. The one who is caught is the Spirit beside him.
"Lord man, I tried to hold back but you kept throwing insults at my master. It's unforgivable! I will teach you a lesson and regret for insulting my master!!"
The girl's hair extended out, reaching my body but I immediately blocked it with my hands, making both of them tightly coiled and pulling my body.
"Urghh—!!"
Being unable to withstand the force that was pulling my body, made me fall on the table and nudge the empty glass, then break it. Then a servant came to ascertain the situation.
"Sir, is there a problem?"
"Ah nothing, my friend just lack sleep and collapsed on the table. I'm sorry but can you get me a cloth to clean his desk?"
"Ah, fine! I'll be right back."
Brother Ren handled it well, and the servant left immediately.
Even so, he did nothing to his servant Spirit who attacked me and it made me even more annoyed with him. After seeing me slump on the table for a while, he finally touched his Spirit shoulder.
"Alright~ alright~ is enough, don't act as you please. Even though he was young, he was still the precious friend I had. We better not be rude to her."
"The rude one is you."
But suddenly there was another voice replying to the words of Brother Ren. With a bit of anger mixed in it.
"Don't take my prey to go with you, you little boy."
It was the Master, from when he was already on the table, staring intently at Ren's brother.
"Arrghh—!!"
And a moment after, an extremely dazzling green light emerged from his body and filled the line of sight of my eyes. What I could catch was the agonized scream of the Spirit girl with her silhouette of shadow that went towards Ren's instep and disappeared.
In a few moments, the sight on my eyes returned to its original state with all the hair that had wrapped around my body disappearing. Only leaving a considerable sense of surprise that appeared on Ren's frozen face.
"Aciel, what is that thing beside you?"
But before I could answer the question he gave me, a servant came in with a washcloth in his hand and smiled.
"Sorry, sir. But you're not allowed to bring a cat inside, there's already a warning sign on the door."
Due to the large number of sequences of events occurring in such a short period of time, it took a bit of effort for my brain to be able to digest them all.
"Urghh—!! Stupid boy, what are you doing?!"
I instantly picked up the black cat sitting leisurely on the table and lowered my head at the waiter. Then a little look at Ren's sister and run out.
"Ah, I'm sorry. I'll be gone soon! Then brother Ren, I'll be waiting for you in front."
"Oh ... Yeah, I get it."
Brother Ren tried to stop my steps but the shock that was still left on him made his voice not come out to the maximum. I waited for him in front of the cafe while saying many things to this black cat.
