It did not feel like Rudi had been in prison for three days and two nights. Rudi was still wearing the same clothes, no one had given him a change of clothes. Rudi gets two meals a day and he does not get a cigarette ration.
For two days he had a headache and it always happened at night. Every afternoon he felt a headache that made him want to hit his head against the wall. Not only a headache, Rudi was also struck by a cold that made his entire body shiver.
Rudi's third day in prison. He was already very prepared to deal with the headaches and chills as usual. Two o'clock in the afternoon and soon he'll feel it. There was nothing he could do, Rudi was just mentally preparing so that the pain that was to come did not drive him crazy.
For two hours he just sat still and did nothing. As he began to feel pain in his head, suddenly two policemen opened the prison door and took him to the front or place where the police gathered.
At one table in the room was a veil-wearing woman sitting and chatting with the same police officer who interrogated her three days ago.
The policeman seemed to be very familiar with the veiled woman. In Rudi's mind he thought about who the woman was, Rudi assumed that the woman was Marni.
Rudi was handcuffed and told to sit some distance away with Marni. Meanwhile, Marni continues to chat coolly with police with thick mustache and distended stomach. Marni did not turn her head in the direction of Rudi.
"Alright, everything can be arranged. But there was one thing he had to do" the policeman said.
"What's that?" Ask Marni.
"He had to undergo rehabilitation for two weeks under the supervision of one of our members"
"That's all?"
"Yes that's all. How can it be done?"
"Can, I'll vouch for the man"
After saying that, Marni turned her head towards Rudi and opened her veil. Then the policeman sitting opposite her turned towards Rudi as well and nodded his head.
The two policemen who took Rudi then removed the handcuffs in Rudi's hands.
"You can go home, but there are some things you should know later and this Miss will explain to you"
"Ready sir!" Reply Rudi.
After that two policemen who were standing next to Rudi left him. Rudi looked towards Marni who was still staring at her. Rudi looked confused and Marni just smiled before returning to chat with the police.
After a few minutes of chatting, Marni picked up a brown envelope from her bag. The envelope was quite thick and he handed it to the police in front of him. The policeman immediately accepted it without peeking at what was inside.
After that Marni stood up and followed by the policeman, the two of them shook hands. Rudi still looked at Marni with a face full of question marks. He doesn't know anything about what Marni is doing.
"Let's go home Rud" Marni asked.
Without asking anything, Rudi immediately stood up and walked behind the woman who had just guaranteed herself.
Rudi followed the woman. The two of them then intercepted one of the angkot and Rudi also entered it.
Rudi was still sitting quietly beside her without asking anything about what Marni had just done. Marni too, she did not say anything even she did not tell Rudi where they were going.
The freight then stops somewhere and Marni also goes down there.
They then walked a few meters until they arrived in front of a house with a white fence. The house looks very messy, Marni opens the fence and opens the door.
Marni entered the house and Rudi began to step into the House. A thing he never thought of. The house whose front is full of wild plants and some clothes clothesline turned out to have a stunning view in it.
One table and several sofas that surround it make the room look very elegant. Rudi could not turn away from that beautiful sight.
Long enough to observe the room until he felt something strange, he felt that there were some things in the room that reminded him of the room in his own house. Although not similar, but the nuance that Rudi felt was the atmosphere he used to feel when he was at his home first.
"Sit Rud" said Marni.
Rudi sat on one of the couches and Marni went into one of the rooms. Rudi waited long enough for Marni to come out of her room.
A beautiful sight that made Rudi stunned in silence without saying anything, even his two eyelids could not stop opening.
The woman in front of Rudi was like not the Marni he used to see. Marni took off her veil, she was wearing only long pants and a sizable t-shirt.
Semi-curly hair in black and dark brown in the back pigtails. A beauty that made Rudi amazed.
"What do you want to drink?"
"White water only"
Marni took a glass and filled it with water from the dispenser in the room. Then she gave it to Rudi and sat down next to him.
Rudi drank the water given by Marni. Suddenly his head hurt again, his body began to feel cold. Rudi tried to hold him back.
"Are you okay, Rud?"
"I... Da... I'm fine."
"You look weird"
Rudi was still trying to endure the pain. The longer he held it the worse the pain. Rudi couldn't hold it back anymore and he started shivering and beating his head.
Marni did not look panicked, the woman went into her room and then she came out with something in a black box container.
Marni pulled a cigarette out of the black box. He then sat down to Rudi and gave the cigarette to him. After Rudi received it, Marni pulled out a match and helped Rudi light her cigarette.
Rudi began to slowly suck one cigarette given by Marni. Slowly the headache and his shivering body began to subside. Marni again brought a glass of water for Rudi to drink.
"How's it going?" Marnie tried to ask.
Rudi nodded and he asked where he got the cigarette from. Marni answered him and Rudi continued to smoke the cigarette he had just smoked several times.
After quite a while, Rudi began to feel that he had recovered enough. He looked directly at Marni as if he wanted to ask her for an explanation.
"Why do you guarantee myself?" Rusty asked.
"Are we not friends?"
"Where do you know that I'm in prison?"
"There's a relative of mine standing guard at the police station"
"Have enough questions, you must be hungry right? It's money and buy food up ahead" Marni continued.
