Eli was still a student, so he didn't have too much money either. He needed to contact his parents if he needed thousands of dollars, but he didn't want to bother them this late.

"Mr Nardo, let me write a debt letter for you," Vina said as she gritted her teeth.

Surprised, Luis looked at Viba and finally agreed, "Alright. How much do you want to borrow? You certainly know that 1,500 dollars won't be enough, look at your daughter's condition."

"15 thousand dollars .. does it matter?"

In the past, Vina would not have thought that 15 thousand dollars was a big deal. Now, that amount was enough to ruin his life. If he refuses to pay, his daughter's life will be jeopardized.

"No problem." Luis nodded.

His instantaneous and resolute reply shocked Eli. After all, he did not look like a person who had 15 thousand dollars to lend. Besides, there was no guarantee that he would get his money back.

Writing a debt is not a problem. A simple message is enough. Luis glanced at his debt letter, pulled out a cell phone, and quickly transferred the money.

Fortunately, Luis' transfer limit passed 15 thousand dollars. Otherwise, they need to ask the bank to make the transfer.

"It." Luis gestured towards Vina with his phone. Then she wrote down her phone number in the message. If this was all, I would leave now. Call me if you need help.

"Thank you, Mr. Nardo," Vina said gratefully.

"I have to go, too" Eli spoke up.

"Sorry to have troubled you too, Miss Yasmin," added Vina.

As he walked out of the hospital door, Luis let out a long sigh. He took out a cigarette from his pocket and started smoking it. If he did not do that, there was a high chance that he would fall down at that very instant.

He burned the bonds with a lighter before using his fire to light a cigarette.

"Hey! What are you doing?"

Eli was shocked to see what Luis was doing. "The debt is worth 15 thousand dollars!"

He could see that Vina was a person who held firm to her integrity. If Luis had just given him 15 grand, Vina wouldn't have accepted. Therefore, he proposed creating a debt to convince her.

Eli dumbfounded. He did not know how to respond to Luis. 15 thousand dollars is a big amount of money for him.

"What if we eat something? I'll deal with it." Luis looked around before pointing to a nearby food stall.

As he looked at the small stall, Eli could not help but frown. Even so, he followed Luis.

Luis actually suggested they eat together just to be polite. Since it was a small food stall, he thought most girls would not want to go there. He didn't think Eli would agree.

Eli sighed deeply as he looked at the greasy seat and sat down on one of the chairs.

Their pempek is served fairly quickly. Looks filling. Although his outer appearance was unimpressive, his raSanya was unbelievably delicious. It tastes like home cooking.

"It's been a long time since I've eaten pempek."

Luis ate his food.

Ever since his parents died, he never again made his own pempek. He'll only buy a frozen pempek if he's craving a pempek. Frozen pempek can not be compared with homemade produce.

Eli also ate voraciously. Perhaps the hunger had prompted him to not think too much about the surrounding circumstances. But still, Eli showed better manners than Luis.

"What's your job right now? Looks like you haven't graduated yet" Luis said half-heartedly.

"Me?"

Eli paused for a moment before continuing, "I went to Fatoli University. I'm in my third year."

"So you're a genius, apparently." Luis thumbs up for him. Fatoli University is famous all over the country. Everyone knows that the students at the university are the best among the best.

"No. I'm not a genius. I'm just really lucky." Eli smiled. He humbly asked, "What about you? What's yourjob?"

Luis doesn't look like a student in his eyes.

"What else can I do? I'm just a game addict playing video games at home all day.

Luis shrugged with an indifferent expression.

After they finished eating the pempek, Eli suggested they pay themselves. Luis had no choice but to let him pay half his bill.

"Are you sure you don't want to come by my house? It's not easy to get a taxi at this hour" Luis said when he saw there were only a few cars on the road.

"No, it's okay. I'll try my luck. If I don't get home soon, my boyfriend will worry" Eli said.
