The Hunter System

The Hunter System
Chapter 45 - City T In Danger Threat

Although Ivory and Jack had covered up what had happened inside the Dungeon, the, still the thing that was happening within the Dungeon had finally started to spread when the raid team who felt confused and aggrieved after knowing that all those monsters did not have a Mana core, talk about the results of the raid almost every day.

Because of that, the rumors regarding the raid eventually spread widely to several guilds in City T.

The news finally reached the ears of one of the three strongest hunters in T City, Robbie Cale, an A rank Warrior who was also the owner as well as the chairman of the second best guild in the city, Iron Wall.

.........

"The monsters that don't have Mana's core?" robbie Cale asked, as he happened to listen to the conversation of two of his comrades while they were wearing combat gear in the dressing room, just before they did a raid.

"Ah... Y-yes, Mr. Cale. Haven't you heard it?"

"Who's Dungeon is that?"

"It was a Dungeon purchased by the Flames guild. They closed the gate three days ago."

"That was three days ago? Where did you get that information?"

"It was just a rumor. But, the people who told me about the information said that the people from the Flames guild themselves were leaking it."

"The Flames guild people themselves huh?" Robbie muttered as he furrowed both eyebrows. He felt strange because Ivory had covered up such an important thing.

If Ivory hadn't covered it up, the Association would have known. If the Association found out, they would definitely invite all the guild leaders in T City to talk about such an important matter.

Curious about the information, Robbie took his phone and sent a short message to Ivory.

......................

Alvin took time to rest on a long bench around the park of his residence complex after he completed a jogging quest.

While sitting there, he checked the map specifically to see the Dungeon gates that he and Raymond would visit today.

While still looking around and sorting out which gate he wanted to go to, Alvin saw there was a green dot that was larger than the other green points.

Alvin already knew that the upcoming B rank Dungeon gate would display a point larger than the others, but only this time he saw there was an even greater point than the point of the B rank Dungeon gate he had seen.

"Will this be an A-rank Dungeon gate?" muttered Alvin, while pressing the point.

When the status of the Dungeon's gate appeared before him, Alvin was agape when he saw the estimated magic energy inside the Dungeon.

["Tsk... This is an A rank Dungeon."] Speak System suddenly.

"Can anyone conquer this Dungeon? The magic energy is huge!" exciting Alvin.

Alvin knew, in any hemisphere, A-ranked Dungeons very rarely appeared. Usually, B rank Dungeons were already considered the hardest Dungeons because A rank Dungeons were indeed rare, especially S rank Dungeons that were extremely rare.

["If you mean the hunter-hunters of this city, maybe no one will be able to. It took at least ten A-rank hunters and ten B-rank hunters to conquer it. Well, unless there were two S rank hunters then that Dungeon would definitely be resolved a little easier."]

Glup...

Forget about his S rank hunter. City T did not have any hunters ranked higher than rank A. In addition, as far as Alvin was concerned, City T only had 4 A rank hunters, including the chairman of the Association.

"What about me? Do you think I can shut down the Dungeon?"

["You don't have the strength to do it yet. Unless you're working with the hunters in this town."]

Alvin speechless. He knew that if City T was late in closing the Dungeon gate after its appearance, the citizens of City T would be the victims of the monster invasion that would come out of it.

["There's actually a solution. City T only needed one more A rank hunter and one S rank hunter,"]

["They already have 4 A rank hunters, right? You can cover one shortcoming. They only needed to hire 1 more S rank hunter, then the Dungeon would be resolved."]

"Do I have to tell this to the Association before the gate appears? They would probably have time to ask for help from another City or hire an S rank hunter from another City."

Alvin then remembered someone from City S who might be able to help. But after he thought again, that hunter might not be able to help.

'Honey, if Uncle Arthur could leave town S...'

Actually the neighboring city, City S, had 2 S rank hunters. Norman Lewis and Arthur Maxwell. But, one of them couldn't possibly leave City S. The tension that was going on between them, made the two of them afraid to leave S City in case the other party would invade his territory.

["You better tell the association. Remember, an A rank Dungeon only has a gate locking magic for 7 days, if they are late in finding a hunter to help overcome that Dungeon, Dungeon Break will definitely destroy this city."]

"Dam. I just moved to this town."

.........

"Hallo, Mr Rufino! Is something going on?"

He is daydreaming of the future of City T, the arrival of a dangerous gate, when Ivory suddenly appears before him.

"Miss Cruz...?"

"Do I bother you?"

"No... I'm just on break."

"May I sit down?"

"That's certain... Please," said Alvin who immediately shifted to provide space for Ivory.

["Why are you sitting at the end? This bench is quite long."]

'Can't you just shut up?!'

["Ups.."]

"Are you having a problem? I mean by adapting in City T."

"No... I'm so happy to live here."

Ivory smiled brightly upon learning of that.

"Thank God. I guess you might not like this town."

"No. I really like it."

"Good then."

After that conversation, the two were silent for a long time. The awkwardness was clearly visible on Alvin's face and attitude.

Ivory can feel the awkwardness and he re-opened the conversation, "Ah, yes. Are you okay if I invite you to dinner?"

"W-what?"

"Dining. Would you like to attend it?"

"That-that's..."

["Hey... That's a date, you idiot! Answer it correctly!"]

'Can you shut up!'

["Tsk... Why are you talking so excitedly to me and stuttering when you talk to him? Do you really like me?"]

'You...!'

"Mr Rufino?"

"Ah.., m-sorry..."

"You refused? I just want to properly thank you to you." Ivory said by showing her sad face very clearly.

"It's not like that..."

Ivory then narrowed her eyes, then spoke again. "You can also invite your partner if you feel uncomfortable."

"I don't have one" Alvin said quickly.

"Pff..."

Hearing Ivory's stifled laughter, Alvin's two cheeks blushed. Realizing that he was too excited to announce that he did not have a partner.

"Then, can you enter your number? I'll call you later." Pinta Ivory, handing her phone to Alvin.

Alvin stared at the phone for a moment before picking it up.

'Rimi, what's my contact number?'

<08xxxxxxx>

'thank you.'
