The Surprising Attack

"Calm down, Mr. Adam. As long as I'm around, I'll make sure you're okay" Jason said, trying to calm Adam down.

Jason was quite furious at the appearance of these robbers. Although Jason has yet to fully resign from his job and work for Adam, the man feels he has a duty to protect Adam.

"Haha." The man in the middle was heard laughing loudly. His head looked up because he was laughing.

"Protect her? Heh, don't expect you to be able to do it. If you don't give up the money you have, then don't ever expect you to survive from here" the man explained.

"Aren't you guys afraid of getting caught by the city guards?" ask Adam.

"Hahaha, it's so funny that you are, sir. Expecting the city guards to come to the rescue? That's never gonna happen. This street was never crossed by the patrol of the city guards. Then, the homeowner on this street is going to work in the current hour. So, no matter how loud you scream, no one will come to help you" explained the man.

"That's Boss Thomas. Don't talk to these people too much. We'd better finish them off if we don't give up their money immediately" said the man on Thomas' left.

"Yes, you're right Luke. It's time we got into action. So, are you giving up your property or not?" thomas asked in a speech filled with threats.

Now, Thomas began to play around with the fireball in his hand. The man threw it up before catching it again with ease. Thomas wanted to show that he was the one controlling the situation.

Jason didn't wait for Adam's orders. The man felt himself able to overcome these three robbers. Jason pulled out a sword he had just won at auction. This sword consumed all of his savings. So, Jason wanted to see how powerful this sword was.

"Battle mage's? Damn you Petta. You said they were easy enemies. But, what we're dealing with is a battle mage," said Thomas aloud.

Adam slightly breathed a sigh of relief at Thomas's cry. They sounded scared when they saw Jason seriously facing them. This made Adam feel much calmer.

The three robbers intend to escape after learning that they have a small possibility of being able to rob Adam and Jason. Jason would not let that happen. They dare to confront him. So, they need to learn a lesson.

Jason immediately flicked his sword towards the three men. He was late on the road they were going to take to escape. A wall of fire instantly appeared in front of Thomas and the others. Now, inevitably they have to stop and confront Jason.

Thomas immediately threw the fireball in his hand as a form of resistance. They can survive or have no business lately. If they had to die even once, Thomas hoped to make his opponent seriously injured. Or at least one of them died with him.

Jason moved pretty fast. The man swung his sword, slashing the fireball that led to Adam. "Never think I could hurt Mr. Adam while I'm here" Jadon said confidently.

"You're just alone. While the three of us. I can't believe you can face all three of us while protecting your Master" Thomas said.

"All of us, we're dealing with him together" Thomas said.

Both of Thomas's associates immediately began attacking Jason. They begin to use the magic they've mastered to inflict wounds on Jason. Of course the three men were not just focused on attacking Jason. The three robbers are also looking for an opportunity to attack Adam, who is currently only silent on seeing the fight.

Slash after slash Jason did to break the attack of the three women. He also made several attacks to paralyze the three robbers. Jason looked very relaxed when facing the three of them. The man did not appear to have any difficulty in fending off and carrying out the attack.

"Now is the time" cried Thomas suddenly.

Two of Thomas' colleagues immediately ran over to Jason. It made Jason's attack arena narrow quickly. Thomas immediately used this to attack Adam. A ball of fire was thrown at Adam.

"No!" yelled Jason loudly. This sudden attack that was so fast made Jason unable to break Thomas's attack. If he did that, then the two people who were attacking him, could give a very fatal wound. Jason may have lost his life because of this.

Although he sacrificed himself, Jason could not be one hundred percent sure he could save Adam. Now, Jason felt very guilty for underestimating these three robbers. Those who look very easy to beat, make Jason forget that a rabbit if pressed, can turn into a lion.

A wall made of thick iron, instantly appeared in front of Adam. The sudden appearance of thick iron made Thomas very shocked. He didn't think Adam could do anything to protect himself.

Not only was Thomas shocked, Jason and the other two robbers were shocked as well. The fireball that Thomas threw, did not succeed in injuring Adam in the least. The fireball was broken by the barrier wall that Adam made.

"What's? How did this happen? How can you make magic like this?" ask Thomas in wonder.

The man could feel that the mana in Adam's body was not too much. With that amount of mana, it was highly unlikely that Adam could make an iron wall this thick.

If Thomas paid further attention, he could see the iron walls Adam had made were slowly beginning to absorb mana from the surrounding environment. This was something Thomas had never heard of.

Adam looked at his hand in disbelief. Adam himself was surprised to be able to do this. The man just thinks he needs to do something to protect himself. He then thought that if there was a thick iron wall in front of him, he would survive. Therefore, Adam immediately said those words when pressed.

"If I can do magic with a very diverse cast, maybe I can help Jason to quickly subdue these three robbers" Adam murmured inwardly.

"Muddy ground," murmured Adam.

The ground that Thomas and the other two robbers were poking on, instantly turned into muddy ground. Before, the land was very hard. In fact, there are natural rocks that become paving of this road. But all of that turned into mud.

The sudden change of their fists left Thomas and his two comrades in shock. They were trying to get out of the muddy ground Adam had created. However, the more they moved, the three of them seemed to be absorbed in.

They had no other spell that could help them get out of this muddy land. The spells they knew were average were magic spells for assault.

"Hardened," murmured Adam once more.

The ground that was previously muddy, now turned back into hard ground like before. However, when viewed more closely, the ground was even harder than before. That left Thomas and his two comrades, whose hands and feet were locked in the ground, unable to move freely.

"Mr Adam, I, I didn't think you could do this much magic" asked Jason, still unconscious from his shock.

Adam actually gave Jason quite a bit of a surprise. He had hired her, but Adam could also do this kind of magic. Wasn't Adam able to protect himself? Why should I hire him?

"I also didn't know that I could have this ability" Adam said.

"If you could do such a great magic, why would you hire me instead?" ask Jason wonder.

Jason didn't want Adam to hire just out of pity. He does not need Adam's mercy now.

Adam then approached Jason and whispered softly in his ear. "Now this where mine is completely exhausted. I most likely can't protect myself now. So don't let your guard down" explained Adam.

It seemed like Adam was only able to cast three magic with his current mana. All the mana that the man had was completely drained away now. Great enough he could render these three robbers helpless with the combination of spells he had just thought of.

"It's like that."

Jason now slightly accepted the fact that Adam could perform such a powerful magic. There's a price to pay. For Adam, he could only cast some magic before his mana ran out.
