98. Sick of love

Clara was still sitting on the front floor of Zayn's apartment door. He cried bitterly thinking about his fate, the fate of the fetus in his womb and the fate of Zayn who was the father of the fetus he was carrying.

"Why is this sick? Why does love hurt? Shouldn't it be happy?" Clara spoke while sobbing.

"Let's come with us!" someone's orders to Clara.

Clara looked up after she saw that there was a leg of someone in front of her. He stared at the person before him for a long time as if he wanted to ask who the person was, but his lips were unable to speak words.

"Follow us to help Zayn. We're a messenger from Mr. Nathan Xavier to take you to meet Zayn and save him. Are you going to save him by testifying that Zayn is innocent no matter what?" ask the guy to Clara.

Clara nodded enthusiastically with a slight smile splashing from her lips.

"Please take me to Zayn. I'll save her, no matter what," Clara said expectantly.

"Did you promise?" ask the person firmly.

"Yes, I promise. Whatever happens, I'll definitely testify to saving Zayn because he's innocent," Clara spoke again to reassure the man before her that she supported Zayn so he could meet Zayn.

"Alright, come with us now. Come quickly, don't waste time," the man ruled Clara very firmly.

Clara immediately got up from her seat, and walked after the man. And Clara is convinced that they were actually sent by Daddy Nathan because the person who picked her up is no ordinary person. Their appearance was typical of the bodyguards present in every place the Xavier family was located and their number was not just one.

"Where are we going?" clara asked them when the car was already running a few meters from Zayn's apartment.

"To the Police Station. Zayn is being held there" one of them replied.

"W-what... is Zayn okay?" Clara asked fearfully.

"You think you can be okay when you go to jail?" the person answered Clara's question in annoyance.

Clara shriveled in fear, her head bowed and her eyes glazed over. But the shadow of Zayn smiling at her was right before her eyes.

Clara closed her eyes hoping she could see Zayn's shadow and smile for longer. But there was even a shadow of Zayn when his hands were handcuffed by the Police and looked at him with sadness. Clara's eyes slowly dripped down her cheeks.

Clara didn't want to open her eyes because she wanted to convince herself that she loved Zayn all this time. The memory of him and Zayn all this time came like a replayed film recording.

What he saw now made him realize that he was very guilty of Zayn who was very patient and loved him very much. His tears were getting louder, the sound of his sobs getting louder until those who were escorting him felt guilty to Clara who they knew was now pregnant with Zayn's child.

They neither forbade nor scolded Clara because they knew it was hard for her. They knew that Clara's parents, who made Zayn feel ashamed, had their hands handcuffed by the police and taken to the police station.

And this is the time. Two lawyers from the legal team who handled Zayn's case approached the car. Clara was taken into the Police Station in front of her.

Zayn who was facing backwards to find out who would be the witness for him became shocked, his eyes widened when he found the figure of the woman he loved crying fearfully against his parents in order to free him.

Zayn looked pityfully at Clara who walked over to him.

"Darling, are you okay? Why are you crying? It's not good if pregnant women cry" said Zayn while rubbing the trail of tears on the cheeks of the woman.

"Zayn..," only one of those words made it out of Clara's mouth while hugging Zayn's body and sobbing in Zayn's arms.

Zayn rubbed Clara's back to calm her down. Kissing the head of Clara who was comfortable in his arms.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine. You don't feel sad anymore" said Zayn, letting out a sweet smile.

"Don't put out your drama here. Clara hates him a lot, sir. Surely our son was threatened to play their scenario," Mama Clara re-issued her defense.

"Don't be rude, madam. We never threaten or pressure your child. She herself voluntarily wanted to give her testimony to the authorities" one of the lawyers from Zayn's legal team denied the allegations from Mama Clara.

"We're his parents, we know all about our son. So don't influence her and give her back to us" Mama Clara issued her threat.

"No. I don't want to split up with Zayn. L loved her. Zayn is the father of the child I bear, not Raymond. You two of my parents should have supported me not to part with Zayn, instead of telling me to get Raymond to marry me in any way. Anyway I don't want to split with Zayn, period," said Clara voiced her heart with her voice.

"It's clear sir. And we're going to sue them both with defamation charges Zayn and Raymond Xavier!" Daniel, a lawyer for Zayn's legal team, said their first lawsuit.
