“Where have you been?”

The question made Evelyn who was climbing the stairs stop her steps. She raised her head, shocked to see her husband standing in front of their bedroom door while folding his hands in front of her chest.

Ignoring her husband's questions, Evelyn continued on her steps. As she was about to enter the room, her husband, Nick, held her arm. Evelyn stopped her steps, then looked at Nick confusedly.

“Let go of my hand, I'm tired,” Evelyn said as she removed her hand from Nick's grip. After that, she went into the room without caring about Nick.

“Eve!” call Nick in an elevated voice.

“What?” reply Evelyn cuek.

“You from anywhere?” ask Nick again.

Nick wants to know where his wife is going to the point of neglecting their six-year-old son. Nick doesn't matter if Evelyn wants to go outside. But, she did not like it if Evelyn ignored their child.

“I went for some fresh air,” Evelyn replied as she landed her ass on the edge of the bed.

“Seriously?”

Nick looked at his wife in disbelief. He's approaching Evelyn. From this close distance, he could smell the scent of alcohol on Evelyn's body. Which fresh air can give Evelyn the aroma of alcohol? Nick is not a stupid man.

“I just want to have fun. All this time I was just taking care of the house and the kids, I was tired. Can't I have fun?” ask Evelyn.

Nick rubbed his face in frustration.

“For God's sake, Eve, I don't mind if you want to go out and have some fun. But, don't ignore our son,” scolded Nick, annoyed that Evelyn actually turned angry at him.

Evelyn rolled her eyeballs. “You're overreacting, Nick. I just left our son for a moment,” Evelyn replied.

“Excessive? I overdo it?” ask Nick while shaking his head. He did not believe what he heard. If reprimanding his wife who went all day without permission from him is called excessive then Nick does not care.

Evelyn stood up. The woman folded her hands in front of her chest. He stared intently at Nick, annoyed that he had just returned home.

Nick clenched his hands tightly. As much as possible, he held back his anger that was about to explode.

“I don't forbid you from going outside. But, that does not mean you can freely meet your ex-lover, Leonard Rolando,” hiss Nick with teeth chattering.

She took her eyes off her husband, staring in all directions as long as it wasn't on her husband's caramel brown eyes. Evelyn's heart was beating fast. She was trying to tear apart her head, trying to find the right reason to deny her husband's accusation.

“Is my speech not clear enough?” reply Nick while grunting loudly.

“I don't understand.” Evelyn stuttered, trying to find a sentence to reply to Nick. “I didn't go see anyone, especially my ex-lover,” the rebuttal.

Nick smiled thinly. The man opened the nightstand drawer near the bed, then took some photos he got and threw them in front of Evelyn's face.

Evelyn stuttered. His eyes widened when he saw the photo Nick threw. He took some photos that fell on the floor, then looked at her in disbelief. He was very surprised.

‘Where did Nick get these photos?’ ask in the heart.

Nick was silent, waiting for Evelyn to react. She wanted to know if Evelyn would still dodge or not after seeing the evidence she had obtained. For weeks, Nick learned about his wife's affair. But she just kept quiet, thinking if Evelyn would change. But unfortunately, Evelyn did not change and that made Nick even more frustrated.

Her heart was broken but her love for Evelyn made her unable to leave her.

“Alright, I confess. I was having an affair!” evelyn.

Nick was silent for a moment. Hearing all of that from Evelyn's lips turned out to be much more painful.

“So that guy,” he said.

“What?”

“Sway him.”

Evelyn stared at Nick. Having already been caught off guard, she will not hide her relationship with Leo anymore.

“Never,” replies Evelyn, making Nick even more furious.

Without the two of them realizing it, their debate is overheard by Angel Jessi Ivana, Nick's younger brother.

Recently, Angel has been staying at Nick and Evelyn's house. Because Evelyn often neglects her child and leaves her child with a nurse, Nick asks Angel to accompany her son at home. Nick doesn't calm down if he lets his son alone with the nurse at home.

Angel had heard Nick and Evelyn quarrel. He even saw his brother-in-law several times being with another man. Now Angel knows who that guy is. He swore, he would find a way to keep Evelyn away from the man.
