Chapter 19: The Haruki Change

A monster emerged from the lake, destroying the ice that was on the surface of the lake. This monster is the Leviathan, a legendary creature known as the guardian of the lake. Leviathan has a giant body lined with shiny blue scales, reflecting its incredible strength. His large eyes gleamed with intensity, hinting at the unstoppable anger.

"Hari! The artifact stuck in his head," Yuki said in a surprised tone, pointing at the artifact stuck in his head.

Haruki, who saw the artifact move rapidly closer to Leviathan's enormous body, had plans to retrieve it.

In an instant, he unleashed the ice power that was within him. "Ice Lance!" yells. Hundreds of ice spears suddenly appeared in the air and immediately rained down on Leviathan's body.

Leviathan, who was shocked and wounded by the attack, became enraged. In his anger, he attacked Haruki with a very fast movement.

With sharp reflexes, Haruki jumped away from Leviathan's attack. While Leviathan's body hit the ground hard, it produced a violent tremor that propagated all over the surface of the lake.

Haruki stood up again, ready to continue his fight and retrieve the artifact they had been looking for all this time. Yuki stared proudly, realizing that Haruki was a very charming and great figure.

But that face of pride did not last long. Kira's loud shout broke the silence as she, Lily, Sera, and Aiko arrived at the scene.

"Hey!" kira shouted from not far behind Yuki. Yuki looked back, and saw the four people standing in full armament, ready to attack.

Yuki smiled cunningly. "Well, it turns out you are still alive ya~" he said in a dismissive tone, though in his heart he was troubled by their presence.

"Better you guys don't interfere with our plans~" Yuki said in a stern tone, trying to keep his dominance despite the presence of the four people was quite disturbing.

When Lily saw Haruki was fighting Leviathan, her eyes were sharp and she saw something shiny in Leviathan's head. "Isn't that the artifact you're looking for, Sera?" lily asked Sera, who then looked in the direction Lily pointed to.

Sera nodded enthusiastically. "Right, it's the artifact!"

Kira thought for a moment. "Should we take it?" He wanted to make sure they took this opportunity.

"You better not do anything stupid!" yuki said with a firm tone. However, it seems that the conversation could not avoid the fight, and now the fight was inevitable.

The battle begins, with Yuki trying to defend Leviathan and the artifacts he has, while Lily, Sera, Kira, and Aiko are determined to seize the artifacts.

While the fight was going on, Haruki remained focused on his mission to retrieve the artifact embedded in Leviathan's head. Using his abilities, he immediately used "Blink" to appear near Leviathan's head and tried to grab the artifact.

However, Leviathan, a powerful and intelligent being, is aware of Haruki's efforts. Without a doubt, Leviathan instantly dived back into the lake quickly, forcing Haruki to fight against losing his breath in an attempt to maintain a deep underwater position.

A cry calling out his name could be heard in his ears as Leviathan carried him deeper into the water. Haruki endured with a hard, tightly held hand of the artifact he so desperately needed.

Haruki's gaze began to fade due to Leviathan's rapid movement in the deepening water. He fought hard to maintain his consciousness and make sure he did not lose his grip on the artifact.

Haruki felt as if he was being herded to the bottom of the lake by such a strong water pressure. His body felt limp, and finally, he lost his grip on the artifact he so desperately needed. His consciousness faded as he continued to sink deeper into the dark water.

However, amidst his increasingly gloomy state, he heard a voice so familiar. The voice was similar to his own, but it seemed to be coming from within his mind. It is the voice of an entity that has long been in him, an entity that has been kept in silence.

"It's time I showed myself" said the voice in Haruki's mind. Although Haruki was getting closer to losing his consciousness, he could sense the existence of this entity that was ready to appear.

Kira, quickly takes the opportunity that arises when Yuki is too focused on Haruki's state. With his skill in shadow magic, he casts "Shadow Jail," locking Yuki's body in a shadowy snare, leaving her unable to move. Yuki struggles to break free, but she is already too attached.

Yuki screamed in pain as Lily and Aiko's attacks hit her body. The slash wounds opened on his skin, and he felt a great deal of pain. The shadowy snarl remained binding him, so he could not move freely in self-defense.

