Chapter 72: Fair Exchange

Jesslyn and William were standing in a back garden. A place where his beloved cats play and are free to roam. Both of them remained silent for a long time. Of course it adds to the nervousness in the young man beside Jessi.

Jesslyn was leisurely sitting on the stairs, staring at the cats who were now growing up, while the mother began to weaken with age. There were even those who died after being part of the Light family long enough. "Sit down!" jessi's orders to Liam.

The man sat right next to his future mother-in-law. However, Jesslyn's whistle suddenly made several tigers run towards them and directly approached Liam without asking.

The surprised Liam immediately licked back, but the animals licked his cheeks like a tame cat. Don't ask her how she feels right now, if in the wild Liam would've pulled the trigger when they approached. However, the animals live in this residence. Where it means the mother of the idol can test it at any time.

"Enough, Light! Go play!" Just a sentence from Jesslyn's mouth. The animals returned to the large park. Jessi held out a handkerchief to remove the stains on her daughter-in-law's body without saying anything.

Shortly after Liam was ready and sitting quietly, Jesslyn gave the data she had obtained to the young man beside her. "We're getting information that even others might not know. Of course it's just data, while your feelings better understand that."

Liam just nodded, in fact his royal family did have abilities that could not be underestimated if his intentions were evil from the beginning.

"Say your purpose in asking my daughter to be your life partner?" jesslyn asked in a low tone after being quite satisfied with Liam's attitude.

Being asked such a question for the first time was something new to Liam. Previously he had practiced the possibilities that the parents would talk to him about. However, when faced directly it turns out his lips are mute, as if closed tightly at the wrong time.

He looked straight ahead, a curling smile on his face as he recalled how Liam fell in love for the first time with Je. Silly indeed. "Auntie, if I told you I'd fallen for Jessica since I first saw her, would you believe me?"

"Sweet, again you kind of remind me of youth. It is not impossible to love someone anytime soon. But, do you think it's just a joke? What if it turns out that your love is just a curiosity and ends in divorce after you get a new love?" The past of course taught Jesslyn to be more careful. She did not want her daughter to have to suffer the same fate as her first. It was enough for him to stop by the wrong person. Don't let Jessica feel it, either.

Liam smiled slightly while looking down. "I once thought, is love just a curiosity." He shook his little. "Auntie, maybe what I'm telling you is beyond reason. But, I hope you believe it."

The best thing that Liam could do right now was tell her honestly about her all along to Jesslyn. The woman heard the story carefully while occasionally asking. Many things can indeed happen outside of human common sense, but Liam is sure that Jesslyn will understand his honesty at this time.

Liam nodded again.

"Alright, your story is probably beyond common sense and I am a reasonable person. What can you prove if you're serious about my daughter?"

"What do you want as proof, Auntie? I can't promise happiness for the rest of my life because life is going to be a lot of testing. But, I promise to do my best for her and be loyal only to her for the rest of my life."

Jesslyn called one of the servants. A file was handed back to him and he gave it to Liam. "Son, you know I'm a realistic woman? A promise? You can deny it anytime. But, you're a good businessman. Must know what the guarantee is for all that."

Liam was silent for a long time, so he took out a pen and scratched the ink on each sheet by sheet of paper in front of him. Without a doubt, the man gave all his property as a guarantee of sincerity. Where after before the wedding all that would turn out to be on behalf of Jessica Light.

A big smile on Jesslyn's face. The sinister expression changed in the blink of an eye, becoming a female figure who even had the same disposition as Jessica used to be. "Well, I'm happy to let you marry my daughter. Oi! If you're gonna be this loyal. You should have come since he was a baby. It was very difficult living it from a long time ago. Always draining my patience and my pockets."

The expression Jesslyn gave of course made Liam dumbfounded. However, suddenly the voice of a girl behind them with a sulking face stopped the chatter of the two. "Mommy, did you sell me?"

"Mommy!" Jessica was sulking. However, it was not touched by the mother and ended by shaking her legs because of annoyance. He immediately held the hand of the father with his spoiled attitude. "Daddy, look at your wife! He sold his own daughter and traded me for money."

"Already, Son. Let's go in!" Take Nicholas to the princess and her future son-in-law.
