Chapter 179 - Mana Core Lorelei
"It's a shame that I can't come face to face with you, my student," Lorelei said, smiling bitterly at Alvin, whom she was referring to as well as Mina.
Being stared at like that certainly makes Alvin feel awkward.
While scratching his head, he nodded his head.
"I greet you, teacher's grandmother" said Alvin politely after realizing that the woman before him was Mina's teacher, meaning that she was his teacher's grandmother.
Alvin glanced at Anna.
Anna could understand the meaning of the gaze and immediately responded to it.
"She was the teacher of the goddess Ann. Goddess Ann my teacher. So she's also my teacher's grandmother" said Anna, answering exactly what Alvin was asking in his mind.
Both of Alvin's eyes widened. He looked at Lorelei in astonishment, then lowered his body a little lower as a tribute to the woman.
"It looks like you misunderstood," said Lorelei who then laughed. "Goddess Ann is much stronger than me. I'm just a teacher who taught him the basics of using a sword hundreds of billions of years ago."

'He's hundreds of billions of years old?'
"From that, open your mouth. There are a lot of things that I have to take care of and I have to get out of here quickly" Lorelei said.
"Y-yes, the teacher's grandmother."
Alvin opened his mouth wide and Lorelei threw the golf ball-sized blue crystal into Alvin's mouth.
Unlike what Alvin had imagined before, the extremely hard-looking crystal ball turned out to feel extremely soft as it entered into his throat.
Although initially a little stifling, but the crystal eventually glided smoothly to his chest.
Alvin turned his head back to Anna and saw the girl looking at him in annoyance.
"What's wrong?" alvin asked, feeling that something was making the girl seem prying.
"You're lucky" said Anna.
"Yes?"
"Because you already have a Mana core of some kind then you're not tormented."
Alvin did not understand but he kept nodding his head. But, he finally understood the intent of Anna's words after Mina told him how she almost died while swallowing the crystal ball because inside her body there was no Mana nucleus at that moment.
Mina also recounted how Lorelei threw away his old Mana core before replacing it with a new Mana core like the one Alvin swallowed.
["You're lucky because from the beginning Rimi has changed Manamu's core to the Manaku core. If not, you'll be as tortured as I was. The pain was really terrible."]
Alvin's eyes finally changed. He looked at Anna with empathy.
'He must have felt things like you too, right?'
["From his annoyed gaze, it seems so."]
Anna who could listen to the conversation between Alvin and Mina, snorted in annoyance.
But, before long, Alvin could finally feel the process of smelting the new Mana core that was fusing with his Mana core.
He could feel a different process of unification to what Anna and Mina had once felt. The process of unification really made him suffer, although not as much as Mina and Anna.
If the pain that felt like a deadly attack was coming from outside, Alvin would definitely not worry about it. He has self-defence and ignore damage that is so good that it is very difficult for an attack to touch his body directly.
However, because the pain comes from within the body and spreads throughout the vital organs, muscles and bones, the effect caused him to fall to his knees when the pain had filled his chest which felt very hot as if it was about to explode.
'F! What the fuck?!'
["Inner attack,"] said Mina who then laughed happily.

As Mina did not seem to bother explaining what was going on with Alvin, Anna who felt sorry finally explained the usefulness of the blue crystal and Alvin felt very grateful to Lorelei afterwards.

Alvin felt pain inside his body as he continued to kneel on the sand of the beach for more than 3 days.
He had difficulty breathing properly, and also had difficulty moving his body even if it was only a billion.
In addition, each feeling tired and about to move his body just a little, Alvin felt all his bones and muscles as if they were about to collapse.
After entering the fourth day, the pain gradually subsided until it completely disappeared on the fifth day.

Alvin took a deep breath for the first time after 5 days inside Anna's artificial planet.
After Lorelei's Mana gifting core fused with his Mana core thoroughly, Alvin felt many major changes within his body.
That combined Mana Core not only gave him a new strength, it also made his entire five senses much more sensitive than before.
'Lt's amazing! I can even sense if the Mana core within Hunter Equipment has fused with my Mana core as well!'

"You okay?" asked Cyntia who had just appeared from behind him.
Alvin turned his head and instead looked at Cyntia in astonishment, ignoring the woman's question to him, also instantly putting aside the great miracle that had just happened to him.
Cyntia understood the meaning of Alvin's astonished gaze. It must be because of his new powers.
"Can you feel it?" cyntia asked with sparkling eyes and smiled widely afterwards.
"Of course" said Alvin who also smiled happily after knowing to what extent Miyuki helped Cyntia also to increase Mana's energy capacity.
The two then turned around and went inside the magic portal which led them towards Miyuki's underground laboratory.
Alvin watches Miyuki who is busy with her computer.
The cute girl even responded only briefly when Cyntia greeted her and said goodbye to go to another room that was a bit away from her study.

Although Alvin could sense everything related to magic energy in the basement, still he asked Cyntia when he found out that Cyntia was taking him to a room that contained a large magic energy in it.
"We're going to that room?" alvin asked as he looked straight at the door located at the end of the dimly lit corridor.
"Yes. Miyu and Anna asked me to take you there when you were done with the process of unifying the Mana core.
"Miyu..," muttered Alvin.
Cyntia nodded with a cheerful face.
"She's the sweet girl you fought with."
"I know."
'Looks like that nickname is more suitable for me to use on you as well.'
["Call me Mina. Miyu it's her."]
'...Alright.'

Alvin and Cyntia finally arrived inside a spacious room containing only a statue of a woman in a full combat costume.
Alvin immediately admired the statue known as the avatar hunter when he could judge firsthand how good the combat set he wore.
"It is fitting that avatar hunter be a byword in cyberspace. It turned out that the status of his combat set alone was already this good."
Cyntia nodded in agreement.
"Not to mention the Mananya energy capacity," said Cyntia who also stared in admiration at the avatar hunter even though she had already seen the avatar when Miyuki and Anna invited her to go to this room before.
"This is Rin's hunter avatar that Miyu has upgraded," said Anna who suddenly appeared next to the avatar and immediately stroked the avatar's shoulders.

There was no answer from Rimi and it made Alvin a little surprised. Alvin never heard Rimi speak at all after his meeting with Miyuki.
