Still Need Time

Laura nudges Bryan's back, asking the man to help her turn down Bryan's parents' offer. How could Laura accept Bryan's parents' offer if she and Bryan just don't have a clear relationship. More precisely, Laura has not decided where to take their relationship. He couldn't trust Bryan completely at the moment.

“Ma, Pa, I'm not sleepy yet. After all, it looks like Laura will not feel comfortable if she has to stay at someone else's house,” Bryan said while embracing Laura's shoulder.

Getting such treatment from Bryan made Laura surprised. However, the girl chose to be quiet and resigned. He will continue to follow Bryan's play while they are at Bryan's parents' house.

Bryan poked his shoulder. “If I, anyway, it's up to Laura's decision. I won't force Laura if she wants to go home,” Bryan replied with a faint smile.

Bryan's answer didn't help at all. Because the answer was like a boomerang for Laura. Bryan gave the impression as if Bryan's parents had to persuade Laura that they really wanted Laura to stay at her parents' residence.

“How, Laura? You want to stay here, ‘kan?” deborah asked, urging Laura.

Laura bit her lower lip, then nodded resignedly. Seeing Deborah's face that looked like she wanted her to stay, Laura felt bad about having to reject her.

Deborah's smile expands. “Thank you, Laura. I'm glad you came here and got acquainted with us,” she said, patting the back of Laura's hand that had been on the table for several times.

“Why should you thank me?” reply Laura while frowning, confused.

“Bryan is not the type of man who can be loyal to women, we know about it. We even ran out of sense to persuade Bryan and make him repent. However, after your presence in Bryan's life, things seemed to change.” Deborah looked at her husband. “True, ‘kan, Pa?”

“True, Ma,” replied Fabio, agreeing with the wife's remark. “We're really grateful that you showed up in Bryan's life and made this kid change.”

Bryan's parents' words made Laura blush in shame. The girl did not expect that her presence could be very accepted by Bryan's parents. What's more, they even praised Laura and said that they were grateful for Laura's presence in Bryan's life.

“I didn't do anything,” Laura said as she lowered her head. The girl refused to show her face red due to embarrassment.

“Ah, don't be. You managed to make us feel calm and do not have to fear just in case Bryan will get sexually transmitted diseases because of his stupid habits,” said Deborah blatantly.

Having a son who changes partners often makes Fabio and Deborah worried about Bryan's health condition.

“I hope you didn't cheat on Laura and make this girl sorry for accepting you, Bryan.” Now it was Fabio's turn to speak up.

Bryan scratched his non-itchy nape. “Iya, yes. I know.” The man turned towards Laura, then clasped the girl's hand. “Which is it possible that I betrayed Laura after I took pains to get Laura's love?”

Hearing Bryan's words, Laura yawned as a satire that she did not fully believe the man's words.

“Bryan, quickly take Laura to your room. Poor him already sleepy,” orders Fabio.

“Is it really okay if I stay here?” ask Laura, shy.

Fabio and Deborah looked at each other. After getting a nod of the head from her husband, Deborah then told about the day they caught Bryan and Laura.

“No need to hesitate, Laura. After all, we've seen you sleep together,” Deborah said, making Laura and Bryan look up at the middle-aged woman with a confused look.

“About a month and a half ago your father and I went to your house to look for you because your secretary said you didn't go to work. We're afraid that you're doing something. But, when we came, we saw that you were sleeping soundly while hugging Laura in your room,” Deborah explained.

“I didn't know you guys were coming that time,” Bryan muttered.

“Of course you don't know. We immediately left because we did not want to disturb you,” Fabio said.

Fabio and Deborah's words made Laura even more embarrassed. He had no idea that he and Bryan would be spotted by Bryan's parents while they were sleeping together.

“There take Laura to the room! Poor him already sleepy,” orders Fabio.

Bryan nodded his head and took Laura to the second floor, heading to his room.

The man was so happy that he thought that Laura would finally be able to take him back after he introduced her to his parents and relatives. She thought, she had managed to convince Laura that she was really serious with the girl.

At least that belief had been firmly entrenched in Bryan's heart until they had already entered Bryan's room and Laura's nature again turned cold and kept her distance.

“You slept on that side. I will sleep on this side,” Laura said while building a wall in the middle of the bed using several pillows.

“What do you mean?” bryan asked confusedly. Didn't Laura take it back? So why would Laura want them both to sleep while keeping their distance?

Laura took a deep breath, then slowly exhaled. “Bryan, sorry, I haven't been able to fully accept you. I still need time to see my seriousness,” Laura explained.

Bryan decided to sit on the edge of the bed, next to Laura. “But, why did you seem to be able to accept me in front of everyone?” her question was puzzled, astonished by Laura's change in attitude.

“I don't feel good if I show my cold attitude in front of your parents. They seem to really hope that his son is not a playboy who likes to change partners and only make women his bedmate,” Laura sneer, insinuated Bryan's annoying behavior.

Bryan was silent, still confused by Laura's attitude.

“I don't want to make your parents feel disappointed or sad, Bryan,”.

“Laura, why are you still unable to accept me? Didn't I prove I was serious with you tonight?” ask Bryan.

“Because you introduced me to your parents?” reply Laura. “I understand that this might be a big step for you. But, I still can't be sure if you're really serious with me.”

Bryan rubbed his face in frustration. “Tell me what I have to do so that you can trust my seriousness in you, Laura.”

Laura smiled thinly. “Leave time that answers everything Bryan. I still need time to see my seriousness,” explained Laura.

Bryan nodded his head, understanding what Laura meant.
