Grandma Dewi escorted her grandson Julian to a boarding school on the outskirts of town. The quiet atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city made Julian amazed, especially when he saw the still beautiful environment as if he was in the surrounding countryside filled with lush green trees.
"Do you like the place?" granny asked the Goddess when she saw the look of admiration emanated from Julian's face.
"Like. Very quiet and comfortable." A smile continued to be painted on the lips of the pira.
"Let's go in." Grandma Dewi invites Julian to continue their steps near the cottage where Kiai Abdullah is located.
Some santri welcomed their arrival, taking the two to the place of Kiai Abdullah the owner of Al-Hikmah boarding school.
Their steps finally arrived at the door of a house that was around the boarding school.
"Assalamualaikum" they said hello.
Before long their greetings were answered, someone opened the door of the house.
"Wa'alaikumsalam." A woman who was thought to be Kiai Abdullah's wife appeared to open the door.
"Umi, this is a guest who wants to meet with Kiai," said the santri.
"Please, let's go in!" The woman dressed in shar'i allowed Grandma Goddess and Julian to enter the house.
Both of them entered and immediately sat down after being sent home.
"I'll call Abi first." The hijab-wearing woman stepped in to call her husband.
Julian, who was sitting on the sofa, looked around the room, where there was a lot of calligraphy adorning the walls of the room.
"Assalamualaik." A long-bearded man wearing a white robe appeared from within. The humble, simple appearance and the stinging facial features made Julian seem hypnotized to look at him.
"Wa'alaikumsalam." Grandma Dewi nudged the arm of her grandson who was now even dumbstruck instead of answering greetings.
"Wa'alaikumsalam" Julian said a little clumsy.
The charismatic man sat across from them. But the hijab woman was not seen anymore, only Kiai Abdullah appeared in the main room while his wife seemed to be preparing food and drinks for their guests.
"During time not to meet, Lady Goddess. How are you doing?" ask Kiai who is in the same age as Grandma Dewi.
"Thank God, is Kiai himself healthy?"
"Thank God be healthy."
Before long appeared Kiai's wife brought a tray of drinks and food and kept all of it on the table.
"Please be on while," said the woman politely.
"Thank you." Grandma Goddess smiled kindly.
"So what can I help you with, Lady Goddess?" ask Kiai Abdullah.
"I intended to come here to ask Kiai for help to guide my grandson to study religion. Hopefully it is not too late for her to deepen religious knowledge at this ripe age," said Grandma Dewi.
"There is no word too late, as long as there is still a desire to learn it can still be done, let alone your grandson is still fairly young. Almighty God has moved your grandson's heart to draw closer to Him. Hopefully Nak... "
"Julian, Kiai."
"Son Julian this could hold Istiqomah, being in the way of Allah until the end of life. I will be very happy to help you" said Kiai with a smile.
They also talked about what Julian wanted to learn in this pesantren. Julian would come once every two or three weeks even more than that if he had free time. Considering Julian is currently taking up duties in his family-owned company so he can not stay in the boarding school and can only go back and forth to study there.
Meanwhile somewhere else. Laila is with Restu, they are currently conducting a survey to the field where their cooperation project will take place.
A land area of hectares owned by the company PT.Nusantara will be managed by Ambar Group company engaged in property.
The weather was quite hot today, the sun perched dashing in the brilliant blue sky. The scorching rays seemed to burn the skin, especially now that Restu and Laila were in a barren wasteland and only grew a few trees.
Umbrellas that are made protective heat of the sun and air temperature seem to have no effect at all.
Laila nodded then followed Restu's steps. Were it not for work, Laila had no intention of meeting Restu again.
"Bang, please buy me a cold drink with the food. If it's not wrong I saw there is a mini market around this road," said Restu to one of the officials who measured the place.
"Good, sir." The male employee immediately received the money given by Restu and passed from there to the mini market.
Laila and Restu sat by the tree that grew there. The hot air is still quite stinging when they are under a shady tree.
Laila fanned the documents she held so hot the air there.
His head was a little dizzy, probably because this morning he had only had a little breakfast, until his stomach was currently empty.
"Laila, how is Qadar?" tanya Restu started the conversation. Laila continued to look in all directions, but not once wanted to look at Restu who was sitting next to her.
"Alhamdulillah, fine." Laila answered briefly still reluctant to turn to the other person.
"Alhamdulillah." Restu was relieved to hear it, he even desperately wanted to meet Qadar.
"Laila, now you're moving house huh? When I just returned from Singapore, I deliberately went around the complex where you used to live. But I didn't see you, Qadar or anything else" Restu said.
Laila just kept quiet, she seemed reluctant to tell if she was no longer living there.
"You don't want to tell me where you live now?" restu continued to see Laila was just silent.
"Sorry we're here at work, so I don't want to discuss personal matters, please respect my privacy, Mr. Restu!" laila.
"Sorry." Restu see Laila slightly changed, is it deliberately Laila avoid and no longer want to be in touch with anyone who concerns her father?
"Laila, I want to see you, with Qadar." Restu seemed to not care about Laila's words earlier, he continued to discuss things outside of their work. In any case Restu wants to bring Laila together with her father. For ten years they had not met.
Laila now turned her head to look at Restu with a sharp look.
"If it's true that he wants to meet, make sure his wife knows that there are no more problems and misunderstandings" Laila said.
Restu fell silent, it felt very unlikely. Ambar could not have allowed Sharif to meet his children.
Laila's phone vibrated and rang. Laila grabbed the flat object and saw who was calling.
"Mr Julian?" laila's murmur could still be heard by Restu, and it certainly made Restu a little uncomfortable. Although maybe Julian will only ask about the job to Laila but somehow Restu seemed jealous to see the two communicate.
"Assalamualaikum, Paul!" julian from across the phone.
"Wa'alaikumsalam."
"Laila, you know now that I started studying at the Al-Hikmah pesantren, I want to be a better man so that I can be a good priest for you" Julian said without further ado.
'Good!' inner Laila.
"Alhamdulillah I am glad to hear it. May the father istiqamah even though we do not know with whom the father will mate, the father must remain a good priest for the future father couple," said Laila Julian consciously subtly.
Hearing Laila's words, Restu knew what they were talking about, of course making his heart hotter. It was hot there plus the talk of Laila and Julian leading to marriage made Restu even hotter on fire.
After Laila talked for a while about work, she hung up.
"You want to marry Julian?" Restu asked Laila.
Laila looked a little surprised.
"Who said?"
"Julian said he wanted to propose to you."
"I don't know, I haven't thought about getting married yet." Laila answered briefly but Laila's answer was a little to make Restu's heart was arid. Restu seemed relieved to hear it.
