A Mate is Never Wrong

A Mate is Never Wrong
Meet Jefry Tanujaya.

As promised, Handoko has just entered the luxury office building in the middle of the city.

"Please come in, Mr. Jefry is inside," the female official said.

Handoko knocked on the door once and entered.

"Good morning, Mr. Jefry Tanujaya."

Jefry, who was sitting, stood up. "Handoko ... Is that you?"

The two men hugged. Twenty years of not seeing each other made them barely know each other.

"You're getting good-looking, Jeff."

"You're also getting white and handsome, Handoko. I thought you were joking about this visit, I thought you were still overseas. Come on, please sit down. What do you want to drink?"

"Coffee just."

Jefry pressed the intercom, while Handoko sat in front of him.

"Bring two cups of coffee into my room."

"Good, sir."

Jeff looked at Handoko. "When did you arrive, huh? Why didn't you tell me? I can get people to pick you up."

"That's not necessary. I'm here because of my son, I want to mend my relationship with him."

"That's right, twenty years is not a short time. Didn't he ask why you left him?"

Handoko. "I've been honest with him, Jefry."

"All?"

"No."

"Why?"

Handoko. "I don't want Niko to know our involvement in the past."

"That's no problem, Handoko. I want Niko to know that her papa is friends with the most influential man in town" Jefry laughed. The arrogance made his facial expression change.

"Niko doesn't need to know about it."

"Why?"

"He likes your daughter."

The man in front of Handoko was shocked. "Niko likes Wulan?"

"It's not appropriate that he knew his future father-in-law was a bad man."

Jefry chuckles.

"The reason I met you today is because of that. I swear, I'm so mad at you, Jefry. I was actually lazy to meet you, but for Niko's sake I had to."

"I knew. It's all happened, Handoko. We both enjoyed the results, right."

Handoko stared hard. "If I knew the suitcase contained explosives, I wouldn't have brought it."

"That's it. It's too late, Handoko."

"You won't understand, Jeff."

Right at that moment their coffee came. After the beautiful officer came out, they spoke again.

"Let's talk about the past that won't be possible again, let's talk about the future" said Jefry, "By the way, since when did your son like my daughter? This is really good news, Handoko. We'll be besan soon."

"If I don't want Niko to change, I don't want to be your boss, Jeff."

"Come, Handoko. You are very meritorious to me. I will never forget what you did for me. Maybe it's time I retaliate. Tell me, what am I supposed to do for our kids?"

Handoko was silent for a moment. He tells the chronology of when Niko met Wulan.

"Before that I did want to match Wulan to your son, but your presence abroad made it hard to say so. Now, that brings you to me right now. My destiny is always good, Handoki," Jefry laughed.

"You're not making any more plans, are you?"

"Come, Handoko. Why do you always think bad about me, huh?"

"What reason do you want to match them?"

"I don't want anyone else managing my company. I don't want them to know my wealth history. You know, all this I did for us. For me and you."

Handoko surprised. "Not for me, Jefry. Just for you."

"You've enjoyed the results, Handoko. You know that."

"What do you mean?"

Handoko was curious about Jefry's statement. However, he knew his friend was loud. So, forcing him to be honest is now free.

"Niko really likes your daughter. I'm not sure your daughter will like Niko."

"That can be arranged, Handoko. When are we gonna have a banquet to talk about this, huh?"

"You talked about this with your daughter first. If he agrees, we'll have dinner together and discuss their marriage. As you said, as soon as they get married it'll be better, I have an agreement with Niko after she gets married."

"What agreement?"

"I want him to manage all my efforts here. All this time he didn't know about it, he knew it belonged to a friend of mine."

"You take it easy, tonight I'll talk to Wulan. Tomorrow morning I'll let you know."

After the hospital business is over, Niko takes Wulan to one of the famous restaurants in the city center.

"I'm hungry. Will you accompany me to lunch?"

Wulan was happy to be near Niko. I don't know why he felt like lingering with that man.

"No, I'm hungry by chance."

Niko smiled. He was glad Wulan had such an open attitude.

They are currently in the restaurant. Niko took a position in front of Wulan. Knowing the woman liked grilled chicken, Niko had Brian take them there. Niko is the most anti-seem with food like that.

"Oh, yes," Niko began, "may I know why the house people didn't pick you up?"

"Sudden return. I don't want to tell people home, they're very busy today."

"I heard you took a leave of absence, huh?"

Wulan smiled. "You know from whom?"

"I told Brian to look for you. I sent him to your office, even to your house. They said you took a leave of absence and went out of town.

"My departure was unplanned, everything was sudden."

Niko's gaze was so deep. "I want to thank you, you saved me, Wulan. If you hadn't shown up that time, maybe I wouldn't have sat with you like this."

Wulan smiled dearly.

"Thank you for paying for my medical expenses. I'll replace it."

"That's not necessary, I'm sincerely doing it."

"Let me return your favor."

Wulan laughed just as the waiter came over.

"That's not necessary, Niko."

"Excuse me, can anyone help?"

Niko flipped through her menu list. "What do you want to eat, Wulan?"

"Chicken grilled rica and iced tea sweet."

"I'm the same, too" Niko replied, then closed her menu, "Es my tea is a little, yes. I don't like sweet."

"Good, Sir. Please wait, yeah."

After the waiter left Wulan asked Niko a question, "You like to eat spicy?"

"This is the first time. Looks delicious. I want to try it."

Wulan smiled.

Not wanting the silence to happen, Niko asked a question that made Wulan's heart careless.

"I don't have a boyfriend, Niko."

"Women are as good and beautiful as you when no one has."

"I'm serious."

"Thank God. Then no one gets angry if I take you everywhere."

Wulan chuckles.

Niko could capture the same response from Wulan's expression and body language. The woman liked him.

"If anyone proposed to you and wanted to marry you, would you accept it without dating first?"
