Chap 20 - Rakt Rage

Teressa gets a strange feeling since the departure of Rakt. He closed his butcher shop, and immediately went to find his older brother Lug. Teressa ran as hard as she could towards the forest, she knew that the man must be inside the forest–that's obvious, right?

The sun had revealed itself, the sky was starting to brighten with white clouds. But in an instant, the white cloud turned black, accompanied by a red lightning bolt that struck with great force and streak. Teressa was not afraid if it was just an ordinary cloudy cloud, but her premonition said that it was a bad sign. Not only that, the wind was blowing hard, blowing dry leaves and hit Teressa's face. What's the matter? Why is this forest raging? Have I done anything wrong?

Arriving at the spacious hill, Teressa paused for a moment to rest her body. His breathing was wheezing, running to and fro looking for where Rakt was. After managing to catch her breath, Teressa shouted out loud.

"RISTER!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!!!"

His voice made things worse. The wind was getting stronger, the black clouds were getting thicker. Teressa really doesn't know what's going on. He just thought that there was something bad–might attack him.

Teressa even fantasized that the shady trees that surrounded the field became monsters, growing feet from the roots and hands of the branches, and eyes and mouth on the trunk. Teressa immediately shook her head quickly, trying to break free from her monstrous delusion.

Somewhere, there was a figure whose entire body was covered by a black shadow, while his eyes sparkled emitting an extremely bright red radiance. A powerful murderous intent radiated from him. The figure turned his head back for a moment after hearing the sound of a shout, his eyes were shining sharply, as if he said, there is new prey.

The figure immediately grabbed the grass, running like a lion chasing its prey. His speed was extremely fast, the bright red look of his eyes was imprinting in the air and fading rapidly.

"What's that?!" Teressa was aware of the presence of a foreign figure approaching her. Instantly he raised his hand to chest-high, a luminous magic circle at his fingertips, revolved and directed his hand along his gaze, as a weapon to warn of a figure that might just attack him. At the same time, Teressa regretted something. I think what you said was true, I should practice my magic. His face was a little compassionate, self-pitying in case he could not escape in a situation involving his life and death.

SHREEKH

There was a crackling sound among the wild grass that grew waist-deep. Teressa turned her head and pointed her hand towards the direction the voice came from.

"WHO'S THAT?!"

The figure moved in the other direction. The movement was clearly read because it was clashing with tall grass, and that was what made it difficult, the figure was covered in grass, it was difficult to see the original figure. It's very fast, it's moving to and fro. Teressa is difficult to determine where the creature will go.

Suddenly the atmosphere became silent, the figure no longer showed its movement. Teressa is confused as to where the creature disappeared. He looked to the right and to the left looking for where the mysterious creature was hiding. But Teressa was unaware, the figure peeking out from behind her shoulder. The eyes of the figure sparkled, shining a fiery red light. And his body was covered by a pitch-black shadow that resembled a mist.

Just when Teressa turned her head, she saw a very familiar figure in her eyes. Yes, she is Rakt, the man who had become her husband in his delusion–ah, not that. I mean the guy who helped her sell at the bazaar, hehe.

"RISTER?!"

Teressa was shocked to fall. Rakt looked at her very sharply and did not help her stand up. His face was like that of a starving wolf that had obtained its prey, his eyes were fiery red, and his veins were enlarged and radiant, emitting a red glow.

"What are you doing?!" exclaim Teressa. "It's me! Teressa! What happened to you?!" Rakt was completely speechless, Teressa was so scared she couldn't stand up.

SHRAAAK

Rakt hit Teressa with his long claws. Teressa was thrown away and rolled away. He groaned in pain, crying out for the events that were happening to him at this moment. Am I going to experience something like that a second time? Teressa recalls being chased by a large bear that was eventually killed by a small child. But Teressa knew that Lug would not come.

Rakt looked down and walked like a wolf. And Teressa was not able to stand anymore, her legs were injured because of a sharp hard object– pointed stone at the time of rolling just now. Wrapping four large scratches on his cheeks, his blood flowed until it dripped down onto the ground. His clothes became very dirty– was filled with soil and his blood spots.

Teressa struggled to stand up, but her body was helpless again. Rakt walked slowly towards the blonde girl. Giving more severe intimidation by exhaling his very heavy breath, as if the breath coming out of both nostrils was a pale white hot cloud.

