Fighting the Fear of the Past

Early in the morning, Kenzo Karrin's black sedan was parked at the end of the boarding street. With a sneak, Sean came out without anyone knowing, even Luis who was snoring in his bed. The young man immediately got into Kenzo's car and told him to leave.

“Did you bring the stuff I told you to do?” ask Sean to make sure.

Kenzo's eyes glanced at the back seat and his fingertips pointed at the spot. “I did well. It's just ... Why did you tell me to bring an APAR tube?”

“Of course to put out the fire I'm going to sulutkan?” With a smile Sean only gave a light reaction. Of course this can only wrinkle half an eyebrow from Kenzo Karrin. Even so, the man ignored him and preferred to step on the gas pedal.

The car drove to the place Sean had determined before, Eleanor's orphanage.

Arriving at the place, Sean entered and took Steven Smith away, of course with permission from the head of the house. Together they go to the lake, but before that Sean tells Kenzo Karrin to bring his goods. The man complied with Sean's request even though inside his head had already piled up hundreds of questions.

“Who is he?”

One question from Kenzo Karrin could not be held back from coming out of his mouth. However, Sean simply looked at Kenzo and smiled meaninglessly.

“Dia?” Sean re-emphasized his words. All of those talks were related to Steven Smith walking in front of them. “He is a great painter candidate.”

Despite not knowing what Sean was talking about, Kenzo Karrin had no more chance to ask because they had already reached the main destination.

“It's up.” Steven Smith from the front turned his head and said. In front of him was already an old hut that he said was a place to hide something.

Steven didn't move again before Sean's order, and Kenzo Karrin was behind it. The two people just kept quiet and watched Sean's every move.

With nothing to say Sean stepped forward and took out something in his pocket. A black lighter was opened and ignited so that the fire came out of the axis.

‘Shop!’

The object was thrown and fell on the wall of the hut, not long ago the fire rose and made some of the building was devoured by fire.

“Sean, are you crazy!” Kenzo Karin exclaimed and came forward to immediately put out the fire, but Sean stretched out one of his hands so that Kenzo could only stop. With a lot of anger he looked at Sean sharply. “This is dangerous!”

Although Sean had seen an angry expression engraved clearly on Kenzo Karrin's face, but the young man simply shook his head as if there was a plan on his mind. Kenzo could only sit and watch.

Behind them, Steven Smith fell to the ground. His face was so pale and his body was shaken violently. He stared at the fire in front of him with wide eyes.

“To-please! Help me!” Traumatic events Steven Smith begins to react with the fire that Sean triggered. 

No mercy for him, Sean approached Steven and whispered in the ear. While staring at the flames in front of him, the young man tried to provoke Steven.

“It was just fire, anytime they could hurt you, hurt you and even. However, a fire as small as this cannot do that to you and I give the opportunity to extinguish it, otherwise.there is no guarantee they will remain in a small form.”

“I can't!” Steven Smith rebelled like a half-sane man. However, Sean held it back casually.

“In the hut there is still ‘Hidden Paradise’, if you do not immediately enter and bring the painting back … your fear of fire will burn your painting talent and you will not be able to return anything again?” sean said back, but Steven did not respond, he was still fixated on the fire that was blazing ever greater. Without pity, Sean whispered back to Steven. “You can do that.”

“A-I-I can't! Me ... Help me! Help u! Like a madman Steven was screaming.

“You know .. to overcome fear, you must fall in fear itself and burn all the fear you have.” 

Sean's advice changed Steven. However, he did not have a longer time to provoke Steven Smith. The more time stalling, the greater the flames and fires it will make ‘Hidden Paradise’ into ashes.

Sean is forced to carry one of the APART tubes in front of Steven. “Fire is your fear, only you alone can extinguish it.”

Steven Smith was a little moved. Although he bit his lips, Steven started to gather some constancy and as his hands clenched tightly, Steven got up. He took APART and sprayed it on the red-smoldering fire.

Sean crossed paths and smiled satisfied at the spectacle he had seen. Seeing that Kenzo Karrin turned to stare with a dislike feeling.

Sean returned Kenzo Karrin's gaze. “Not that I have said to overcome fear, you must fall in fear itself and burn all the fear you have without rest.”

As if he had gone through it himself, Sean looked back at the flames. His past memories returned to Sean's mind. His fear of Frans forced Sean to pawn his life to jump off a roof. Despite surviving, there is no other way for Sean than to burn his own fears. However, to fight the fear in Ellinden was not as easy as putting out an ordinary fire. He needed great strength to not just fight him, Sean would also destroy everything Ellinden had without remaining.

The fire seemed to be extinguished, not remaining. Above the ashes, Steven got up and went into the hut. He came back out with his paintings ‘Hidden Paradise’.

On the other hand, Sean hid his expression that looked relieved because the fire did not burn the painting. If something goes wrong, the mission of carrying the painting ‘Hidden Paradise’ will fail and Sean does not know the terrible punishment moreover that will be given to him.

Steven Smith approached Sean and gave him the painting. After the young man received it, Steven's tall body collapsed on the ashes. “I've done it? Did I really do it with my own hands?”

Sean smiled and lowered his body. In front of the pale-looking Steven, he picked up the lighter and turned it back on.

There was no reaction to Steven lulled in a dumbstruck face and his hands clenched over the ashes. Before long, his palms began to stretch and his lips went wide. Steven immediately grabbed the fire on Sean's lighter and extinguished it himself.

“True like that, you don't have to be afraid of anything anymore. The fire in your past was different from the red paint or the view in the afternoon. You can paint it without fear.”

Sean's words really do occupy Steven's mind. With that word also Sean managed to kill the fear of the teenager.

Before they parted ways, Sean told them to keep practicing painting and he would take Steven Smith to the fine arts faculty and develop his career there. Sean has also explained that the painting ‘Hidden Paradise' which is currently his will be used as a collection from the gallery.

Steven Smith did not seem to mind, he just nodded with a bright looking face.

Of the nine missions, only 'Hidden Paradise' had Sean successfully completed despite being in a slightly extreme manner.

“I wonder why you're reckless doing such a dangerous act?” At the helm, Kenzo Karrin began commenting on what had just happened. “... but I think the price of "Hidden Paradise' will be equivalent to the risk you take.”

Indirectly, Kenzo Karrin acknowledged the greatness of the painting from the hands of Steven Smith. However, for Sean that was what he had to do. 

No matter how heavy the incident Sean had gone through really made him want to go home and rest in the dorm room.
