“Are you going to keep ignoring me?”

The question just slipped from Evelyn's lips. The woman looked straight at Leo who seemed focused on driving. Since picking Evelyn up at her residence, Leo had not asked her to speak again. The man hugged Evelyn for a moment and told Evelyn to get in the car.

Five minutes later, the car that Leo and Evelyn were riding in entered a gate. Leo stopped his car right in front of a renaissance-style house with a touch of modern architecture that was none other than his home.

“Down, we talk about this inside,” Leo said as he opened the car door for Evelyn.

Evelyn nodded, then got out of the car. They both walked side by side into Leo's house. The second in which Leo's door was closed was the second in which any commotion occurred.

“Are you still mad because I didn't come last night?” evelyn asked as she folded her hands in front of her chest.

Leo raised his shoulders. The man then landed his ass on the sofa while rolling his shirt arm up to the elbow.

“How do you think?” reply Leo indifferently. “You also know, ‘kan, if I accidentally throw a new year party on board to celebrate the day where we met?”

Evelyn closed her eyes for a moment. He remembers how excited Leo was a few days ago when he talked about planning a new year's party. Leo tells Evelyn that the new year's party will be a reminder of how their love began to grow and blossom into their current relationship. Leo also wants Evelyn to know that she loves Evelyn very much and is serious about their relationship.

However, unfortunately it seems that Evelyn has missed a night that should have been very special for them. The woman fell asleep at her husband's residence until dawn.

“I know,” Evelyn said in the end.

“If you know, you should have come,” Leo sneer. The man stood up, then said again, “My body feels sultry, I will take a shower first. We'll talk about this later.”

“By the way, where have you been this morning? Why didn't you pick up my phone?” ask Evelyn before Leo climbs the stairs.

The man stopped his steps. Her heart felt like it had stopped beating when she heard Evelyn's question. However, the man again changed his expression to neutral just as he flipped his body facing Evelyn.

“I've had a party for you, you didn't come to that party. And the thing you're worried about is why don't I pick up your phone? That's right, Eve!” tell Leo while shaking his head. She did not expect that Evelyn would rather discuss the reason Leo did not take the call from her.

“I just felt something weird. It's not usual for you to ignore my calls,” Evelyn quipped as she narrowed sharply at Leo.

“And not usually also you do not come to the party,” reply Leo no less sharp.

The man was so disappointed that Evelyn did not come to his party. What's more, when she remembers about what she did at the party last night with Angela. If Evelyn had come, maybe nothing like that would have happened and Leo would not have felt this guilty about Evelyn.

Yes, the reason Leo had ignored Evelyn was because she was confused about what to behave in front of Evelyn after what happened last night. He feels guilty. But, she was also unlikely to show it blatantly in front of Evelyn.

Leo was too afraid to lose Evelyn because he loved her.

“I have a reason why I didn't come. I overslept. Didn't I say that on the phone?” evelyn asked as she flicked her lips.

“Oh, really? You overslept? Or maybe you spent last night with your husband and son so you forgot about the party I had, or even enjoyed the party in bed with Nick,” tuding Leo suspiciously.

“You don't go crazy, Leo!” Evelyn rolled her eyeballs. “You know for yourself that I would never spend time with Nick.”

And I was lucky last night too. The connection in the heart.

Hearing the words spoken by Leo did not make Evelyn then become happy. The woman looked at Leo suspiciously.

“Did you spend time with another woman last night?” evelyn asked as she folded her hands in front of her chest. His gaze narrowed sharply at Leo. There was a suspicious stroke clearly drawn at his temple.

“What are you talking about, Evelyn?” ask Leo.

The man was still trying to hide his shock at the question that was sliding freely from Evelyn's lips.

“It would be wrong if I asked like that? I didn't come last night, it could have happened, ‘kan?” ask Evelyn.

“How can I spend time with another woman, Eve? Last night even I kept trying to contact you,” Leo argued. He rubbed his face. “Of course I ended up spending time with my friends.”

Evelyn was still silent, yet to respond to Leo's remark.

“Then, why didn't you pick up my phone this morning if all night you tried to call me?” evelyn replied after a long silence.

“Because last night you didn't come, I was drunk. I thought you were spending time with Nick, so I got frustrated and lost control. I ended up drinking quite a lot last night,” replied Leo, peppered with lies.

Seeing Evelyn who was just silent, Leo pulled Evelyn's body into his arms. “Eve, where might I betray you. No other woman can seduce me because I only love you,” Leo again.

Leo did not want Evelyn to be suspicious of him, so he had to seduce her to forgive him.

Luckily Leo had changed his clothes so that the scent of Angela's perfume on his shirt last night was unknown to Evelyn.

“I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have ignored your phone,” Leo said as he rubbed Evelyn's head.

Hearing Leo's persuasion, Evelyn slowly began to soften. The woman now returned Leo's embrace while closing her eyes.

“I'm also sorry that I didn't come last night,” Evelyn replied.

A smile expands on Leo's face. The man then kissed Evelyn's head crest with affection.

But, there is one thing that bothers Leo's mind at the moment that is the shadow about Angela. For some reason, Angela kept pestering her mind. It's as if Leo can't erase what happened last night between him and Angela.

“I love you,” says Leo.

Her lips even felt faint as she said that. Leo doesn't know what happened to him. What is clear is that now he can't erase the shadow about Angela from his mind.
