The Hunter System

The Hunter System
Chapter 121 - The Hero with No Name

"Speak. Or I'll kill you" said the creature again when Alvin was in his presence.

"Yes." Yeah."

The creature laughed.

He lifted Alvin's body, flew him several tens of meters above the ground, then slammed him hard.

Baaaaaaammmm!!!

The thick dust produced from the crater formed in the ground after Alvin's body was blown there, flying through the air.

Inside the crater, Alvin coughed and vomited a lot of fresh blood again.

During his life, only this time he vomited a lot of blood in just a few minutes. If he was just an ordinary S rank hunter, he would have been dead since earlier.

Alvin continued to channel the healing skill all over his body while still lying face down, also continuing to cough.

.........

After the dust fog that enveloped the area disappeared, Alvin could finally see the red-eyed man standing above the crater, alongside a monster figure similar to thousands of jet-winged black monsters and hunchbacked monsters. Their difference, the monster had 3 horns sticking out of its forehead and its body size was also much larger.

The dark purple-skinned man then patted the giant monster's thigh while talking to Alvin.

"I'm not going to kill you. But not with him" he said, looking at Alvin with a sympathetic look. "If you can kill him, then you'll be safe. If not..," he grinned broadly, "You're going to die,"

"Remember, even though he's as strong as that lich necromancer, but he's a fighter. Be careful, man."

After ending his words, the creature made a magic gate similar to the one the white-robed woman made, then entered and disappeared behind the gate.

......................

["You did it. He's gone."]

Still severely injured and with his bones yet to fuse perfectly, Alvin immediately rose to his feet as he felt that his body could be moved again.

He immediately activated the form of Hunter Equipment and then attacked the giant monster with hundreds of shuriken that he threw from both hands repeatedly.

The originally confident-looking giant monster widened its two eyes as the hundreds of shurikens that came over and over flew very quickly and stuck all over its body.

Crack... Crack... Crack...!

Unable to dodge and could only see the hundreds of shurikens formed from that Mana energy continuously infusing his body, the monster shouted out loud, enduring the pain that was now radiating throughout his body.

He could feel the foreign magic energy emanating from the shuriken surging all over his body, before finally exploding along with his massive body.

Booooooooom!!!

With just one strike, the giant monster exploded. His body rubble scattered in the air. His dark purple blood soaked the barren desert sand.

After finishing off the Dungeon's boss, Alvin stood still inside the crater for almost an hour, until Cyntia and the insect army came to see him.

"Is it done?" asked Cyntia, as she had arrived inside the crater, near Alvin.

"Yes" said Alvin quietly, without passion.

"Are you okay?" cyntia asked again after she felt there was something odd about Alvin's weak voice.

"I'm doing fine. Let's go to the magic pillar place," Alvin asked. He then stepped slowly up the sloping side of the crater with lethargic steps.

"...Yeah." yeah."

......................

The thing that City T's hunters feared the most, both those who were in front of the gate and those who were on their way to evacuate from City T, finally arrived.

There is no official countdown, though, the Hunters began to count down in their hearts when the time that the City T Hunter Association said the opening time of the gate-locking magic was 10 seconds away.

After their tally came to zero, the hunter-hunters and all the citizens of T City stared at their mobile screens with almost no flickering, view live footage from the front of the gate broadcast by the official website of the City Association of T.

But, everyone began to feel astonished when 10 minutes had passed, especially when 1 hour had passed since the appointed time, but not a single monster had come out of the gate.

The spectators were even more shocked after an hour and a half had passed and the gate had suddenly disappeared completely without any monsters ever coming out even though, as far as they knew, they had, no hunter did a raid at all.

.........

"The flight disappeared?"

"Did they both manage to destroy the magic pillar?"

"But where are they? Were they buried in the Dungeon?"

The questions were voiced by the hunters who were in front of the gate when the gate suddenly disappeared.

Seeing the commotion, Lex, who was trying to hold back the cry of his day, walked into their midst and spoke in a loud voice.

"Lords. Thank you for coming to this place to protect City T," Lex said in a loud voice at the beginning of his unofficial speech opener, to get the attention of all the hunters on him.

After all the hunters turned around and looked at him, Lex continued, "The flight has been successfully closed and we are all safe. Now we can go back to our own families and celebrate this success" Lex said in a trembling voice, clasping a piece of black leather in one of his hands.

"W-what... But..., what happened to them, Mr Brown? They're not out yet, are they?" robbie Cale said with a worried face.

Lex walked over to the man. He smiled gently and handed her the message written on a monster skin. It was the message that Alvin left Lex secretly shortly after he and Cyntia exited the gate using the ghost skill.

Robbie immediately opened the leather sheet that Lex handed to her.

"The monster and its pillars have been conquered. Please inform this to all citizens of City T without telling us our identities."

Robbie looked up, looking at Lex again as he handed the sheet to Revi who also directly read the message inside.

Ivory also read the message, then stared at the suitcase Cyntia had left on her, but it had vanished.

Before long, they all heard the sound of the car engine running, then the dark-pink sports car parked some distance away from where they were, left that location.

"They succeeded..," muttered Ivory.

"It's real, right? What rank are those two hunters really?" revi said slowly.

.........

"Mr Brown, who are they?" lowe asked Frostman, the only hunter who did not know who the two hunters were that entered into the gate, after he also read the message. "And...., when did they give you this message? I don't see anyone coming out of the gate." Lowe said with a confused expression.

Lowe looked at the hunters there, but they did not look astonished like him. Unlike Lowe, the hunters already knew who Alvin was from their guild leader's story.

And again, when Alvin came out of an A rank Dungeon first, he also did the same. Exit silently without being seen.

Lex smiled at him. His face was no longer grim. This was the first time Lowe had seen the expression of excitement, admiration and respect from the middle-aged man.

"They don't seem to want his identity to be known, Mr. Frostman. You've read the message, haven't you?"

"Y-yes?"

Lex patted Lowe's shoulder gently. His smile is getting wider.

"You might be confused as to why there are still hunters who hide their identity when they have achievements, right?"

Lowe nodded.

"You better not think about it. Let's just say they're nameless heroes" said Lex who then, for the first time in 2 days, laughed.

"..."

"Do you have free time? I'll host you properly as a Central Association representative willing to come help."
