Syahdu ran fast without caring about the people around him. Several times he almost got hit by people in the hospital hallway, he did not apologize so panicked after hearing news from Khairul that Wicak had an accident.
Khairul immediately stood up when he saw Syahdu coming with tears that were already sullen.
"Sister, how.." He couldn't continue his question. Moreover, Khairul's eyes also turned red.
"Sit down first." Said the man, but Syahdu did not obey. His gaze was fixed on one of the doors that he was sure Wicak was inside.
"Shahdu, sit down first." He pulled out Syahdu's hand until the girl sat down.
"Quiet, yeah. Wickers are checked again."
"This is how you, brother, how you can..." Syahdu. Suriani's shadow appeared in his eyes. He doesn't want the Wicak to catch up either.
"So.. Wick up to Redsky. I didn't feel good from the beginning. But he maksa. I heard he was fighting."
"Be-fighting?"
"Yes. The Arga."
Syahdu. Wicak fighting with Arga?
"Wish to go home alone. He said he was going somewhere. Trus suddenly the sound of a car horn is heard, the noise can be heard from witnesses there, if Wicak hit a truck."
The tears of Syahdu came back. He closed his mouth so he could not imagine what was happening.
Syahdu cried bowing. Got hit by a truck, did Wicak survive?
The sound of Syahdu's crying sounded whimpering in the ears. He sat on the floor and covered his mouth. How could something like this come around to him?
Khairul could not appease the devastated Syahdu. He just stood looking at the crying girl sitting down.
Shortly a doctor came out of the IGD room after treating Wicak. He opened his glasses, as Syahdu sprinkled closer to him.
"Doctor, how's he doing?" Asked the girl with a trembling voice.
"You're his family?"
Syahdu nodded quickly.
"The patient had a severe head injury. This is due to a hard impact during an accident. We had to do a radiology check to find out more. For a while, we'll move the patient to the ICU."
Syahdu. The doctor's explanation sounded difficult in his ears. But he caught one thing. Wicak's condition is very severe.
"Dok.. what..that means. Brother Wicak can't be saved?"
The question came out of Syahdu's mouth just like that. He was afraid that Wicak would leave him just like Suriani who suddenly dropped even though his body had been healthy since the beginning.
"My job is to help treat it, your job is to pray and encourage it. The critical period can be missed if the patient quickly regains consciousness." Obviously the doctor on Syahdu. Then the doctor left.
Door opens. Wicak was lying with a bandage on his head that was so much. A breathing tube covers his nose and mouth. Some of the sisters pushed the gurney and held onto some of the tools connected to the Wicak.
Syahdu tears spilled over to see the comatose Wicak. His feet were like unsteady, Syahdu again sat down. He remembered Suriani who had been fitted with a hose and other tools when critical. Although it had improved, but Suriani left it. Is Wicak like that too?
Syahdu helped Khairul to rise. They're heading for the ICU.
It had been almost an hour, Syahdu was just standing in front of the door staring at Wicak through the glass gap. Guilt runs in his blood. Syahdu regretted doing everything he ever did.
From the beginning, if only he had not asked to move to the city. If only he had worked instead of going to college and letting his grandmother rest, if only he had not sold himself to Arga, if only...
Syahdu looked down, sobbing at the thought of all that. He blames himself. He is stupid and cannot think long. Because of their stupidity, many are victims.
Karmas. A word suddenly appeared in his mind. Is this really the karma he should accept?
"Shahdu."
Khairul stood behind the girl.
"Sorrys. I can't stay here long. I've contacted Wicak's parents and he'll be quiet again. You.. would you like me to come home?"
Syahdu nodded slowly. His view is not separated from Wicak.
"I'm here. Nemenin, sister of Wicak."
Khairul nodded in understanding. "Tomorrow of Wicak's friends is coming. So, I'm here again, too. If there is anything to bring, let me know. Okay?"
Syahdu was silent, he needed nothing but Wicak. He wants the lizard to wake up as soon as possible.