And all of a sudden, there was a deer that saved Teressa. Rakt immediately turned to the deer, then he quickly chased the animal as quickly as possible. As Rakt left, Teressa again struggled to stand up, and finally her legs were able to support her entire body. It was just that Teressa was unable to run, she just walked slowly with her strides faltering. Immediately headed to a large tree, leaning his body on the trunk of the tree while enduring the pain in his legs.

What the hell happened to him? Wasn't Rakt okay at first? Think Teressa. The girl still had time to think about what happened to Rakt, while she was just injured by the man.

It was fortunate that Teressa had studied healing magic, becoming the last magic she mastered of all the magic she had mastered. Magic three circles, Palms of Light Hands. As the name suggests, the palm of the user's hand will emit light and heal the injured part of his body. Teressa tries to heal her legs first, so that she can escape from Rakt who is somehow possessed.

Not lingering, after feeling a little comfortable Teressa immediately went away while Rakt still had not come to him. But her thinking was too naive, Teressa had already spent as much as ten minutes to heal herself, and it was enough for Rakt to come back to her soon. It's just that Rakt is still not coming, and Teressa is taking advantage of the situation.

The black clouds in the sky had faded a little, but that did not mean that there was no more. The black clouds in the sky only faded slightly, and the thunder still boomed.

Feeling that it was far enough to run, Teressa also rested behind a thick bush. There he straightened his legs and immediately healed them. Ankles, calves, to the thighs are filled with a tingling feeling. And the injured knee of his left leg made his condition worse.

I don't think today's events will get any worse, inner Teressa. Everything that happened to him was already very bad, moreover he was heavily injured on his legs and face. Rakt who suddenly went berserk and hurt her had hurt her heart. Fear has filled Teressa's mind and mind. The girl continued to shake her head, trying not to believe everything that happened today, occasionally closing her eyes and groaning in pain from her injuries.

"If only there was a Lug ... Maybe it's better" murmured Teressa. Then the girl shook her head, "Maybe not. That kid's a kid, I don't think he's ever known any of this either. Or I thought ... " Indirectly, this girl had trusted and acknowledged Lug's kindness.

Suddenly, there was a noise coming from the hill before. Teressa believes it was Rakt who was looking for her. Has he found me? This fast? How fast does his leg run? Oh no, he's crawling. Damn, he ran with his two legs and two arms. He's like a wolf.

Teressa stood up and went back to look for a hiding place again, but her voice drew closer. If he moves a lot, it will make a lot of noise, just like revealing his hiding place.

Teressa lifted her legs, on her tiptoes slowly, towards the clearing ground, beside which was a huge towering tree. And when it was about to arrive, there was a figure who opened the bushes violently. Teressa jumped in shock and fell, her butt hitting the ground violently.

And it turns out that who opened the bushes was a man of the same age who wanted to hunt. The man had a rather dark complexion that was filled with sweat all over his body, had a thin mustache and beard, some of his hair was still black and others had turned white, and others had turned white, his body was a bit thin but not like a malnourished person. The man carried a dagger sheathed on his waist, the scabbard was made of old wood tied with a dark blue slap strap whose color had begun to fade. Wearing a thin sleeveless shirt with dirty white color that is not too long, even occasionally the navel appears, and short pants are brown mud with a thick cloth that has been torn. "Hey," call him. "Why are you here? What are you doing here alone?"

Teressa looked up, she was grateful not Rakt who approached her. "I-i ... I'm looking for someone" he said stuttered. "He went into the forest and ... Suddenly he's on a rampage."

"Ract?! The Vans' son?"

Teressa was surprised, "You know?" tanyakanya.

"Just be clear. He's very famous in the village, like to go berserk like you said, because that's a lot of people who stay away from him."

"What?" Teressa flabbergasted. She had never heard of it from anyone, only this time she heard it from the mouth of a stranger–actually Teressa had met the man once on the day the bazaar first opened–with a woman, it is possible that his wife at the time of building his shop and they seem to be a tailor who sells woven and knitted fabrics.

"You're his family, how can you not know?" Shortly after the man corrected his own words, he understood that the blonde-haired girl before him was a foster child whose origin was unknown. "Ah, I don't think you've been told."

