I Hate Love

"Darling, why do you say that?" angela looked at her nephew's pity.

"Mommy always ignores me and will always leave on the pretext of buying a new toy for me" said Little Alden with a wry look.

"Darling, if Mommy doesn't love you, she can't buy you a toy." Angela tried to calm Alden down even though she herself clearly knew the real answer.

Angela responded to Alden's words with a sweet smile. Inwardly, he felt pity for Alden. She knew that Evelyn could not possibly go to buy toys. Evelyn must have gone to see Leo. Too bad Alden, his mother prefers to spend time with his affair than her own son.

Despite her pity with Alden, Angela is happy that Evelyn went to see Leo. He smiled obliquely imagining what would happen to their relationship.

“What will we play, Alden?” ask Angela after they get to the garden behind the house.

“What if we play swing?” moan Alden's.

“Alright, come sit down. Aunty will encourage you,” said Angela, agreeing with Alden's proposal.

“Hore!!”

Alden sat in the swing chair. Angela happily pushed him and made the swing swing. Seeing Alden's laughter made Angela feel happy. To Angela, nothing in this world is more important than Alden and Nick's happiness.

After being satisfied to play, Angela invited Alden back into the house. While passing the stairs, Angela accidentally saw Nick was daydreaming on the stairs.

“Alden, go to your room first with your nurse. Aunty will follow later,” said Angela.

“OK, Aunt,” reply Alden then step away with his nurse.

Angela sighed, then walked over to Nick.

“Nick,” call Angela.

Nick flinched from his daydream. He raised his head, surprised to see Angela already standing in front of him. He doesn't even know when Angela's coming.

“Angela, when did you arrive?” ask Nick, trying to shine a smile.

“About an hour ago,” Reply Angela. “I was playing with Alden in the back garden.”

Nick nodded his head.

“You know, Nick. Sometimes I wish our parents were still alive. They will definitely help us to give affection and take care of Alden,” Angela said with a bitter smile.

Nick rubbed Angela's hair gently. He did not blame Angela. Angela had good reason to hope that way. However, Nick is also aware that Evelyn and he are responsible for giving Alden their undivided attention.

“Not sad. Even without our parents, I promise that I will make Alden and you happy,” Nick replied.

Angela shed her tears.

Since their parents died fifteen years ago, Nick has always looked after them and cared for them well. Even after getting married, Nick never ignored him. That's why Angela loves Nick so much. Angela cried when she realized that.

“Stt, don't cry. Do you want me to be sad to see you cry?” nick said as he wiped Angela's tears.

“I'm lucky to have a sister like you, Nick,” Angela said.

Nick smiled. “I'm also lucky to have a sister like you,” reply.

“I didn't expect Eve to be able to appreciate someone as sincere as you. What is he looking for in a man? You're already so perfect. Why would he hurt you?”

“Maybe I haven't tried enough,” replied Nick indifferently while raising his shoulders.

“Nick, why don't you just split from Eve? Wouldn't it be better to be apart than to be constantly hurt?” ask Angela.

“I love Eve so much and Alden needs his mother. I don't want Alden getting any further away from him,” Nick replied.

That answer was the one Nick always gave Angela.

“But, why? He's hurt you so much, Nick.”

“I'm sure Eve will change someday. I'll wait for that day to arrive,” reply Nick steady.

"What if he never changes? She doesn't love you Nick, why would you want to be hurt like this? Please, stop!" said Angela with the tone and look of the face that was also injured by the wound felt by Nick–kakaknya.

"I hate love. Love makes you weak, Nick" said Angela again when Nick did not respond.
