"I think they should have checked it early. What did they do yesterday?" mused.

"We must release him immediately .." muttered Maxie.

Zizi glared at him and grumbled, "You don't need to teach me! I'll deal with you later!"

He immediately opened the door of the holding room. Then, he removed the handcuffs in Luis' hands.

"Hmm?"

Luis awakens when Zizi attempts to remove his handcuffs. "What's wrong? Did someone pay me a guarantee?"

Zizi said, "You're free now."

A bit awkwardly, he added, "There was a mistake during the arrest. You are innocent."

After he finished explaining, he turned to the door and shouted, "Maxie, get a glass of water for Mr. Nardo!"

Maxie rushes into the holding room and accidentally stumbles on his own leg.

Watching the scene, Luis felt amused and chuckled.

Maxie yelled in annoyance, "Hey!"

On the other hand, Zizi was dissatisfied with his colleague's work. "What's wrong with Maxie today? The kid is usually pretty smart," he thought.

A moment later, his forehead creased. "Why are you still here, Maxie? Get me a drink for Mr. Nardo!"

Luis stood up and said, "Wait a minute! No one can leave this room. Yesterday, you said that the evidence was strong, right? And you too! Get back in here! What the hell is going on?"

Zizi tried to explain, "You can leave now, Mr. Nardo. There has been a mistake, and we will take full responsibility."

Luis was angry. "At last you realized it? I was detained here all night! Call your boss to see me now. I have something to talk to him about!"

"Wait a minute, Mr. Nardo. "Please let us explain" Even Maxie started to get anxious. The situation could be bad if senior management heard about the matter.

"I want to talk to your boss now!"

"I'm the Chief of Police here, Deon Boy. You can call me Deon." A middle-aged man entered the detention room.

He approached Luis and extended his hand. "Mr Nardo, we will take full responsibility for this mistake. We will make amends for our mistakes. You can hold my word."

Luis immediately grabbed his hand. "I'm glad to hear that. I'm trusting you, Chief Baker. You weren't here yesterday. I've tried to explain that I'm innocent, but no one believes it!"

"Don't worry, Mr. Nardo. Since I'm already here, will I make sure to make up for our mistakes."

Deon smiled before pointing at Zizi. "You're coming to my office."

Shortly after, the three of them reached Deon's office. The office looks plain without much decoration. Deon prepared a cup of coffee and served it to Luis. "Please drink, Mr. Nardo. Let's calm down first."

Then, he explained sincerely, "I've double-checked the body camera. Undeniably, we made a mistake. I will be responsible for this mistake personally."

Zizi who had been silent since then, suddenly said, "Sorry to cut off your conversation, Chief. My shift is done. Besides, I have other things to work on."

Deon waved his hand, signifying his approval. "You can go, Zizi."

"Wait on! Where you going? Do you think you're the only one who's busy?" luis said with annoyance.

He deliberately stopped the woman.

"We've explained the location of the problem, Mr. Nardo. Now we know that you are innocent. Again, I'm sorry, " said Zizi.

Luis asked, "So, you're just going to make up for it with an apology? Do you think that's enough?"

He chuckled and turned towards Deon. "Head Baker, would you mind lending me your phone?"

"Of course not. But, what do you need it for, Mr Nardo?"

Luis picked up his phone and started typing very quickly. "I just want to find the best law firm in Malatam. Oh, sorry. I mean the best law firm in Cania."

"Wait a minute, Mr. Nardo. It's a misunderstanding." Deon hurriedly grabbed back his phone.

Then, he turned to Zizi and said, "Why are you in a hurry, Zizi? You can't leave because this is Mr. Nardo's request."

After listening to his superior orders, Zizi became anxious. "I'm sorry, Chief. I really have an urgent business."

Deon scolded her, "Mr Nardo was upset by your attitude. Stay where you are! Did you hear me?"

Deon's priority at the moment is to calm Luis down and make amends for them. After all, the credibility of the police would be jeopardized if this news were to spread.

On the other hand, Luis remained seated without a word. Clearly, he was deliberately challenging Zizi.

Deon said patiently, "Please forgive him, Mr. Nardo. Zizi is sometimes too forthright, but he is a dedicated cop. I hope you don't put it in your heart. I apologize for his attitude. Besides, I have prepared the car. I'll take you home later. What do you think?"

Luis immediately replied, "Then can I leave now?"

"of course! You can go whenever you want!" Deon nodded quickly. More precisely, he hoped Luis would leave as soon as possible.

"Who do you think I am? Obviously I say that you caught the wrong person, but no one believed me! After holding it all night, now you guys want to kick me out!" Finished saying so, Luis lay on the sofa as if he had no intention of leaving.

Enraged, he said, "The police here are ridiculous! I highly doubt your efficiency and credibility!"

Clumsy, Zizi said, "I'm really sorry for everything that's happened, Mr. Nardo."

Deon hurriedly chimed in, "I agree. It's all our fault. We will take this matter seriously, Mr. Nardo."

He was silent for a moment. "Why don't you give an opinion on this? How can we compensate for your loss? Please tell us," urged Deon.

"First, I want an apology from the person who arrested me!"

"Yes, we can do it" Deon replied as he nodded his head. That's a reasonable request.

"Both, I want them to write a report" Luis said. He could not punish the officers, as they were simply carrying out their duty to maintain the peace and order of the city.

"Of course, Mr. Nardo."
