Chapter 71 Steven's Confession

After treating each other's wounds, Steven returned the P3K box to its place and took a drink in the refrigerator for himself and Arya. Steven decided to talk after Dimas came.

At 8 p.m., Dimas finally arrived. He also brought food for dinner and some other groceries in the form of snacks and drinks in packs. After going inside, Dimas was confused to see Arya and Steven who looked battered.

"Who are you guys fighting? How was it in the battered?"

Arya and Steven just laughed at Dimas's question.

"Hey, I'm serious! Why are you guys getting battered like this?"

"Ask the same Arya! He started first!" Said Steven. Arya then explains the fight with Steven.

"For you are weird! Other people are sick even in battered!" Said Dimas while kicking Arya's leg under the table.

"Aww hurts, Dims! Okey... Okey... I'm not wrong... I'm sorry Tev. My way is overrated. I was sprained because you don't want to tell us about your condition"

"I don't want to tell stories, but I'm getting ready and I need time to think"

Arya finally understood and replied with a nod of her head.

"I met Sylvia, Tev" Arya said.

"Oh yeah? What did he say?"

"She just said to ask you directly about your illness. He was wondering why you haven't told us"

"Well, I haven't told anyone, including my family. The plan is tomorrow I'll be home"

"I was actually scared this morning for nanya to you, Tev. Especially to Sylvia. That's why Arya met Sylvia, not me. But I still have to nanya too, what exactly are you sick of, Tev?" Dimas finally ventured to ask Steven.

After a long sigh, Steven finally spoke.

"Lung cancer stage 2, Dims... Yes'... "

"I told you I need time to calm down. And make a plan for the future"

"What's your plan, Tev?"

"Tomorrow I will gather the family, including Aldo who again in Surabaya. I know Aldo hasn't been in Surabaya for a year, but because of the treatment schedule I'm going to take a lot of time, so I decided to resign from the company and asked Aldo to replace me until an unspecified deadline"

"Yes indeed. But I don't have any other choice, do I? For that I have a backup plan. If the cancer cells in my body grow and things get worse, I'll ask you to step in"

"How's it going, Tev? We don't have the power for that?" Ask Dimas curiously. Sometimes Steven likes to have ideas beyond reason that no one else thinks of.

"I've bought a lot of shares, so you'll have rights as part of the company's board of directors"

Dimas and Arya looked at each other in amazement. So far, it's Steven's plan.

"Tev, but... "

"I know your thoughts, Dims. You think I've been thinking too far, right? But I have to think about this step for the sake of the survival of the papi company"

"I support you, Tev. If the situation is not controlled anymore, surely I will also ask for help from people who have power outside your company" said Arya

"Good, I think you know what I mean. So after this my focus is on the treatment of my illness. Next plan I'll think about again"

"Well, whatever your decision is, we will continue to support, Tev. No one wants to talk about it anymore, right? I'm hungry, let's ah we eat. And you Tev, must want to eat with us, do not refuse again like yesterday Arya told me. If I need to bribe like a kid" Dimas said.

Arya just laughed at Dimas' words, as did Steven. After that the three of them ate on the balcony while breathing fresh air outside and looking at the bustle of the city crowd below.

The next day, Steven who returns to his family home asks Dimas and Arya to come to his house after coming home from work. Coincidentally on that day the work was not too dense.

Arya has returned to work with Dimas after spending 4 days to calm her mind after her emotions drained when she learned the truth about her father secretly remarrying.

Due to return home on time from the office, around 18:30 pm Dimas and Arya arrived together at the Steven family home. Steven came home early that day. In the afternoon around 4 p.m., Steven was home.

Dimas and Arya are greeted by Steven's father who mentions that Steven is in the backyard playing with his beloved dog which he named Jade. When Dimas and Arya were in the backyard, they saw Jade sleeping on a small rug reserved for her to sleep in.

Steven was observing Jade sadly while stroking her white, thick, and smooth fur. Jade is an American Eskimo dog. Eye color is black. Steven named Jade because Jade used to love to play the jewelry of her mother who was green.

When Dimas and Arya approached Steven, Steven immediately talked about Jade.

"Jade's been here a long time and he's old too, it's been over 10 years. I think he's getting weak and sick. If he and I don't live long, the plan is that I want to be cremated to be together."

"Tev, this idea of yours seems to be a bit in space" said Arya, who was surprised to hear Steven's plan.

"Please you'll permit you to be cremated? I don't think so, Tev. You have to think positively and have the spirit to heal, we definitely support you, Tev" Dimas said.

Steven only smiled when he heard the words of his two best friends.

"And I told you this was a backup plan. I'll also say the same papi. I think papi would also agree that I persuaded."

Dimas and Arya could only shake their heads at Steven's plan. It seems Steven's mental health also needs to be treated in addition to his physical health.
