20. Energy Awakening

Moon Gi Tae POVs.

Arriving in the front yard of the cottage along with Ji-hyeon, I saw Jeong Ra and Chu Yi standing opposite not far from a medium-sized stone beside them, like they were talking about something.

My arrival with Ji-hyeon distracts them, and I bow a little to pay my respects because they are still princesses, after all.

"Gi Tae seems to have improved and is ready to train." Ji-hyeon informs me of my situation but I just don't understand her point.

"b-train?" I asked in astonishment while frowning my forehead at him.

"Yes, practice. Since we realized that you need her, whereas we princesses will be your teachers in the training process" Ji-hyeon ended her sentence with a big smile.

Jeong Ra and Chu Yi nodded in agreement to Ji-hyeon's words.

Training with them? what good have I done until I have received such a great gift? as far as I'm concerned, all I do is cheat and make trouble.

Is this a benefit to me or do they have a hidden purpose?

"All right.. I'll practice with you guys" wait! I didn't mean to say that.

Uh! it must have been Jeong Ra who made me agree with Ji-hyeon.

"It's good to hear!" ji-hyeon's eyes narrowed because of her smile "if you need anything, don't hesitate to tell me or anything else. I made sure we would continue together." His gaze was so sincere that without me knowing my heart was shaking, seeing the sincerity in his eyes.

I nodded slowly with a flabbergasted mouth and eyes that I could not blink.

"Klings...! kling!!"

Surrounded by tall trees looming in the courtyard of the log cabin, Jeong Ra continued to attack me mercilessly. With his clothes fluttering in the wind, he swung his sword at me making our swords clash and let out a loud sound.

Of course I can fend off and dodge all of his attacks. I mean if for defense martial skills, I can certainly do it, I even often have sparring with my father first.

But the longer we train, the more my energy gets drained.

"Don't let your guard down!" he swung his sword to the right of my body.

I swiftly dodged his attack by bending and twisting my body in the opposite direction.

If he keeps this up, then I could get hurt.

"Enough! huhh..!" I stopped Jeong Ra's attack and raised my hand towards him with a dull breath.

My body bent down by placing both hands on my knees to rest for a moment. If it continues for longer, I'll make sure I pass out in front of him.

"Come on. This is just the beginning!" muttered Jeong Ra who instantly made my eyes wide.

"Beginning!?" I asked in shock "you attacked me for more than four hours and you said this is the beginning?" an annoyed expression clearly appeared on my face at this moment. How could he say that? "i don't believe this. I'm leaving! I'm gonna go find Ji-hyeon and talk to her!" am I angry? yep! sure is. He didn't even give any direction about what we were learning and instead attacked me mercilessly.

"Just this far? hahaha...!" I heard him chuckle as I was about to leave our training ground, and that of course made me stop and look at him in wonder.

What's wrong with this girl? is he not aware of what he has done so far?

"Huhaha...! Gi Tae's... Gi Tae.. You are the only fussy young man I have ever met" back, shaking his head, Jeong Ra laughed at my frustration at him "alright... if you want to complain to your mother Ji-hyeon, go ahead. I'm pretty sure that he'll do something worse than what I taught you...! hehe...!" he added with a grin and bragging.

"What have you taught me?" ask me by approaching it while challenging.

One of Jeong Ra's eyebrows was raised, he was eaten up by my challenge.

I don't know what he's planning at the moment, but from the look in his eyes, I'm sure it's something I can regret.

"Kneel to me and apologize!" his orders by crossing both his arms across his chest.

But my brain was following his words. Oh I forgot one thing, he can manipulate someone's mind. He must be using that magic on me right now.

I tried to reject his words in my head, but the magic was too strong that something felt as if it was pulling my knees to kneel before him.

"Akk-me-ahh!" my mouth was about to say what Jeong Ra ordered, but I tried to resist it with all my might.

Jeong Ra's grin became increasingly. He seemed to be enjoying the view in front of him.

With my position on my knees and having difficulty in resisting Jeong Ra's magic, something like an energy flowed through my body.

From the bottom of my chest, I felt the energy radiate towards both arms and spread towards both of my legs.

The energy was getting stronger I felt so hot all over my body. My head looked up with my eyes closed because my body was unable to withstand this intense heat.

"Focus your power! don't let the energy in your body control you!" I heard Jeong Ra's voice from the middle of the difficulty I was feeling.

I try to understand the words. Aye! I need to be able to focus myself!

After a while, I was finally able to feel the energy spreading throughout my body slowly fuse with the pulse of my blood stream. Although I have not been fully able to control it yet, I can at least overcome this energy for now.

I felt lighter and was able to stand up with the help of the foreign energy flowing through my body. It was as if I could overcome the effects of the magic given by Jeong Ra earlier.

I looked at both of my arms. They were covered in light blue smoke that amazed me.

"Congratulations Gi Tae, you can finally bring up the hidden energy from your body" I heard Jeong Ra clapping and praising me "but it seems like it's still a small part of it, and you still need more effort to control it." he added, looking like he was thinking deeply.

"Does this mean I have magic?" I asked him like a student who was curious about the teacher's next move.

"Hmmm, we will see that, if you can control this power, it could be that you will have a rare magic that has been lost thousands of years ago. But if this energy is controlling you, then you will disappear by it" he replied so calmly.

Magic that has been lost? how can I have it? is this the effect of the curse or do I actually have this from my ancestors?

"Alright, it looks like our training got here first. Tomorrow we'll continue"

As I was interested in the topic he started and was about to ask this further, Jeong Ra asked for our training today to be sufficient. I'm a little disappointed, but there's no tomorrow.
