Lailatulqadar (Song of Missing For Fathers)
Chapter 1

An atmosphere of grief enveloped Lailatul's house which is commonly called Laila, and also his sister named Qadar.

The sister is now in the midst of suffering, losing the figure of a beloved mother who has been struggling to raise and take care of them without a husband figure beside her.

Marni, a woman in her 40s who is over, has passed away because of her illness. Left her two children Laila (15th) and Qadar (8th).

Since the departure of her husband, Marni plays a double role, she became a father figure and mother for both children.

All the ways Marni did in order to survive and support her child properly. Because the husband did not come home since the time Qadar was in the womb of 7 months.

Only Marni knows why Sharif left her and her family. While Laila and Qadar did not know at all the obvious reason for their father's departure.

All they know is that their father is working out of town. That's what Marnie told her kids. Sometimes Laila and Qadar often ask why their father never came home, even until Qadar was 8 years old, Qadar never knew the real face of his father.

Just an old photo that became a remedy for their longing for the father. And now their suffering is increasing.

Laila and Qadar must lose their beloved mother. The only person they had, the angel-hearted heroine, always made them happy.

But at this time, their hero is lying stiff on the floor of a narrow house. The voices of people recited surah yasin and prayers filled the room.

So did their cries that seemed to never recede until the body of the mother was buried. Rintik drizzle escorted Marni to her final resting place.

" Mommy! " the shrieks of Qadar sprinkled onto a wet mound of earth studded with colorful flowers on it.

" It's Qadar, don't cry anymore. Pity your mother, let her go in peace. There's Uncle and Aunt here as your parents' replacement now, you'll take us to the city. " Handoko embraces Qadar who still seems to be hit with the departure of her mother.

Handoko is the younger sister of Marni's late mother Laila and Qadar. Handoko's wife, Mira, has two children named Dita and Aldo. They live in another town with Marni still living in the village with her children.

" Qadar wants mom, Qadar doesn't want to go with Uncle. Qadar just wants to be here with mom, pity mom alone, "said the eight-year-old boy was reluctant to move from his mother's grave.

The rain was getting louder, the sound of lightning sounded earthy as if the sky was crying and feeling the sadness of Qadar.

" Well, if he doesn't want to go home! The rain is getting worse we have to go home. This child is not obedient, certainly never taught to his parents! " sneaky Mira Handoko's.

Laila who heard that immediately persuaded her sister to stop lamenting their fate. I'm gone and can't be back. As an older sister, Laila had to be stronger and be able to strengthen her younger sister, Qadar.

" We're going home deck! Mother was calm with God. Do you remember the word Mr Ustad? We can't cry over bodies, our cries can make it hard for mothers to get out of this world" Laila said.

Laila gently rubbed Qadar's wet face as tears mixed with rain. Then he invited his sister to wake up and immediately leave his mother's grave.

' Goodbye Mom, may you be calm in nature. And may Laila be able to keep the trust of the mother, to keep Qadar, ' the inner Laila as her steps further away from the resting place of the mother.

That day Handoko immediately brought Laila and Qadar to the city. Considering they no longer have relatives or relatives in the village. The house Marni lives in with her two children is a house left by Handoko and Marni's parents.

Handoko moved to the city since she worked and married, while Marni stayed in the village to take care of their parents' house. Handoko was married to Marni.

Marni was married to Sharif when she was thirty years old, and even then Marni did not know exactly the origin of her husband. When Sharif left on the pretext of going to work in the city, Marni just believed in her husband that Sharif never came back.

Syarif left his wife and child Laila when Laila was seven years old while Qadar was still in Marni's womb, which was only six months old at the time.

Perih, hard and difficult life Marni at that time fight for their lives in order to survive.

Laila and Qadar were only carrying their butut clothes, as there were no valuables they could carry from home. Aside from the clothes and a photo of their mother and father. The photo is obsolete as the only memento they have if they are missing their parents. Marni their mother is now in heaven, while Sharif their father is out of nowhere. Either still alive or the same fate as Marni who is now dead.

Laila doesn't know the truth about her father. For sure Laila always prayed that his father was still alive, so that he and his sister still had a chance to have parents. Especially Qadar, he had never known the real face of his father. Miris.

" What a smell do you guys, never take a shower? " tap Dita by covering her nose when Laila and Qadar get into the car with two ties of cloth containing their clothes.

" We can't do that. They are your cousins, " said Handoko advising her seventeen-year-old eldest son.

Dita snorted in annoyance, while Mira glanced cynically at the sight of her two nephews who did stink. It's true what Dita said.

" His name is also a village boy, yes it stinks! The smell of the poor ! " mira whispered to Dita who was sitting next to her.

Dita chuckles at her mother's words. Laila and Qadar heard the insults of their aunt Mira, but they were silent and did not dare to resist. Laila realizes she will be hitchhiking at Aunt Mira's and Uncle Handoko's house. Although it seems that Aunt Mira and her eldest son named Dita do not like him and Qadar. There is no other choice but to join them in order to survive to connect the stomach so as not to starve.

" Tell Dad said. Brother Dita can't say that like Kak Laila and Bang Qadar, they're our brothers. " Five-year-old Aldo chatted funnyly.

" Smart son of a father! " Handoko ruffled her youngest son's hair. He started driving to the city where they lived.
