Lailatulqadar (Song of Missing For Fathers)

Lailatulqadar (Song of Missing For Fathers)
Chapter 38

Handoko opened the door of the room where Qadar is currently being treated. Laila who was accompanying Qadar at that time immediately turned her head when the door was opened by Handoko.

"Uncle-," Laila stopped her sentence when she saw who had come with her uncle Handoko.

Sharif's father walked behind Handoko. It was as if he could not believe that his father had now come to visit Qadar who was ill.

"Laila, Uncle brought your father here to support Qadar. Hopefully after meeting him, Qadar can quickly awaken," said Handoko.

Laila did not say a word, he immediately came out of the room to make room for Sharif his father both with Qadar inside. Restu followed Laila's steps, they sat in the waiting chair that was lined up in front of the room.

"Be the father of Qadar in an hour or two. Pour out your affection as a father so that Qadar can come to his senses and recover, perhaps that way Qadar can feel what he has never felt in his entire life. Hopefully, our efforts succeed in restoring Qadar consciousness" Handoko said before he left.

Handoko rushed out of the room, tightly shutting the door leaving Sharif alone with Qadar lying on the bed.

Now there is only Sharif and Qadar inside. Sharif stared at that innocent face that looked helplessly weak.

Sharif approached sitting beside Qadar with eyes not separated from the boy's face.

The shadow of Marni instantly slipped between the concerns of Sharif's heart. As if to invite him to remember the past they have passed. Living together lovingly even in simplicity.

Syarif remembered when Marni told her second pregnancy which happened to be in the month of Ramadan. Marni said she wanted to name Qadar if Allah gave her son in the second pregnancy. According to Marni, the name Qadar will match when united with the name of her brother Lailatul. Meaningful name when put together to be Lailatulqadar. Which means a special night where the scriptures were dropped from Lauh Al-Mahfudz to Baittul Izzah.

Apparently Allah granted Marni's wish. A baby boy was born into the world, but at that time Syarif was not beside his wife who was struggling to give birth to Qadar. Now the boy was grown and right in front of him. Unfortunately, the boy is now struggling with the pain of the accident that hit him.

Doubtful Syarif touched Qadar's fingers where medical devices were attached to the boy's hand.

As soon as Syarif felt the flow of blood flowing all over his body, there was something difficult to express by just a word, something felt smothering the man's chest.

He looked at Qadar's face which looked so calm. A child as small as Qadar must feel pain as it is now, making it unbearable for anyone who sees his condition. Various medical aids are installed in some parts of his tiny body. Sharif stared at the miris on Qadar.

"Qadar, son!" a soft voice shook still with doubt enveloping Sharif's heart.

"I'm sorry, son, I've been leaving you, your mother and Laila. Dad had to do everything. Hopefully you can understand my father's position now. Dad's confused, one side dad must maintain the household with Ambar's wife the same father as your mother. On the other hand I have a responsibility to you and Laila. Dad was confused what to do," said Sharif his lips began to tremble while talking.

All he talked to was silence with his eyes closed. But in fact Qadar seemed to be hearing the story and complaints of Sharif, whether as in a dream or the subconscious Qadar can feel the existence of Sharif beside him at this time.

"Dad believes you and Laila are strong children like your mother. I'm sorry if I can't be the person you want me to be. Circumstances keep us apart, I hope you can understand. But I beg you at this time to be healed, back to health as before. Take care of your sister Laila, you're the only one I can count on as a surrogate father in our family. You have to love each other, fight together for your long life, and forget about your very selfish father" Sharif continued.

Instantly the little fingers in Sharif's grasp moved to give a response. Sharif who had shed tears seemed to take turns staring at the face of Qadar and the little fingers of the child.

But suddenly there was a sound from the monitor connected to the hoses attached to the body of Qadar.

The boy moved like he was dying. This made Sharif panic. Soon he came out to tell Handoko and the others.

Handoko who was originally sitting now stood up in surprise when she saw Sharif who suddenly left the room with a tense and panicked expression.

"What's wrong? Did something happen to Qadar?" ask Handoko.

"Qadar up! Her.. " Sharif was nervous he just pointed his index finger inside without being able to continue his sentence again.

Laila and Restu were no less panicked to see Sharif's behavior at this time. They immediately went inside to make sure that Qadar was okay.

But they were wrong, Qadar seemed to move imprudently with his chest raised and breath intermittent. Restu ran away to call the doctor and nurse. He even forgot the button in Qadar's room that was used to call the Doctor and the nurse. So panicked, he forgot about it.

Laila's legs were limp shaking, she almost collapsed unable to support her increasingly limp body. Luckily Syarif immediately caught Laila's body, holding her back from fainting.

Laila's face was wet in a flood of tears, she was afraid of losing Qadar.

The doctor and two nurses entered the room followed by Restu behind them.

"Don't what happened to me?" Handoko immediately asked the doctor a question.

"You better wait outside, so we can check on the patient." The doctor advised them to leave the room.

"But... " Handoko seems heavy leaving Qadar alone in this serious condition.

"Deliver everything to us" said one of the nurses because the doctor immediately gave action to Qadar.

The nurse led Handoko out of the room, and Restu followed hesitantly and restlessly.

"Laila wants to be here! " The girl squealed as Sharif took her out.

"Laila we're your sister's gonna have to get checked out, let the doctors and nurses do their job well without any interference from us." Sharif tried to explain.

Laila revolted not to hear Sharif speak, the state of a weak body makes Laila can not do much which he finally brought out by his father.

"Qadar up! Qadar don't leave brother. You must be strong!" laila's stifled scream was accompanied by heart-wrenching cries. Even Lila tried to bang on the door of the room.

"Laila calm down, boy! We pray, Qadar will be fine. " Handoko immediately carried Laila in her arms.

Now Laila stopped struggling and shed tears on her Uncle's chest. Syarif can only be silent watching Handoko who can calm Laila while her father in fact Laila can not make the girl calm.
