26 - The Twins Meng

Nalan Shu spontaneously dodged when some of the townspeople attacked him. The surprised expression was still clearly visible, he was completely shocked considering that his sword could be broken.

"This sword is not an heirloom weapon, but it is forged with fighting spirit, patience and perseverance. No opponent has ever broken my sword. So this clearly proves that.... The opponent I faced was much stronger."

Nalan Shu understood him and tried to be careful. Right now, he was using a broken sword to deal with the citizens of Lianyi City. Of course despite the difficulties, but his speed in moving and acting never decreases.

On the other hand, the silvery thread that binds the wrists and controls the bodies of the townspeople appears to stretch. The other end of the thread was moving lightly in the air, not overly strained and more like the thin fibers of a fragile spider.

Chu Kai's breathing was irregular, his worry and fear clearly visible on his face. He continued running and was suddenly startled, even spontaneously jumping back and hiding behind one of the trees.

Chu Kai's chest went down, he gulped and his face showed a pale feeling with wide-open eyes. The tension was clearly visible next to the sound of his heart beating so fast.

The reason why Chu Kai could hide like that was because he felt danger. The naturally green-eyed youth was even slightly peeking and sure enough - at the top of one of the trees was seen two people dressed in red. The moon orchid pattern on the clothes of the two figures reminded him of the woman who wanted to kill him in the forest at that time.

"They.." Chu Kai's eyes narrowed. He did not know for sure what the two figures on the tree were doing, but the feeling of anxiety was still clearly visible on his face.

The conditions around Chu Kai were indeed dark, but that did not mean that he could not see at all. There was still moonlight up there and with the light coming down through the gaps of the leaves. The clothes of the two figures were illuminated by that light and this was what made Chu Kai recognize the pattern of their clothes.

"................." Chu Kai leaned back against the tree with his heart still racing. Sweat poured down his forehead as he gulped.

He still clearly remembered, as if it had just happened yesterday. Chu Kai was near the river that time and a woman came with the intention of wanting to take his life.

The woman knew about her being chosen as the Dragon Swordsman and while fighting with him - those women had mentioned about 'Dark Cultivation' and 'Black Flow'. Moreover, this was all aimed at him and probably because he accidentally killed the woman... Now the woman came looking for him.

"How is this..." Chu Kai tried to find a way out. The problem is, if he is the one being targeted - why is it that the citizens of Lianyi City were attacked?!

"What I think." Chu Kai shook his head, "They are evil people. No matter what method is used, they will definitely do it. These guys... Just like those spider demons back then, they attacked innocent ordinary citizens."

On the other hand, the two figures that were on top of the tree were the twin women named Meng Yu Ning and Meng Yu Xia. They are brothers with different abilities. Meng Yu Ning was someone who was an expert in Yarn Binding techniques, while Meng Yu Xia had expertise in curse techniques.

"I thought something was moving," Meng Yu Xia stared nonchalantly saying, "It seems like just my feeling."

"I guess it's just a wild animal. Just focus," Meng Yu Ning played her ten fingers. There was a silvery thread that seemed to come out from his fingertips and this was what controlled the movements of the citizens of Lianyi City.

Meng Yu Xia helped his brother by sending out curse techniques through the silvery thread. His actions that make the residents groan in pain and even use various ways to hurt themselves.

On the other hand, Chu Kai who was hiding behind a tree was seen holding onto his chest. He almost died in that shocking attack. His body even involuntarily trembled and he tried his best to catch his breath.

"I have to get out of here. They are definitely not just anyone. I will die if I get caught," Chu Kai carefully moved, tension appearing on his face.

The young man moved outside the territory where the two twin women could be aware of his existence. Chu Kai was almost far away when he suddenly felt his heart almost jump out of his ear.

Chu Kai thought he had already escaped, yet not far in front of him was a female figure standing. The figure's clothes were red with the moon orchid pattern, just like the woman he had once wiped out. Chu Kai did not even know since when he held his breath.

"It turns out I wasn't wrong. There was someone peeking earlier,"

The figure that was before Chu Kai at the moment was clearly Meng Yu Xia. The red-clothed woman appeared to be fiddling with her hair while watching the young man before her.

Chu Kai was not even able to swallow his saliva, "W-how could he be here..?"

"I told you someone saw us and it turned out to be just this ordinary young man" Meng Yu Xia opened his voice.

The woman who was on the top of the tree chin looked down and then snorted, "Only an ordinary young man. Is useless. Just kill it,"
