The Demon King's heir
CHAPTRE. 04 - SALTWATER GODDESS

Shoyu Lake is a lake near their home and includes a lake whose water is still clear as in the mountains. Some people come here to get some very fresh water when it gets to the throat. But, they never knew that in this lake, something bad was waiting for them.

”Look at uncle wolf! Lots of small fish there!” exclaimed Shin Yixuan who looked happy after she was finally outside the house along with Guanyun.

”Be careful. Do not let you fall.” said Guanyun while pulling Shin Yixuan's hand to get away from the lake in front of him.

”But, Uncle! What is that in the middle of the lake?” shin Yixuan asked as she pointed towards the thousands of long black hairs that had sprung up from within the lake and those hairs started to form a semicircle and continued to propagate all the way to the lip of the lake.

In surprise, Guanyun looked back to look at him. Instantly, he felt extremely shocked because at this moment, the Shoyu lake was almost completely covered by tangled black hair. ”... It turned out to be more dangerous than I thought!” inner Guanyun while pulling Shin Yixuan with him.

However, when that happened, the hairs walked out of the lake and chased after the two very quickly. Some of the trees split in half and the ground that became their footing both turned into sticky mud.

”Uncle wolf! Whatisit? Why is he chasing?” asked Shin Yixuan who kept running away following Guanyun who pulled her.

”She is the Goddess of salt water! If you get caught by him, your life will end quickly.” Guanyun replied before finally, he looked surprised because there were some large strands of hair on top of his head. And quickly, his sharp nails instantly cut the hair and decided to lift Shin Yixuan's body with him.

For a while, the two managed to save themselves from the pursuit of hair belonging to the Goddess of salt water. However, the two of them did not expect that the ground they were stepping on started to tremble and slowly turned into mud.

”Cih! He attacked from deep in the ground!”

When Guanyun decided to jump up the tree, suddenly hundreds of hairs appeared from the ground and directly tied one of his legs. He was forced to hang on a tree because of the hair that kept pulling him down.

”Did uncle's leg not hurt? Your legs are bleeding!” said Shin Yixuan who looked anxious after seeing blood dripping out of Guanyun's ankle that was being pulled by his hair.

Guanyun tried not to look in pain in front of him. Therefore he said, ”I'm fine Young master. This is just a small wound.” he replied. ”After all this was my fault for already taking the young master to a very dangerous place.”

Just now he said it, suddenly both of them fell because of a tree branch that could not withstand the burden that was under it. As they fell, a small part of the hairs pulled onto Shin Yixuan's body which finally slipped from Guanyun's grip.

Guanyun was startled and tried to take Shin Yixuan back. However, the hairs were so strong that they sank into the sticky, watery mud. Meanwhile, he himself did not know what would happen next and where the saltwater Goddess took Shin Yixuan away.

A moment later, Guanyun transformed himself into a giant wolf and destroyed all the hair around him. He bit and scratched the trees around him. His red eyeballs lit up and his sturdy legs continued to smash around. However, after he rampaged like that, the hundreds of hairs that attacked him instantly disappeared quickly and he also lost Shin Yixuan there.

”Yixuan! You here?!” exclaimed Shin Buyen who immediately entered his house with a feeling of anxiety and fear that something would happen to him. However, after many times he called out to her, he also did not get an answer from her. There was only the sound of the wind blowing out there.

His gaze looked increasingly anxious. He had been looking for it everywhere until in the end, his steps stopped in the backyard that looked messy. Some knives belonging to Shin Yixuan scattered everywhere even to the point of damaging his flower pot and some medicinal plants.

”I hope this is not a bad sign.” murmured Shin Buyen who began to feel anxious. He then grabbed one of the knives that stuck to the ground. It was obvious that the knife was cold. That meant, Shin Yixuan had already left this place since earlier.

Shin Buyen bit her lip and finally went into the forest. However, before he actually left, several wolves emerged from within his house and hampered his journey. ”Cih! Apparently it was the wolf who had done all this!” Shin Buyen clucked in annoyance and prepared to attack with his knife.

One of the wolves began to move closer to him with his mouth open. And just then, Shin Buyen ran up to him with a forward-facing blade. A second later, blood began to splash everywhere and stain his backyard. The wolf's body was split in two!

”Truly troublesome!”

”Your Highness, are you okay?” ask the woman who has been walking with her since she climbed a hill.

The woman was none other than a human-shaped snake demon named Guju whereas, the man served by her was the seventh Demon King, Luo Hein. They had been in the mortal realm for a long time since Luo Hein had met a human child named Shin Buyen who was about to become his wife. Guju never expected, the power possessed by Luo Hein slowly weakened as he had never returned to his own palace since that day.

”I'm just a little weak. It seemed, something was happening to the two of them at this moment. The proof, the spell I put around the forest is getting weaker and even a wolf is able to enter it.” Luo Hein said as she wiped the blood that was under her lips.

”Your Majesty should return to the Palace and improve your current state.” replied Guju while helping her stand up.

”I think, now is not the right time to return.” Luo Hein said. ”... They're both not doing well, especially my own son. There were many demons who wanted his blood and also his death. His blood is like mine. Whoever drinks it even if it is just a drop, he will gain immortality. And I, won't let that happen!”

Guju remained silent for a while and finally bowed before him and replied, ”I understand Your Majesty. I will also guard the only treasure His Majesty currently has.”
