Chapter 71: The Situation is Tight

The atmosphere turned silent after Jessica's departure. The three people who were still sitting comfortably on the living room sofa were no one to open their mouths anymore. Until a waiter arrived to put a drink cup in front of each person.

"Drink," said Nich kindly.

William's heart was pounding indeterminate. Inwardly, he was compiling the right words to convey the intent to the two elders before him. He just nodded then took the cup to wet his throat first.

"What's your name? I haven't seen you in all this time. Are you one of Jessica's friends?" jesslyn asked without further ado while taking her cup as well.

As a parent who always observes the development of his daughter's son, of course Nicholas and Jesslyn know anyone who is friends with them. Even the ex-girlfriend. However, not with the young man before the two at the moment.

Jesslyn's tough nature looks so obvious and scary enough for some first-time friends to meet her like Liam is today. However, it was not William Scorpion his name if he gave up just like that. Nicholas nodded. "Sit down! No need to be that formal."

William was relieved by Nicholas' response, but had not had his butt stuck to the chair, again Jesslyn's question made him surprised.

"So, what's your purpose in coming here?" jesslyn asked as she sipped tea in her hand.

For a moment Liam cleared his throat, his heart as if it was preparing to jump from its current place as well. In his heart he tried to string the right words together to be stated, but his tongue seemed to faintly make a sound. It turned out that facing two parents for the sake of asking his daughter was more frightening than dealing with a hundred enemies even once.

How lightning strikes in the morning, Jesslyn to spit out her drink was so surprised, while Nicholas immediately changed his expression and looked at each other at the wife beside him.

"You know who we are?" ask Jesslyn coldly.

Liam simply nodded, although he had yet to definitively identify the real family of a Jessica Light, but he could not retreat this easily.

Jesslyn called one of the servants and it didn't take long for a file to be given to the woman. He read data after data on the screen, then glanced at Liam who was still unmoved. Now the nervousness can no longer cover Liam.

The serene and gripping atmosphere made the man even more afraid that his request would be rejected. However, Jessica's voice down the stairs broke the silence.

"What's this about? Why does everything look tense?" jessica immediately grabbed a snack at the table and ate it while sitting next to Liam.

"You! Follow me!" jesslyn's strict orders to Liam, while Jessica's new arrival is of course confused by what happened.

Jessica was about to follow Liam who stood up leaving the living room with her mother, but the baritone voice of Nicholas stopped her intentions. "Je, stay here. Something Daddy wants to ask."
