97. Retirements

Alina and Rico's wedding went really well. Happiness is felt by everyone present. There was no suffering at all, only happiness filling the whole room, so warmth was created for each other.

Before the event actually ended, all the invited guests who were still there were asked to settle down. There will be an important announcement to be made by the Renaldi family there.

Everyone seemed to be waiting impatiently. Many assume Irfan will announce the cooperation of the two families. There is also a guess if Irfan will make a new business with Thomas. No one knows what announcement Irfan will make, but various other assumptions are endless in the minds of the people who are there.

Irfan and Santi approached Thomas and Zara who were sitting with their children. While Rico and Alina who had just approached both parents were asked to approach the other invited guests. They chased away the newlyweds as if there was something to be kept secret from the two of them.

Alina and Rico did not refuse, they went from there and to approach Rena and Andi. The two of them had already approached his other friend and it seemed like they would settle down on Rena's bench alone to have a light chat while waiting for their parents.

"You guys got kicked out?" andi asked jokingly to her friend.

"Eitherway. It seems they want to surprise us" said Rico who was full of confidence but impressed jokingly for Andi.

"It's very self-confidence. Maybe you are not important in the conversation, so not included," said Andi again.

"If you say don't like it carelessly, then really what happens?" said Rena then who interjected between the two men's chat.

Andi who is still disinclined with her boyfriend can only be silent to hear the words of Rena. Today he could not dwell because he realized that he was not firm in making decisions. He also realized that he had indirectly toyed with Rena's heart by not giving certainty to his relationship.

Rico and Alina just laughed to see Andi with his expression, they still did not realize that the lovers were not getting along. Until Rena accidentally snapped Andi because the man who kept ignorant to his friend, then Rico and Alina were stunned by his hers.

"You guys fighting?" ask Alina.

Rena does not answer Alina's questions, she seems lazy to discuss her relationship with others, even though their friends. While Andi again only silent because he did not want to get into an argument with his girlfriend, especially in public.

"Ndi, Ren, please yes, it's our happy day, why are you fighting" Rico said later. He even stared intently at Andi, causing the man to swallow his saliva.

"We don't fight, just misunderstand. We'd better forget, we'll take care of this in private" Andi said later. He looked towards Rena, holding the back of her hand with a faint smile.

Rena who did not want to mess up her friend's happy event, finally sighed. Just this once he did not want to be selfish with his feelings.

"Don't think about it, I'm just badmood with him. Sorry to make you uncomfortable" said Rena trying to smile.

After a while talking with his family and also his besi, Irfan and Santi went up on stage. They cleared their throat for a moment to grab the attention of the invited guests who were still there. After all eyes were on the two of them, then they gave an opening for the announcement they were about to make.

"I'm sorry if it took you guys longer. My wife and I will not talk much, we will only convey some information that may be important enough for our family and also our ongoing or ongoing cooperation" Irfan said.

"I personally want to say if I'm going to retire in the next year or two."

Everyone was shocked to hear Irfan. A pension? The middle-aged man was about to retire at his age who had just entered fifty years old?

They seemed to have misheard the revelation of the middle-aged man because it was so unreliable. Kusuk's voice began to be heard and everyone seemed to question the reason behind Irfan's sudden decision. But Irfan and Santi who have been able to guess about this do not feel disturbed, even they can guess how the response of the people there will be what they want to say next.

"We've both thought carefully about this decision. We will also bequeath all the property we have so far to our only child, Rico Renaldi."

Surprise was growing among all that was in the room. The average surprised there are those who know the true status of Rico in the Renaldi family. For those who do not know it, there is no need to be surprised because they think what Irfan and Santi do is a common thing that parents will do to their children.

At Rico's table, the four of them were very surprised by Irfan's decision. Rico even went silent in disbelief of what he had just heard. I really can't believe it because it's so sudden for him.

"No, no way," he said.

Rico was still speechless, his gaze blank with a mind that could not be cooperated with. Thousands of questions began to appear in his brain about the reason his parents decided this very big thing. No compromise or short notice to him.

Rico looked at Alina with a still surprised look.

"Al, tell me this isn't true" said Rico, who tried not to believe everything he had heard.

"You didn't hear wrong, Co. Papa Irfan and Mama Santi had thought through all of this carefully, as they had said."

Alina though also as surprised as Rico, but he still reassured Rico if everything he had heard was true. Alina becomes more convinced that the love of Santi and Irfan towards Rico is very big and sincere. They were even willing to give their entire fortune to a child who was not even his own flesh and blood. Which is where almost no adoptive elder would do the same to them. 

Alina is very proud as well as feeling very lucky to have gotten a male figure with a very good family like Irfan and Santi. Will it all end beautifully like any romantic movie he's ever seen? Or is it just the beginning of their story that maybe there will be a tough test that will befall their relationship?
