My babysitter Maduku

My babysitter Maduku
Chapter 10

The next morning, at 05:00 a.m.

Ms. Nining woke up from her deep sleep after hearing the sound of baby crying that sounded so close. He was shocked and immediately got up from his position. Ms. Nining sat on the edge of the bed then started sharpening her hearing.

"It seems like there's a baby crying. Whose baby, huh?" mummified Bu Nining.

Because of the very curiosity, Ms. Nining immediately came out of her room and looked for the origin of the sound of the baby's cry. The more Bu Nining approached towards Arini and Dodi's room, the sound of the baby's cries became more and more clear.

"Well, it turns out that the sound of crying came from inside Dodi's room!" pekik Bu Nining with a look of wonder. "Who's the baby, huh? Or is it just my feeling" he murmured.

After being right in front of the door of Dodi and Arini's room, Bu Nining was sure that the sound of the baby's cry was indeed heard from inside the room. He knocked on Dodi's door while calling his son's name.

"Dodi, Dodi! Are you inside?"

It turns out that Dodi and Arini were calming the tiny baby they just found last night. The baby was fussy from feeling thirsty after a few hours of deep sleep next to Arini.

"That's Mom, Mas? What if she gets angry and disagrees if we take care of this baby?" arini asked with an anxious face looking at Dodi.

Dodi actually doubted that Bu Nining was willing to agree to him and Arini taking care of the tiny baby. The man was still silent as he watched the door of his room being knocked by Bu Nining. After a few seconds, Dodi approached the door and opened it.

"Yes, Mom. What's up?" Dodi stood between the door and the wall of her room while smiling a warm smile at Ms. Nining.

"Mother heard the sound of a baby crying coming from your room. Is that true, or is it just your feelings?" asked Bu Nining while peeking into Dodi's room. However, it was a pity that Dodi's body made him unable to see into the room clearly.

"Ehm, actually ...." Dodi breathed heavily. He was confused on how to explain to Ms. Nining that there was currently a baby in his room.

"What's up, Dodi? Don't tell me that there's a baby in your room?!" pekik Bu Nining with eyebrows that are interlocked.

He was aghast after seeing Arini who was sitting on the edge of his bed while giving a bribe to a tiny baby. Ms. Nining was very confused.

In his heart he kept wondering, whose baby was being held by his daughter-in-law. It is impossible that the baby belongs to Arini because as far as Bu Nining knows Arini is not pregnant.

"Who's baby is that, Dodi?!" pekik Bu Nining while looking at Dodi who was still standing behind him.

"Come, Mom. Sit down first, let Dodi explain everything," said Dodi as he approached Bu Nining and then invited him to sit in a chair in the room.

Ms. Nining complied and sat down on the chair while holding back her curiosity. "Now tell Mom, whose baby it is!"

"All right, Mom." Dodi grabbed the other seat then placed it not far from where Bu Nining was sitting.

"Last night Arini and I found this baby on our porch, Mom. I don't know who put it on our porch, we don't know. We brought her in and we intend to take care of and adopt this poor baby" Ms Nining said.

"Can't, Dodi!" peek at Bu Nining while shaking his head quickly. "What if this baby is a baby of a woman by night? From the origin alone it is unclear, how could you want to adopt it? Do you remember the saying, Dodi? The falling fruit will not be far from the tree. You understand what I mean, don't you?" continued Bu Nining with a visibly annoyed face.

"Mom, don't say that. Don't you have any pity to see it?" Dodi pointed towards the baby who was sucking his sufor voraciously in Arini's embrace.

While Arini did not dare to say anything and let Dodi persuade the middle-aged woman.

"Ah, once no, still not!" ms. Nining.
