CHAPTER 52 | Hill of Death – Spirit-sucking Monsters

The faces of the villagers became frightened, they shivered when they learned that the real cause of death of the victims was witchcraft.

Xiaozi looked at the former palms on the chests of those victims, “Qiongqi, Wuya, please look for the trace of that person from the former palms of these” Xiaozi ordered on them

“Good tuan” said Qiongqi after hearing the assignment from Xiaozi to him.

Qiongqi was a ferocious beast that had also a keen sense of smell, he could smell that was even tens of miles away. While Wuya is a crow that specializes in recognizing dead bodies and death, they know everything if the existence of death is around them.

Qiongqi approached the corpses then brought her face closer to the palm mark, as did Wuya. Then they stood up as soon as they felt enough to identify it.

Qiongqi and Wuya then ran out of the house and started moving towards the Spirit Forest.

“Xiaozi, do we not need to follow the two of them?” he Xian asked after seeing the departure of Qiongqi and Wuya.

Xiaozi then sat down at the table of the house, “Near by night, I hope the residents can return to their homes and hide. Leave the monster to us” Xiaozi said

“Good. Thank you mr. hunter” said the residents together while looking down and went from that place back to their respective homes to hide.

“He Xian, get ready. Use your magic to set up trap traps as well as protectors around this village” Xiaozi said.

He Xian then went around the village to set a magic trap trap as well as a protector outside the residents' house.

“Then what am I doing?” shan Mui asked Xiaozi.

“You cook a good one for us to eat before they return. Later we can eat together” Xiaozi said.

Chen Yan then went to the kitchen with Shan Mui to help her cook.

Only Xiaozi remained sitting alone in the middle of the living room with the door of the house deliberately opened by him to lure the monster to come.

Xiaozi sat in meditation to regulate his breathing and exert his sense of hearing and smell to detect if something changes in the surrounding situation.

Xiaozi then pointed at the victims. “That corpse that spoke to me” Xiaozi said made their friends shiver to hear it.

“You can talk to spirits?” he Xian was surprised

Xiaozi smacked his forehead upon hearing a question from He Xian, look at these two corpses appearing to be dead about 22 hours ago, the two corpses of which were dead about 46 hours ago, he said, next it died about 70 hours ago. Chen Yan are my words correct? xiaozi asked Chen Yan.

“To be precise, your words are correct Xiaozi” said Chen Yan after checking the condition of the corpses.

“Then where did you know they were coming in two hours?” he Xian asked back.

Xiaozi walked open the door of the house to look out and lure the enemy to come to the place.

“The time of death of the victim is 24 hours, so they are killed every 24 hours at the same time. These monsters are too disciplined at times and are not afraid of their tracks being exposed by us” Xiaozi said.

The faces of Xiaozi's friends were stunned by Xiaozi's explanation. They did not expect Xiaozi to also have the expertise to analyze the casualties and traces of the monster.

After arriving at the location of the trap, they found a person from the goat clan trapped inside the trap set up by He Xian. The goat clan looked surprised at the arrival of the six of them to meet him who was trapped.

“Is this trap you?” shouted the person from the goat clan furiously.
