CHAPTER 42 | Hill of Death – Entering a wilderness magic formation

The Hill of Death, in the region of the crow clan was once a beautiful and green place called the Witch Hill, because it was inhabited by witches from various clans who studied in that place. At the foot of the hill there is a vast wilderness surrounding it.

Ever since the monster clan began to invade all the territory, they destroyed the magician college on the Witch's Hill and turned the place into a barren place, full of ruins and death eve so that it was currently called the Hill of Death

Liu Ba was one of the witch disciples who survived, because he was in another region when the battle on the Witch's Hill occurred. He along with the 5 human clan mages and 3 beast clan mages were the ones who were now left from the Witch Hill college including one of them was the Serpent Queen.

Unlike the other beast clans, the outer appearance of the crow clan was not the same as the other beast clans. The Snake Clan whose upper half was human-bodied and underneath was a snake, the other beast clan the lower half of the beast-headed man.

The crow clan remained crow-like, yet they could speak like humans. Because they are in the magic region, they have also studied magic and can transform themselves into other forms, such as the form of a giant crow or even a human form.

Wuya was one of the crow clan who learned a lot of magic from the Black Witch Liu Ba, he could even transform himself into a human who always helped Liu Ba take care of his residence.

The group of Xiaozi monster hunter team arrived in the wilderness under the foothills of death after they walked for 5 days through the territory of the Snake clan as well as the Buffalo Clan. The wilderness is the territory of the crow clan where the Hill of Death is located.

When entering the wilderness, the magic air was very thick, they seemed to enter another world.

“Stay near me! This forest is full of traps and illusions. Follow my steps!” he Xian said to his friends. Xiaozi and the others nodded and walked hand in hand near He Xian.

On the fifth step they entered the forest, as if the trees were moving in formation and surrounded them. The sky was covered with tree leaves and made it dark. They could not determine the direction when it was dark without being able to look towards the sky.

“This forest makes people lost. It was the first illusion” He Xian said next. He Xian who understood witchcraft knew of the existence of magic in the wilderness. Then he walked in the direction that actually passed through several trees and circled again how many trees were the key to the magic formation to find a way out.

After He Xian saw the exit, he seemed to walk through a tree that turned out to be an illusion, but it looked very real if others did not know it.

“Prepare. Next we will enter another magic formation” He Xian said

Xiaozi and his friends walked five more steps, then there appeared rocks that out of nowhere blocked their way around him. They could not jump into the air because the strong gravitational pressure made their steps heavy.

“Do not use force, the more limp and light our body will be the easier to walk” cried He Xian giving hints.

Sure enough once they did not use force to resist the gravity, they set their breath to lighten their bodies so that they could continue the journey more easily.

The arranged stones moved like random blocking the path in front of them so as to make people walk around. Actually the stone directs people to walk around until the trapped person runs out of their energy.

The stone is so sturdy that it is difficult to destroy with power, once the stone is destroyed, it will appear again another stone that replaces the stone. And so on until the trapped person will desperately run out of energy.

Finally they arrived at the end of the formation in relief, “Crazy, this magic formation is truly incredible. If without He Xian, we wouldn't be able to get through” Xiaozi said with relief.

“Ah... apparently so” said Xiaozi who then realized it. True as well, this team of monster hunters was formed by Shan Mui, so he was the head of this team of monster hunters. So according to the rules, he is the one who has the right to decide what will be decided in the team.

Xiaozi then pondered about the information he had heard about Shan Mui who had difficulty cooperating in other hunting teams.

The scorching sun makes them thirsty while walking down the desert. He Xian looked around looking for a sign to get out of the desert.

Suddenly dozens of giant scorpions appeared from within the sand that surrounded them. The faces of the four of them were shocked to see the appearance of the giant scorpion beast.

“He Xian? Is this real?” xiaozi asked He Xian. Before He Xian replied, a scorpion had already carried out an attack on Xiaozi with its tail sting. It was fortunate that Xiaozi had already prepared and took out his Spirit Hunter sword.

“This is real” Xiaozi shouted as he felt the clash between the sword in his hand and the scorpion's tail.