Syahdu's eyes continued to stare at the patient screen monitor. Wicak's heartbeat rhymed through that screen. He could see it, that slow-moving winding line. He hoped that the beat would always be there. He could not imagine if the beat disappeared.
~
Syahdu did not dare to come closer considering that the woman did not like him. But, he also will not leave the place even though Wicak's mother kicked him out though.
"Sweet.why are you like this, son. Though he said he wanted a hearing tomorrow. huhuu.." Wicak's mother sniffled in her husband's arms. Syahdu somehow felt guilty. All this because of him. What if he's not being honest, Wicak's still healthy?
"Shahdu."
Bayu, Wicak's father realizes the existence of his son's lover.
"What did the doctor say?" Ask the middle-aged man.
"This must be all because of you! Aye, right? You must have told him to pick you up, right! Why was he in an accident? Yeah, right!" Hardik Mirna, Mother of Wicak.
"Mom, already, ma'am. Earlier, the mother heard her own explanation friends Wicak if she crossed when the green light. Don't recriminate, that is. Not good." Tukas pak Bayu advised his wife. Then he looked back at Syahdu. "Tell us, yeah, Syahdu."
Syahdu was crying. What Wicak's mother said was true that this was all because of him. Somehow Wicak could tell that Arg was the man he had slept with. Then he came and beat up the guy for sure because of him. Syahdu realized that.
"Sorry.." That's all Syahdu said in the middle of his stuffing.
"Ga nothing, Syahdu. We pray that Wicak can get through this, yeah."
Syahdu nodded, while Mirna threw away her face and sat down on the waiting bench.
"Syahdu, aren't you coming home?" Ask Bayu.
"Engga, sir. I. wait here."
"Yes, it's nothing." The man replied and then again calmed his wife who was still sobbing.
~
"Dok, can I come in? My mother. Please let me in." Mirna held the doctor's hand. She was crying so much.
"Can, mom, can. But in a minute, we'll do the check first."
A doctor and a nurse entered the ICU.
Before long, the doctor came out with good news.
"Wicak has opened his eyes, please masuj, ma'am."
Mirna immediately entered in ICU clothes, while the doctor chatted with Mr. Bayu.
Syahdu stood in front of the door, twisting his fingers. He wants to come in too. He wants to see Wicak. He wants to see the man.
"Shahdu, you want to come in?" Bayu handed over the ICU robe to Syahdu. She knew that she was worried about her son. Moreover Syahdu to not sleep and continue to stand staring at Wicak from the front door.
Syahdu did not want to waste the opportunity. He grabbed the ICU shirt and put it on. He then went inside, at the same time he saw Wicak had already opened his eyes.
Mirna was crying a mouthful next to her son along with the sound of heart rhythm on the monitor next to her.
"The strong, son. The strong. Mom's here, dad's here too. You're not alone. Heal yes, son. Cured, yes. I want to see you healed. hiks.hiks.."
Shahdu hastily wiped away her tears. He could not see Mirna, nor Wicak who seemed to understand her mother's words.
"Dad. du..." Speak slowly with an almost inaudible voice.
Mirna looked back. Syahdu was standing at the door with a hiccup powerless to see the condition of Wicak.
"Dad. du.."
The girl whose name was called walked over. While Mirna retreated, at her son's request, she let Syahdu near her son.
Syahdu clasped Wicak's hand. "I'm here." Shahdu whisper in Wicak's ear.
He stared at the face of the man he loved so much. The lizard cannot move its body. Only his eyes were looking up.
"I'm sorry, brother.." Syahdu was crying next to Wicak. "I. I love you."
A drop of water dripped on the man's temple. He missed Syahdu. He was glad that the woman was finally next to him in his critical moment.
"Cured, yes. Brother should be able to get through this. I'll continue next to brother. I ain't nowhere. I'm staying here, with brother."
Wicak only winked, as he understood what Syahdu said in his ear.
