Expensive Production Costs

"It all depends on the quality of your runes. If your runes are of good quality, then I will cooperate with you" Adam replied.

From Marco's explanation earlier, Adam knew that Marco's family business had decreased. There was no longer a successor to the blacksmith in his family. This made Adam question the quality of the runes made by Marco.

Indeed, previously Adam had promised to return the favor to Marco. However, the man was unwilling to risk his business just to return the favor. Adam could still give another gift to Marco.

"You take it easy, sir. Although in my family now there are no more blacksmiths, but the quality of our artificial runes is still the best" Marco replied confidently.

The man could already guess that Adam was doubtful of his artificial rune. Quite a lot of people who have the same thoughts as Adam by assuming the quality of runes belonging to the Smith family also decreased.

"I don't need your promise. Better, you show me directly what the quality of your runes is" explains Adam.

"Sure," said Marco who now showed a big smile. The man was quite happy that Adam wanted to give him a chance. Unlike other people who immediately went without seeing the results of Marco's artificial runes.

Marco then took Adam and Jason into his workshop. The first floor of the building serves as a shop. Inside were various weapons on display.

Starting from short swords, long swords, magic wands of various sizes, to armor. It's all on this first floor. Although from the outside of this building looks unkempt, but the inside is very clean and well maintained. No dust or cobwebs are found here.

Adam thought Marco would take him to the second floor. However, the man turned out to take Adam and Jason down into the basement of this building.

In this basement, there were several well-organized tables. Some cupboards that have compartments are seen surrounding the room. There are labels in each compartment. It seemed, the closet was used to store materials to produce runes.

In this basement, there were already five people who were busy with their work. The arrival of Adam and the others did not interfere with their work. Adam nodded slowly, appreciating the focus of these five people.

"This is my family's workshop. They are cousins and some of my friends who work at this workshop" Marco explained.

The man then took Adam and Jason to one of the desks there. There were quite a lot of items scattered on the table, making it look very messy.

"Sorry, I haven't had time to clear my desk yet" Marco said, scratching the back of his head.

"No problem."

"Then, I'll start making runes on your belongings, sir. Can you lend me your things for me to give you runes? Then, allow me to modify the item," Marco said.

"Sure," said Adam who immediately pulled out a watch from his space ring. The man did not say what kind of runes he wanted. Adam gave Marco the freedom to modify him.

This is also a test for Marco. A modification of what the man did to Adam's watch. It will also show how creative Marco is.

Marco then observes the watch in detail. He seemed to think about what kind of modification he would give this watch. After fifteen minutes of observing, Marco is seen starting his work.

The pen looked different from the pen that Adam had known. It looks like an ink pen from medieval times, but looks different. Marco did not need tinda to make his run. Then, from what Adam observed, there was no special place to store ink on the pen.

When the tip of the pen was aligned with the watch, Adam could see golden stripes appearing there. Scratches by scratches Marco made on the watch. Adam himself could not explain in detail the result of the scratch.

Twenty minutes later, Marco finished giving the watch a scratch. Adam thought the rune-giving process was also completed here. However, Marco still carried the watch to a circle in the middle of the table.

Marco placed both his hands on the side of the circle. The man then muttered something. It seemed like a spell to complete this rune-granting procession. A white light that was quite dazzling also emerged from the circle.

"It's over, sir. I've given runes to this stuff of yours. Now, this can be called a magic thing" Marco said.

"So, what kind of runes do you add to this watch?" ask Adam.

"I make watches that are not easily damaged. Despite being hit by a magic attack even once, the watch will remain intact and function properly. Then, I also made it light in the dark of the night. You can clearly see the numbers in the clock clearly" said Marco.

"It doesn't stop there, I also added a heater to the watch. When winter comes, wearers of the watch will feel a sense of warmth in their hands" explained Marco.

Adam's eyes sparkled at Marco's explanation. Although this is not an extraordinary rune, but it is a pretty good modification for a watch. Adam really liked the warm-up feature Marco added.

"So, how much would it cost me to add these three runes?" ask Adam.

"It's three thousand gold Kyra, Mr. Adam," Marco replied.

"Three thousand gold Kyra? That many?"

Adam did not expect the cost incurred to make this rune that expensive. The price of the watch he sold the most expensive was at the price of two hundred Kyra gold. The addition of these runes was fifteen times more expensive than the price of his own watch.

It was only fitting that the nobles in the Guerio Continent were not too concerned about the price that Adam set. They even bought quite a lot of watches without thinking about the price. This is cheap stuff for them.

"Yes, Mr. Adam," Marco replied.

"Then, if you only give one rune on this watch, will the price remain that expensive?"

"The price is not too different. If I put one rune, then the production cost is two thousand Kyra gold. Two thousand five hundred goldKyra for two runes. The difference isn't very big, Mr. Adam," Marco explained.

"This is a reasonable price, Mr. Adam. The cost of making runes, even if they were simple runes, was indeed this expensive. The more complicated the runes installed, the more expensive they will be, too" Jason added.
