Rich In a Brief

Rich In a Brief
Really Rich?

He bit a lumpia of beef and sipped some hot beef soup and thought, "It tastes so much better than any fancy I've ever tried."

................................................

"It tastes pretty good" he said. It had been quite a while since the last time he had tasted such a delicious meal.

"Can I have a drink here?" Luis ordered.

Mr. Santiago brought a large pot of coffee to their table and poured it into two cups. "Is he your girlfriend, Luis? She's so sweet, "god.

"No, no. He's just a friend. " Luis quickly waved his hand. He was worried that he could not get a girlfriend if people misunderstood. "For a poor man like me, having a girlfriend is like a luxury."

Seeing Luis panic, Lula looked at him with a suspicious look and thought, "Is he ashamed of me? She should feel lucky to have a girlfriend as beautiful as me. How can he call himself poor? If he is poor, what am I? A beggar?"

Luis is a regular customer of Mr. Santiago, so their relationship is very good.

"Please, how dare I accept your daughter even if you introduce yourself. What if your daughter comes to life with me?" Luis smiled wryly. In his mind, Mr. Santiago's daughter was still too young, so he had to find an excuse.

"Just think about it first" said Mr. Santiago, laughing as he patted Luis on the shoulder before leaving their table.

Coffee here is locally produced, usually made in large quantities. Compared to the Red Kebaya Coffee served to him in Lula's office, the difference in taste was obvious.

However, Luis still prefers coffee here over Red Kebaya Coffee.

"This coffee tastes a lot better than the coffee in your office" Luis commented suddenly.

Lula dumbfounded. The corner of his mouth twitched. "What does that mean? A scoop of Red Kebaya Coffee is as valuable as a gallon of this coffee," Lula thought.

"Ah, really? I'll try it first." He sipped a little coffee, it was a bit sweet.

After they finished eating, Luis asked for his bill, about 9 dollars for the two of them. Luis knew he would definitely cost up to 100 dollars if they went to a high-end restaurant.

"Should I take you home?" Lula asked as they stood up to leave.

"no need. My house is just a few steps from here."

"All right then. See you next time." Lula nodded.

After Luis disappears from his sight, Lula returns to her car.

"Lula! What are you doing here?" A voice called out and a tangam grabbed Lula's shoulder.

Lula turned around and was surprised to see her best friend, Rena. "I just had dinner here. What else do you want?"

Rena was surprised and teased, "Well, I didn't expect Miss Veyron to eat in a place like this."

Susan knows her best friend, Lula. Lula always tries to follow a luxurious lifestyle by going to a high-end restaurant or cooking her own food. This was the first time Susan had seen him eating at a roadside stall.

"I mean, I was treated," said Lula annoyed.

"So, all it takes is someone to pay for your dinner? I don't think it's that simple, Miss Veyron. Remember when Mr. Yules took you out for a dinner of Mirian cuisine, but you refused? And, just now, did you eat on the side of the road with someone just for being invited? Is this someone special?" Rena teases.

A beautiful woman like Lula at once had many admirers around her. Some of them were even millionaires, but he never showed any interest.

"Just shut up, okay? Stop asking me." Lula rolled her eyes and jumped into the car. "Let's be happy, let's just say I like it."

"Are you serious?" Rena was stunned as she examined Lula's forehead. "No fever. You must be crazy. If he's taking you to dinner here, I doubt he's got any money. You can't just give him a chance."

"Have finished? It would be an honor if he was really interested in me! " Lula exclaimed.

"He just bought a building for millions of dollars. Who knows how rich he really is? I bet his fortune is at least nine digits. Although the style of dress like that, it does not mean he is not rich. Not to mention, a man like him was always surrounded by many girls," Lula thought inwardly.

"Are you sure it's useless?" Rena exclaims. "You need to be aware, okay? You swore you would marry only the rich. Don't waste yourself with someone like him."

"I'm sorry, he's a very rich man" Lula explained, rolling her eyeballs. "She just signed a contract with me and invited me to dinner together. I can't just turn it down, can I?"

"Very rich? How wealthy? A millionaire?" Rena finally felt relieved.

"He just bought one building from the Duke's Tower. That one building has 64 units."

Rena directly splashed water from her mouth.

"Crazy for you? You just littered my car! Watch you!"
