Ch 47:Asteria City

After a few hours, Valen and Demian finally saw a town from a distance and immediately Demian descended and turned into a human, if anyone saw a Dragon flying into the city it would definitely make a fuss.

When they arrived in the city they saw the city was very large and crowded with people who walked here and there while carrying goods, most likely it was goods that they would sell or maybe used for work.

“First we need to stay overnight, I am very sleepy because my sleep last night was very short.” Demian said.

“Sorry but I don't have any money.” replied Valen pulling out his pants pocket.

“Take it easy. I always carry a lot of money in my pocket.” said Demian took out a piece of gold coin from his pocket.

“I wonder why it was still there after you turned into a Dragon and back into a human.” Valen said.

“That's important we have money.” replied Demian.

“Have nothing to think about, I am very sleepy now.” Demian said.

“Hah... Looks like he's this sleepyhead.” Inner Valen.

They then walked to find lodging in the city, it did not take long they had found a simple inn that only looked like a normal house in general.

“You sure this is lodging? I think this is the home of people.” Valen said after Demian invited him in.

“Already, just trust.” Demian said.

They also entered and it is true that there is a table and receptionist who serves them after entering.

“Alright then your room is two rooms that are in the right corner.” he said.

“Well then I go first! It's up to you what else now.” Demian said directly walking towards the direction indicated by the receptionist.

“Hah... Basic.” murmured Valen.

“Ya already then you should go around who knows there are interesting things in this city.” muttered Valen who then came out of the inn.

Valen decided to walk to a place where people were selling goods and food on the side of the road.

There was nothing of interest in the city except the Artifacts that Valen had seen before, perhaps the city was unattractive as Valen had yet to fully surround it.

“Then I should stop here, maybe some good food.” said Valen when in front of a building that read “Bar”.

The atmosphere in the place was not too bad because Valen initially thought that the people who would be in the bar were people with creepy faces who liked to disturb others.

Valen leisurely sat down in an empty chair and raised his hand, before a waiter asked Valen what he wanted to order.

After Valen mentioned his order the waiter then left and about 15 minutes passed the food came, from the aroma alone Valen already knew that the food must be delicious.

Valen ate voraciously spent all the food he ordered to make it full.

“I'm full..” Valen said after burping with fullness.

Seeing that Valen's food had run out, the waiter came and took his entire plate while saying the total cost for the food.

“All 50 copper coins.” he said with a smile.

“Sials... I instantly ran out of all my money with just one meal.” Inner Valen.

“The delicious taste of eating it is quite worth the price but unfortunately now I have no money at all... Then you should go back to the inn.” muttered Valen decided to return to the inn.

Arriving there Valen saw a woman with her son right at the reception desk and accidentally heard their words as he passed by.

“Please let us stay tonight! I promise when my husband comes tomorrow I'll pay double.” said the woman.

“Can't, because you can run before paying the cost.” replied the receptionist.

“I'm not lying! Please..” said the woman.

“Can't, better come tomorrow when your husband comes.” he replied.

“Then like that we sleep where tonight.”.

“I'm sorry, but it's none of my business.” he replied.

“Sleep in my room.” Valen interrupted their conversation.

“Sorry but I'm married.” said the woman staring cynically at Valen.

“No-no I didn't mean it that way.” Valen said trying to justify.

“Then?”

“I mean you guys just sleep in my room and I can sleep in another room.”

“You sure?”

“Of course.” replied Valen.

“After all there is no rule that people who rent cannot let others stay in their room, right? And there are no restrictions on people in one room as well.” Valen said.

“M-indeed true but..” replied the receptionist.

“Ya already then, I will show you which room.” said Valen.

Valen led them to his room to rest while putting down the items carried by them.

The woman was so grateful to Valen for helping her that she said she would give Valen anything if he wanted.

“You really want to give anything?” ask Valen.

“Sure.” answer.

“Then what mask can your son wear before be given to me?” ask Valen.

“Tent... Eh? The mask? You just want that mask? Really?” the woman replied a little confused.

“Of course, do you wish I asked what?” answer Valen.

“Ti-no-no. Then wait a minute.” he said go into the room and then return while carrying the mask requested by Valen before.

The woman thoughtlessly gave it to Valen but strangely said that Valen could ask for something else again but Valen refused and decided to go into Demian's room after receiving the mask.

“I'm really lucky! I didn't think the child I saw before was the girl's child.” Valen said looking happy when he got the mask.

[Didn't you say you don't like taking things from kids?]

“This is not taking but I was given to be different.” replied Valen.

“Then I get this by asking instead of taking.” replied Valen.

“Already! Now let's absorb this Artifact.” said Valen.
