A Changing Life

Amidst the frenetic sound of music jerking, a man sat with an empty look while holding a glass of whiskey. The man is Bryan, a wealthy young man who is currently gathering with his friends at a famous nightclub in Barcelona. Bryan thought meeting up with his friends and gathering at a nightclub would be able to get his mind a little sidetracked from Laura. But in fact, he was even more unable to remove Laura from his mind.

Looking at the dreamy looking Bryan, Bryan's friends elbow each other to tell each other to look towards Bryan.

“Bryan, what's wrong with you? Don't you usually look tangled like this?” ask one of Bryan's friends named Ander. 

“Let me guess. How long has your bed not been warmed?” chris said, inviting the laughter of his friends.

“Ck, not that,” grumbled Bryan while rolling his eyeballs. 

“You're stupid or what, Chris? There's no way a woman's bed like Bryan hasn't been warmed up in a long time. Do you not see if every week there must be a woman who is rumored to be her lover?” ander said while chuckling.

Chris grabbed Bryan's shoulder. “So, what are you thinking, Bryan?” tanyakanya.

Instead of answering Chris' question, Bryan seemed to be back daydreaming. A second later he smiled to himself and then daydreamed again.

“It looks like our friend is positively crazy,” slurried Ander while shuddering in horror.

No wonder Bryan was acting like that right now because he was imagining Laura. She recalled Laura's nervous face whenever the girl found Bryan staring at her intensely. This is one of the main attractions for Bryan.

“Bryan, what's wrong with you?” ander asked while patting Bryan on the shoulder. “Come, tell a story with us.”

Bryan who nodded. “Nothing. Why me?” Bryan asked back.

“You were busy daydreaming and smiling to yourself. You don't usually stay at night clubs. Usually, once you come you have directly got a prey for you to sleep on,” said Chris.

“I'm not in the mood for that,” Bryan replied.

“You must have gotten a new woman,” Ander quipped. “Tell us, does she not want to date you so you look weird like this?”

Bryan remained silent, choosing not to respond to the words of his friends. For Laura's matter, Bryan wouldn't tell people about it for a while. Especially his friends because they could be more curious and will find out who is the woman who is teasing Bryan's mind.

Meanwhile, elsewhere Laura had just closed the door to her apartment. Today, Laura lives in a modest apartment. In the apartment there is only a bed, bathroom, simple kitchen and also a small dining table. A very simple apartment but more than enough to live in Laura alone.

The girl placed her bag on the bed and sat on the edge of the bed, breathing deeply. Again he remembered the incident some time ago, the incident that made him finally choose to move to Barcelona.

The flashback

The two ex-husbands seem to be having a big fight. All their family assets are confiscated by the bank due to Martin's recklessness, which is nothing but drug addicts and Lucia who likes to spend time getting drunk after their company goes bankrupt.

“Who will take care of Laura? The court said because he was an adult, he would decide who to stay with. I mind if I have to stay with him,” Lucia said as she folded her hands in front of her chest.

Yeah, that's right. Laura's parents are not currently arguing over Laura's custody. Instead, they argue because they both do not want to get custody of Laura.

“My life has been difficult, I do not want my life to be more difficult if I have to support Laura too,” Martin replied.

“You think your life is hard right now? Me too!” lucia shouted as she stared intently at Martin.

Laura, who is currently hearing her parents debate from behind the door of her room, can only cry, realizing that no one wants to live with her. In fact, both of his parents considered that he was just a burden on the family.

As a child, Laura did not expect that her parents would end up throwing her away like this. More precisely, no one wanted to live with her anymore because they felt that living with Laura would only trouble them. In fact, all this time Laura thought that her parents were the greatest parents who always loved her.

“This is all your fault too! If only you had persuaded Laura to marry Felix, then none of this would have happened,” Martin said.

Felix is a man from a wealthy family. The man happens to be very interested in Laura and intends to marry Laura. Felix even asks Martin and Lucia to persuade Laura to marry him. However, of course, Laura who did not feel in love with Felix refused this.

Because he idolizes Mario Casas, Laura does not want to be in a relationship until she can find a man who has good looks and traits that are equivalent to her idol. Something that makes no sense can be said. However, that was what Laura had in mind at the moment.

“Why do you just blame me? You don't want to persuade Laura to marry Felix. If Laura is married to Felix, we can't possibly fall poor!” exclamation Lucia with a voice an octave higher.

Laura who was fed up with hearing the debate her parents came out of the room and shouted, “You don't have to worry, I will support myself! I even got a good job offer in Madrid!”

The day after, Laura actually left her parents. Unwilling to be considered a burden, he chose to find a way to support himself.

Laura, who initially said she had a job offer in Madrid, did not buy a train ticket to Madrid that day. He went to Barcelona and started everything from scratch again in Barcelona.

Flashback off

Laura was awakened from her daydream. The girl cried because she remembered what happened two months ago in her family. She also wept over the fact that now her life had changed all at once; from the daughter of a conglomerate to a waitress in a flower shop.

“Yes, Lord, give me strength so that I can endure all this,” murmured Laura while wiping her tears.
