Hearing that, Eli waved his hand but remained silent. He wanted to stay here and ensure the safety of the girl with his own eyes.

Rarely has anyone been as good as you lately. Luis smiled and said so.

"Well, you yourself are not bad, considering you have the guts to save her under such circumstances" Eli replied.

"I'm not worried because I didn't make a mistake. Not to mention, what we are talking about is the life of a human being.

Emergency room lights are still on even though it has been a long time passed. As they waited, Eli's friend called him and he picked him up right away. Eli had no intention of leaving the place at all, so Luis went and bought two bottles of water.

He put one of the bottles next to Stella, opened the other bottle and started drinking.

Luis had a delicious dinner, but the portions weren't too big. So his stomach started to rumble again, and he could only suppress his hunger by drinking water.

"Hello, you must be Mr. Nardo."

A short-haired woman came up to him and extended a hand. "I'm Evana from Rawana Police Department."

"Hello, that's right, I'm Luis. Is there anything I can help you with?" Luis stood up immediately.

"We've found the girl's identity based on the clues you gave us. She is from Jamarta, a third-grader at a girls' high school. We've also contacted her mother, so you two can go home" Evana explained the situation to them calmly.

Luis looked at Eli who waved his hand. "It's okay. We'll wait here."

"Well, you heard him." Luis smiled and sat leaning against the wall again.

"We checked the girl's family background and found that she used to have a pretty good life until her father ended his life due to a recent failed investment. Now she lives with her mother, and their financial situation seems to be bad."

Eli looked at Luis when he heard that because it was Luis who paid for the girl's treatment. If the girl is like that, then it will not be easy for Luis to get back his money.

Shortly after, a woman in her thirties walked over anxiously. The woman had short hair and glasses. Actually, she looks like a city girl in her twenties.

"All of you, thank you very much!"

The woman's eyes reddened as she clasped Evaba's hand and sobbed. She looks like she's gonna faint if Evana doesn't hold her body.

"Not to worry. Everything's gonna be fine. The doctor said he could recover." Eli and Evana start to cheer the woman up.

It was three hours past the dead, and Luis almost fell asleep until the door to the operating room finally opened. The doctors then came out, and everyone quickly approached them.

"Not to worry. The operation was a success, and the girl was no longer critical. However, he suffered broken bones all over his body, and his head was severely injured, so he needed to be monitored in the hospital. You must arrange for him to be hospitalized here."

"May I ask you about how much the treatment will cost?" The girl's mother, Vina White, asked worriedly.

"The operation is not expensive, but treatment after surgery is not cheap. The patient's head is injured, and if we consider the fractures all over his body, the handling will be quite a lot. It is best that you prepare about 15 thousand dollars for this treatment, but of course, this amount is just in case. The cost is mainly based on the results of the cure," the doctor replied smoothly.

Vina gaped at the cost and almost fainted on the spot. Before this, such a large amount was not so much felt to him because their life circumstances were good. But now, that number felt heavy to him.

After the conversation was over, the girl was pushed out of the operating room by the nurse. His body was now covered in bandages.

"How about this? You can take care of the registration first."

"May I ask how much is the deposit? At the moment I only bring 450 dollars because I came in a hurry."

That amount was the total money Vina had at the moment, and even if she requested a loan from her friends and family, she was not sure anyone would be willing to lend her a loan.

The doctor furrowed his brows and replied, That's not enough. The deposit is about 1500 dollars with the current condition of the patient. Maybe you can withdraw money from the bank? There is a bank nearby, and the beds here are very limited.

When Eli heard that, he pulled out his phone and said to Vina, "I have about 300 dollars. Maybe we can raise the money we need together."

Eli was still a student, so he didn't have too much money either. He needed to contact his parents if he needed thousands of dollars, but he didn't want to bother them this late.