"Damn!" yuki shouted in an annoyed tone. He felt trapped in a difficult situation, their attacks that had managed to injure him made him even more lose consciousness due to the loss of a lot of blood. Even so, he had no intention of giving up just like that. With his last attempt, he tried to use his magic to find a way out of the shadow that trapped him.

Haruki, who was slowly sinking into the lake, started to change. A strong dark aura enveloped him, changing his appearance and voice. Now Haruki turned into a much more serious and heavy figure.

"It's time to play~" Haruki said in a deep and different voice than before. His expression changed, showing that this was not the same figure as the Haruki they knew. Something powerful and mysterious had risen within him.

Haruki moves agilely and viciously, chasing after Leviathan who is trying to escape to the bottom of the lake. Leviathan can't just run away.

"You can't run away" Haruki said firmly. With an extremely fast movement, he took out a large and powerful black chain from his hand. The chain quickly wrapped around Leviathan's body, ensnaring the giant creature in his grasp.

Leviathan groans in agony, trying to break away from Haruki's grip, but the chain is too strong. Haruki had made sure that Leviathan would not go anywhere.

Lily, with her eyes glistening furiously, yelled at Yuki while darting towards him, unsheathing her sword straight towards Yuki's heart. He is determined to avenge all of Yuki's previous devious deeds.

However, before Lily's sword could hit the target, the surface of the lake suddenly shook violently. Everything felt trembling as Leviathan shot out from within the lake, being thrown into the sky by Haruki. Leviathan's violent attack caused Kira and the others to lose their balance.

In this mess, the moves used by Kira also came loose, making Yuki free from the shadow that was limiting her. Yuki quickly takes advantage of this situation and moves away, realizing that in her current unfit condition, she will not be able to fight Kira and her friends.

Leviathan floated above the lake, causing huge and threatening waves. Haruki appeared from within the lake, his eyes were glowing ferociously, and he looked nothing like before.

Haruki, with eyes that were no longer like his previous self, saw Kira and the others being cornered Yuki. Without a doubt, he created a shadow of himself that immediately moved quickly towards them, providing assistance to Yuki.

Meanwhile, Haruki himself prepares to launch a deadly attack. With abundant magical power, he unleashed an attack under the name 'Fire Lance.' An enormous spear-shaped black flame appeared, emitting a heat powerful enough to make the surrounding lake water slightly evaporate.

With a powerful move, Haruki threw the spear with precision towards Leviathan. The spear pierced through Leviathan's massive body, causing the monster to be hit by a deadly black fire attack. Leviathan's body began to burn and let out a painful hissing sound. It is a very powerful and effective attack.

A shadowy figure resembling Haruki appeared in the middle of the fight, and with his overwhelming strength, he unleashed an enormous area attack. The energy waves blasted Kira, Lily, Aiko, and Sera, leaving them injured and knocked down.

After securing the injured Yuki, the shadow carried away his body quickly. Slowly, Leviathan's body began to turn into ashes, leaving only artifacts that fell and were captured by Haruki. The shadow that previously carried Yuki's body stood beside Haruki, handing Yuki's body to him before finally disappearing, returning to a shadow.

Lily, Kira, Aiko, and Sera moaned in pain from the mysterious shadow attack earlier. They were confused and unable to accept Haruki's actions which seemed to have betrayed them. An enraged Lily shouted at Haruki.

"Hari! What are you doing!" he exclaimed, eyes filled with anger and confusion.

Haruki was just staring at them coldly, the color of his eyes turning deep red almost like black. She no longer looks like the old Haruki. "It's none of your business. You better not bother us anymore. This is an opportunity for you to continue living."

After saying those words, Haruki turned around quickly, still carrying Yuki's injured body. A black fog emerged from Haruki's body, enveloping the two of them, and with a sudden, they disappeared, disappearing in a mist that was getting thinner and more invisible.

Lily yells, trying to stop Haruki and Yuki who have disappeared. Tears flowed from her eyes, and she felt so sad and confused by Haruki's actions. Kira, who had also witnessed everything, was devastated. He couldn't understand what had happened.

‘What made you be like that, Haru,’ Inner Kira before she bent her knees and buried her face in her hands. She also began to cry, feeling the loss of her changed best friend.
