123. Left Out of Town

That afternoon on the way to Renaldi's residence, Alina looked piqued in the face. The woman looks very upset when she finds out that her husband is going to do his service out of town tomorrow, replacing her father-in-law who suddenly fell ill this afternoon.

Alina did not blame her father-in-law for her husband's departure from the city, but Alina was upset that Rico would leave her for 3 days. She who during her pregnancy was always spoiled by her husband, felt very lost when she found out if her husband was going to leave for 3 days. 

Rico could not do anything about his wife's annoyance. He also just got word this afternoon if he had to take his papa out of town by morning. 

Irfan has been looking good since morning, and after being taken to the hospital, it turned out that the doctor advised the middle-aged man to rest for the next few days because his condition is currently declining. Irfan is indeed exhausted because some days take care of a fairly important job in the office with Rico. But because of his age that was no longer young, he did not expect it to fall like this. 

Rico was very uncomfortable seeing his wife who kept him quiet.

"Darling, come on. Don't get mad like this. I'm actually too heavy to leave you for 3 days, but how else? Papa is sick, I can't possibly force him to leave in such a state. Here I'm the only one who can replace papa to leave."

Alina was still silent, not answering her words. 

"Dear, please speak. Don't leave me like this. I'll only go 3 days, nothing more."

"But I can't be far from you" said Alina without looking at her husband. 

"Darling, I was gone for only three days. I promise, once the job's done, I'll go straight home. We'll always make video calls if I'm not with a client."

Rico stroked his wife's cheek gently, making Alina stare at him.

"You promise to keep calling me?. Keep me informed wherever you are?"

"Yes, Honey. You take it easy."

"Anyways, be careful if you don't even bother me. I'm gonna have bang Morgan track down your location to make sure you don't lie."

Rico smiled amusedly at the words of his wife. Was his wife jealous of him?

"Yes, Sweetheart. You take it easy, I won't probably lie to you. I will always call you and send you messages. When I get to the hotel, or when I'm eating, when I want to sleep, or when I'm done with my work" Rico said with great confidence.

Despite knowing that her husband could not lie to her, Alina still did not willing to let go of her husband for more than one day. But how else, she could not do anything and was forced to let her husband go even with a heavy heart.

The night before falling asleep, Alina hugged her husband tightly while looking at his handsome face carefully. For some reason now Alina wants time to stop so that there is no tomorrow that will make her part with her husband. 

Rico realizes that his wife has not fallen asleep and opens his eyes. He looked at his wife who was staring at him in silence. 

"Darling, why aren't you sleeping?" rico asked while trying to slip his wife's hair behind his ear.

"I can't sleep" said Alina.

"Why? Is her stomach uncomfortable?" ask Rico. 

Alina shook her head.

"I can't sleep, because with me sleeping, time will surely pass. When you wake up, you must have gone to work out of town."

Hearing his wife's words, Rico sighed with a faint smile.

"Darling, you should go to sleep. You are currently pregnant, do not stay up. I don't want anything bad to happen to you and our son" Rico said.

"But I also don't want you to go away for so long."

Rico smiled back.

"Darling, I'd say, if I only went 3 days and anyway, we'd always be making video calls, so you don't have to worry. Now let's close your eyes, let's go to sleep."

Two seconds silent, then Alina closed her eyes without intending to say her husband.

The next day Alina is escorted by Irfan's personal driver to leave for the office. Rico could not drive him to work because the man had to leave early in the morning to catch a flight. 

On the way to the office, Alina's phone is always on which is currently airing a video call with her husband. Rico was still at the airport because his plane was about to fly in about 20 minutes. 

"Darling, you don't like that dong his face. Smile, so that happiness continues to flow in our children who are currently in your stomach."

"How can I be happy while my husband is away from me."

"Darling, I'll just go for a minute. Come on, don't worry me by saying that. Here I want to do the job quietly so that everything can be finished sooner and can go home to see you."

"All right, I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm so sensitive like this. I've never been like this before, but I used to be so far from my family."

Rico smiled at his wife's words. 

"Of course it's different, honey. You are pregnant now. Hormones of a pregnant woman does like to make the mood change. I don't blame you for feeling this way, but you can't lose with how you feel now. You must be able to control your feelings and continue to be happy for our child and yourself."

Alina breathed. It was true what her husband said. This pregnancy hormone does often make his mood changeable, even things that he had never feared so far he now feels. As Rico said, he must not constantly follow his feelings and ignore his happiness. Because what he knows from his parents, everything he feels while pregnant, all of it will also be felt by his prospective children who are currently in his stomach.

Because she did not want her child to be okay, Alina also tried to fight this sad feeling and try to stay happy with whatever the conditions.

During Rico outside the city, Alina accidentally stayed at her parents' residence because she felt lonely when she was at her husband's residence. In the depths of Renaldi there are only Irfan and Santi, which maybe sometimes they like to travel. While at home, at least he can go to work with Morgan or play with his nephew when Marissa comes home. 

But unfortunately tonight his brother-in-law can not stay at his parents' house because tomorrow morning he must welcome his important guest, namely, his old friend.

Marisa is actually a native of Indonesia. It's just that he doesn't live in this town. He met Alfian on holiday with his friend in London and was in a relationship until marriage. Marissa also never again came to her hometown because there was no one there anymore. Both of his parents are divorced and live with each other. While Marissa herself followed Alfian settled in London and eventually moved to this city. 

It just so happens that today an old friend of Marissa is at work in this town, so Marissa asks him to come to her house before returning home. Make Marissa could not stay at the residence of her in-laws because she had to welcome the arrival of her good friend in the morning.

That afternoon Rico's number could not be reached. Alina thinks her husband is still with her client, so that's why he hasn't called her yet.

On the way home, Alina, who missed her husband, opened a photo gallery on her phone. She scrolls from top to bottom with photos of the two of them, from dating to pregnancy. Alina gave a big smile looking at the photo of her and her husband, but the smile instantly subsided as her phone screen suddenly changed into a voice call notification. Seeing Rena calling him, Alina immediately answered the call of her friend.

"Hello, Ren," said Alina first.

"Al, said Andi, Rico is out of town?" ask Rena.

"So two days he was gone. Maybe I can go home tomorrow. Why the hell?" ask Alina.

"Are you at your mom's house or your in-laws tonight? Coincidentally tonight Andi has to go out of town because tomorrow morning she has to meet an important client."

"I'm at mom's house. You want to stay here?" alina asked excitedly as she felt like she was going to get a bedmate for the night. Though not her husband, at least tonight she will not be alone.

"Can I?" ask Rena.

"of course. Rico's out of town, I'm so lonely."

"Al, you didn't mean to make me Rico's replacement, did you?" asked Rena meaningfully and cautiously. 

Alina chuckled as soon as she heard the statement of her friend.

"Am I crazy? It's not possible. I just need a friend to not be alone, Ren. Yes, you go straight to the house later."

"alright. After the shower, I'll go straight to your house."

Alina agreed and after that they closed their respective calls. Although none of her husband accompanied her to sleep, at least tonight she had Ren to be her chattermate. After all, they had not stayed together for a long time, so he missed having a long chat with his chatty friend.
