The Sword of the Spirit Hunter

The Sword of the Spirit Hunter
CHAPTER 51 | Hill of Death – Spirit Forest

The next day a team of monster hunters was preparing to leave, this time the members had grown to 6 people. Wuya did not want to come because he was guarding Master Liu Ba, but once he knew Qiongqi had also left with Xiaozi's team of monster hunters, Wuya had also forced to participate

“Klan bats are to the west of the crow clan, they have to pass through a spirit forest before getting to the bat clan city. The Spirit Forest was previously the playground of the magician clans. They often go there to talk to the spirits in the forest.” Wuya explained on the way

“Hmm...” Xiaozi muttered hearing Wuya's explanation.

“The Spirit Forest is actually located in the middle of this world region, which is believed that every monster world creature that dies their spirit will gather in the Spirit Forest. In the middle of the Spirit Forest was a Spirit Tree whose leaves were golden in color.

The Spirit Tree was very densely leafed, as each new spirit of the dead would make it grow a single sheet of gold-colored leaves. And if the leaf falls dark brown, the spirit has been reborn in the monster world. That belief is still believed by the clans all over the monster world.” Wuya explained at length

“Hmm..” Xiaozi muttered again this time a little louder making Wuya's eyes twitch to hear him

“In front of the Spirit Tree there is a temple guarded by spirit followers consisting of 5 people per generation. Followers of this spirit are people who are trusted as spirit intermediaries if there are people who want to talk to the spirit of the family or people close to them.

There are many visiting from various clans who come to the temple to just talk to the spirits of their close family or just pray to ask the holy spirit that they believe gives protection to themselves.” Wuya ended his explanation by taking a deep breath.

“Hmm..” Xiaozi remained muttering while looking at his surroundings.

“What do you mean Xiaozi, why did you mutter like that from the beginning? Don't you believe my explanation?” ask Wuya

“Not so, what you explained is already in the notes that we carry all. Master Liu Ba has already recorded it for us. You just repeat it to get attention. Basic crow” Xiaozi said frankly while showing Master Liu Ba's note to Wuya.

Wuya's eyes twitched looking at the writing on the note was exactly the same as what he had said since the beginning of the journey. Wuya looked at Qiongqi who was smiling at him. “Aahh...” her face flushed. He was embarrassed by that.

The six hunter teams, Xiaozi and his companions arrived at the spirit forest and saw long queues of various clans to enter the spirit temple.

“Crazy also this queue. Do they pay to do that question?” mumbles Xiaozi

“Do you want me to ask them?” qiongqi asked Xiaozi

“Do not. Your face and skin are suspicious. Let Wuya ask them” Xiaozi said

Hearing that, Wuya felt he had a chance to take the hearts of the entire team members. Then he asked one of the people in the queue and then came back to Xiaozi.

“Master, that person said that they paid as much as one piece of silver for each service inside the temple” Wuya said proudly.

“Hmm... means what is written on the doorstep of the temple is true” Xiaozi said as he passed

All eyes look in the direction mentioned by Xiaozi on the doorstep there is a sign that says “Each service is obliged to pay 1 piece of silver”.

Wuya's eyes turned red again, while the team members on an amused smile upon realizing that. “It looks like you purposely humiliated me huh. Watch out for you Xiaozi” grumbled Wuya with an annoyed face

Shan Mui who noticed that walked over to Xiaozi, “Xiaozi, why are you so happy to tease Wuya? He's going to dislike you even more ” Shan Mui whispered

“So, I'm just glad to see her face upset because I'm teased. He's too funny in my opinion. Hihihi..” Xiaozi smiled at the thought of Wuya's annoyed face.

“Stop!” shouted someone to block the six hunting teams. Then came dozens of other people from various clans who also blocked their journey.

“What's stopping us?” xiaozi asked those people.

Xiaozi saw that the people who were blocking this did not have a high cultivation level, they were the average residents of an ordinary clan. And have absolutely no killing intent.

“You team of monster hunters?” asked the person who seemed to be from the rabbit clan to them.

“Why did you ask again after I asked you that question?” xiaozi asked them

The faces of those people were a little confused at Xiaozi's words then they immediately knelt down and begged Xiaozi.

“Master, please help us!” beg them to Xiaozi

Xiaozi's eyes twitched as all of their obstructions knelt down to beg him for help.

“Everything stand. Tell me what's up!” sahut Xioazi felt sorry for them.

“Our village is outside the spirit forest, recently attacked by a nation of monsters who killed villagers by sucking their blood” said the older person in front of him

“Blood-sucking monster?” Shan Mui was stunned to hear that. He then opened the hunter token and searched for information about it.

Based on the information from the hunter token, the blood-sucking monsters were not present in this place. Rather it was about three more villages to the south of this spirit forest. “Why can they be in this place?” shan Mui muttered not understanding.

While in the village near the spirit forest based on the information of the token there are no disturbing monsters.

“Is that information trustworthy and up-to-date?” he Xian asked Shan Mui

“During this all the information obtained is always correct” Shan Mui told He Xian.

Chen Yan pondered the words of the villagers. “Xiaozi, we'd better go to that village and see the victim. Maybe I can check them” Chen Yan said

“Good. Take us to your village. We will check the victims it” Xiaozi said.

The villagers felt grateful that the hunting team was willing to help them to eradicate the blood-sucking monsters that were troubling the villagers.

When Xiaozi's team of hunters arrived in the village, the villagers immediately took him to one of the deserted houses and brought the bodies of the other victims from the blood-sucking monster. The victims looked dry and only the remaining skin-clad bones had wrinkled.

Then Chen Yan inspected one of them and several others, then he took out a needle from his storage ring and pierced the neck of the corpse.

After the dot on the neck of the corpse was pierced by Chen Yan, then there appeared a palm on the chest of the victim.

“This man did not die because his blood was sucked, but his spirit was pulled out by someone forcibly with magic” Chen Yan said after seeing similarities to the victims.