Teressa nodded quickly, and it made her back neck hurt. He healed her slowly with his magic. "Is that some kind of curse?" tanyanya rubbed her back neck.

"Yes," replied the same-age man who was justifying the rope that tied the dagger sheath around his waist.

"What curse is that?"

"I don't really understand, but he said the curse was called Blood Putrefaction. He said the curse would come out if he started to become unconscious, the thing that could trigger him was like excessive fatigue. I don't know, but more or less that's the explanation."

Teressa began to understand at least a little. Even so, he could understand the true meaning of–at least be able to deduce his point. "The curse was carried from birth?"

The man whose hair was almost completely bleached nodded. Then his gaze returned to Teressa, "I don't know in detail, that's all I know. But for sure, the curse is said to have suffered since Rakt was born."

Teressa, who had been drowning in fear, was now filled with sympathy. His gaze also began to change slightly which his originally curious turned into full of sadness.

"But the rumors are beginning to die down" the man continued. "Since Lug was born, her brother was no longer a feared thing. Many things happened at the time of his birth, it could even be said that the curse that Rakt had now was already very much more mengindian."

Teressa returned flabbergasted. On his head began to shadow Lug and even Lug at the moment of still being a baby. If it's luck, yes, Teressa feels it's true. She met him and was saved, the bear that was about to attack him suddenly fell down and could not stand up again. And the child also has a variety of unique magic three circles which in the historical record there has never been a child aged five years who is able to have magic three circles let alone in large numbers. The child ... He's like the luck of this village - no! But maybe luck to his family and this village gets a little profit.

"Have you ever heard of Lug ever having three-circle magic? Know it? It was impossible to happen, the five-year-old understood the magic of the three circles and mastered it, very miraculous. In fact many thought he was a god drop that was disbanded (born) to the village of Nedhen." The man's face twinkled, as if he really admired Lug.

Suddenly, a question rippled in Teressa's mind for a moment after seeing the dagger on the man's waist in front of her. "Oh yes, sir, how can you be in the middle of the forest? You're hunting?" tanyanya.

The man replied, "Yes. I saw Rakt and ran away, like he was eating something. But he saw me, so I fished him out with a deer archery and the deer made a fuss, and then I ran away here."

Hearing her reply, Teressa was shocked and immediately shook the man's hand. "Thank you, sir, you saved me" he said.

The old man's eyes widened, "What?!" yells. "So the one that almost got preyed on was you?! Thank goodness I didn't take the wrong action."

And after that, the black clouds in the sky slowly began to fade. The thunderous lightning and thunder had already disappeared completely. The old man was aware of something. "If not wrong, every time Rakt rampaged there would definitely be black clouds in the sky."

"Like a curse from the devil," Teressa chimed in.

"Yes, but how do you know it's similar to a demon curse?"

Teressa gulped, she was lost. Teressa threw her eyes out, then scratched her non-itchy head. "Y-yes .. "he said stuttering. "I-it ... That's because back when my mother was alive, she told me the story of my ancestors who fought the demon curse. Whenever there was a magic that gave rise to a black cloud, it might be demonic magic or something."

The old man suddenly smiled faintly. "Such stories are commonly told to young children, naturally," he said.

"Haha ... "

And right after they finished conversing, the black clouds in the sky had completely vanished. The old man carrying a dagger around his waist helped Teressa stand up, he knew that the girl's leg was injured. But Teressa was a little saddened by the help she received, she also felt more eased.

"It looks like the boy has regained consciousness, now it's safe. Looks like you have some business with him, you can see him now."

"But I ... I'm not sure I can, I think he's still going berserk" Teressa grumbled. He was still hesitant to see Rakt, but the old man had a big smile and his narrow eyes gave him confidence. Teressa clasped tightly onto her own palm in front of her chest. Although the gaze of her eyes that continued to stare at the ground as if it could see the entire contents of it still looked doubtful, but in the depths of her heart, Teressa was very confident to be able to bring Rakt back. Her footsteps were indeed full of doubt, and as her eyes looked ahead Teressa was already very confident in her decision. "Well, I'll go" he said.

In the end Teressa stepped forward with complete confidence, beginning to brush aside the thickets that were blocking her path. The old man behind him was delighted and turned around. He had also previously obtained some wild boars he had caught before going hunting deer on the hill.
