Lailatulqadar (Song of Missing For Fathers)

Lailatulqadar (Song of Missing For Fathers)
Chapter 22

The old woman who had originally brought the basket to the kitchen had now returned.

Ambar gave Dita some money, paid for the takjil he ordered.

Dita also grabbed the money put it in her pants pocket. While Laila took the basket from Mbok's hand.

"We're saying Auntie, Om, Restu!" tell Dita to them.

Shortly before Laila came out of the house, he and Syarif had met for a moment and then threw their faces away.

Syarif was relieved when Laila left his residence and did not tell Ambar if in fact he was the biological child from Sharif's marriage with Marni.

Laila and Dita leave the mansion. They have to deliver some orders to other customers. While the order from Handoko's office has been brought by Handoko's coworkers to the house.

All the way home Laila just silent, arranging his heart to arrive home later he no longer grieved because of his father's attitude earlier.

Instantly Laila remembered her late mother. Do you know all this? If indeed he knows, it means that his mother Marni has been covering up the evil of Sharif in front of Laila and Qadar. Can Laila imagine her mother's heartache, maybe more pain than what Laila is feeling right now.

Laila simply handed everything over to God, whatever happened to her family all at her will. Laila was sure that someday God would move the heart of her father's Sharif until Sharif was aware and willing to admit his children. Although I don't know when it happened but Laila is convinced and believes God is able to turn the heart of man.

Arriving at the house Laila rushed into the kitchen storing the basket after which it entered her room.

"Sister Laila's home yet?" Qadar has just finished the ashar prayer. He folded the sarong and kept it on the table.

Laila nodded then sat down on the edge of the bed, still calming her overcrowded heart.

Qadar sat next to Laila staring at Laila's tired-looking face.

"So I'm tired, let me have a massage." Qadar shifted her seat and massaged her brother's shoulder.

Her tiny hands were massaging Laila's shoulders.

"You're smart as well" Laila praised.

"Yes dong, Qadar likes to see his mother's sister. Qadar also likes to help you!" he spoke without knowing what Laila was currently feeling.

Laila couldn't imagine that one day Qadar knew the truth about their father.

"Sister Laila is sick?" tanya Qadar broke Laila's daydream.

"It doesn't hurt. Brother take ablution first, it's too late for prayer." Laila got up from her seat walking out towards the bathroom to take ablution.

Qadar only looked at her until Laila disappeared from behind the door.

Many questions filled Qadar's mind as to what his older sister Laila was thinking.

Qadar waited for Laila who was taking ablution. Showing the view to every corner of the room. Until his gaze stopped at one point, a paper leaflet containing a picture of his father was tucked in one of the drawers.

Slowly Qadar walked closer to open the drawer and took the pile of sheets of paper. Just a few that he took. Then Qadar walked out into the television room without waiting for Laila to return to the room.

Qadar dyed, there was no one in the room. Looks like Dita and Mira are in their respective rooms. Qadar also walked out of the house to attach the leaflet around the complex. Waiting for magrib to arrive.

It just so happened that the same time Handoko appeared. Qadar's eyes immediately sparkled, he approached his uncle.

"What do you hold Qadar?" handoko asked while opening her shoes.

Qadar showed the sheet to Handoko.

"This is a flyer, right? Why are they still at home? Haven't you guys put it in a public place yet?" handoko asked astonished as she grabbed the paper from Qadar's hand.

"It looks like Laila's sister is too busy so she hasn't had time to put up this leaflet yet" Qadar replied.

"Uncle can help us spread this leaflet?" ask Qadar to Handoko.

"Alright, Uncle will stick it in public places when Uncle leaves for work tomorrow." Handoko put the paper in her briefcase.

While inside Laila who just entered the room dyed when not found Qadar there.

"Where is he?" laila said as she reached for the prayer mat and mukena on the table near the sarong Qadar.

"Maybe he's watching TV or ngabuburit with Aldo" he murmured and then began wearing a mukena after previously holding a prayer mat.
