She had met Lia's mother several times but she still felt unfamiliar with her.
In fact, she wondered if Lia's mother recognized her.
...................................
"Do you know a good cook? I don't want to take them to the restaurant. The identity of my mother's friend is rather unique." Lia looked at Luis.
He could only cook simple meals like spaghetti, but it was not enough to entertain guests.
"What a coincidence! I know someone who can help." Luis nodded small.
Lia immediately replied, "Right? Who her? Give me the guy's number."
Their schedules are congested, if anything does not fit, everything will fall apart.
"He's right in front of you." Luis pointed at him.
"You? Don't joke'" Lia chuckled.
He had seen culinary science before, Luis could only cook basic foods such as instant noodles with eggs.
Besides it's impossible.
"I don't have time to joke. Give me the phone" Lia said.
"I'm chef. Why don't you trust me?" Luis rolled his eyes. According to him, a chef with a decade of experience may not have a quarter of his expertise.
"If you're a chef, then I'm the king of chefs." Lia laughed a little. "You think I don't know your abilities? You don't even know how to cook eggs. I taught you how to do it, remember?"
"Lia, we haven't seen each other in a long time. Do you think I still can't cook? I'm here, right in front of you. Do I still look the same as I used to?" Luis teases Lia.
"The guest ... is not an ordinary person," Lia choked back.
Lia wouldn't be this worried if her mother's friend was a commoner. However, this friend of his mother had a unique identity. He couldn't let Luis embarrass himself or cause trouble for him.
"Yes, I know."
Luis rolled up his sleeves and said, "Let's show me my skills."
After ending his statement, he immediately walked towards the kitchen. He was sure that no one could win easily against him unless his opponent was a genius or had studied the culinary arts from a young age.
In no time, Luis came out with a plate of hot pasta.
Each flat pasta is coated with tomato sauce from minced beef mixed evenly into the dish.
Lia thought that the dish looked different from her homemade pasta, looking more like a work of art.
"This ... You made it?" If they were not in her house, Lia would have thought there was someone else in the kitchen.
"He who could not cook before, could make this? It seems like she has turned into someone different," thought Lia.
"Who else? Do you think that dish just popped up?" Luis answered while chuckling, and gave him a fork. "Hurry, taste it."
"You sure?" Lia asked worriedly.
He thought, "Does this include dishes whose appearance doesn't match the taste?"
He's experienced that before and he doesn't put high hopes on Luis' culinary science.
"Not to worry. You won't die from this food." Luis rolled his eyes.
"If it doesn't taste good, I'll cut off your ear for my wine snack" Lia threatened.
Even though he did not believe her, he bribed her, and her expression instantly brightened.
The dish was not as oil as he thought. In fact, there is a slight taste of garlic and onions, the paste al dente, creating a harmonious blend of pasta, minced meat, and the sauce.
"What do you think?" Luis asked, he grinned widely.
He is confident in his culinary science.
"I don't like wasting food," Lia replied.
Ingredients play an important role in preparing food. Although there are some ingredients in the refrigerator, Lia is not the usual type of cooking at home.
They went to the nearest supermarket to buy staples like vegetables and meat.
Since it was already noon, most of the quality materials had already run out. However, they managed to sort out the rest of the stock and found good materials.
"I'm shocked. You turned out to have a pent-up talent in cooking," commented Lia.
Luis laughed a little. "I live alone. Could starve me to death if I couldn't cook."
Even so, he only cooked simple dishes like spaghetti when alone.
"Lobster's good. How about we buy two?" Lia pointed at a big lobster.
"You have sharp eyesight, Miss."
The shopkeeper took out a lobster from the tank, and the lobster moved excitedly. "It's from Auguria. It's rarely around here."
"really? Give it to me ..." Lobster from Auguria is famous, Lia never tasted it first.
"Huh-ha. Is this a lobster? It looks quite fat, but it is different from that of the sea. Do you use sea water? The Augurian lobster lives in fresh water" Luis said.
"You're an expert, yeah." The shopkeeper remained calm. He knew that he would not be able to lie to an expert.
If he's bickering and things get out of hand, he might not be able to keep his shop here.
"Not really. Just a coincidence." Luis chuckled then continued, "The curls look good."
"Your eyes are sharp, Sir. I'll choose a big one for you." The shopkeeper gave Luis a thumbs up.
"What's right?" There was a flash of jail in Luis's eyes. "The larger the size of the crab, the rougher the meat. So is the king Remkandan crab and most other materials."
"You understand a lot, yes," the shopkeeper tweeted.
He picked up some smaller crabs and weighed them. "Everything's 500 bucks."
Luis pulled out his card and paid for it.
The price is quite reasonable.
"What else do we need?" Lia asked Luis.
"We're going to my house. I have some seafood and other ingredients" he replied.
The quality of the ingredients in his house is better than those in the supermarket.
"All right." Without a doubt, Lia drives to Luis' house.
Luis returns home alone and buys some of Auguria's original lobsters with his cell phone. In fact, Auguria lobster may come from a different location. However, Auguria was the home of the famous lobster, hence, the name was used as a label for a good quality lobster.
Red lobsters with large claws appear on the table, each weighing up to 2 pounds.
"Red wine is old ..."
Luis searched the marketplace and found a bottle of red wine he wanted.
In an instant, a bottle of old wine appeared on the table in a sealed state.
"Let's go back to prepare dinner" Luis told Lia while bringing all the ingredients to the car.
"Where did you get that wine? The wine looks cheap" Lia commented as she looked at the bottle Luis had brought.
The glass of the bottle was extremely rough, it was impossible to find such glass at this moment.
"Do you believe that this wine can be exchanged for a house?" Luis chuckles.
"alright. It's up to you." Lia chuckled and didn't think about it anymore.
