Forest Walker — Beginning

The last of the four races to be found here is Forest Walker.

Forest Walker is a racial group that enjoys living in the woods. Unlike the humans who developed civilization, they chose natural things. Unlike the beastman race who had physical abilities above humans, they had a higher affinity with spirits. And in contrast to the ferocious demon race, they were more reserved as long as they were not disturbed.

Simply put, they are a peaceful and calm race as long as they are not disturbed. And exclusively, they have a relationship with the spirits.

They as a racial group that preserve nature and keep it, successfully get the attention of the spirits who are the form of the will of the world. That way they have a special ability, which is to contract with spirits.

Having a contract with spirits gives them many advantages. The spirits who contract with them, the spirits become servants. Can be used as a fighting force or help in daily work. Give them profit anyway.

Then because of their good relationship with the spirits, the Queen of the Spirit told Dans et al. to establish a relationship with the Forest Walkers. Another reason, because the Forest Walker residence is quite close to the Dark White Tower where the Forbidden Witch of Melarosa is located. But it doesn't seem to go well.

Forest Walker as a closed race group, they are very sensitive to everything that smells of the outside world. Now the six of them were captured by one of the tribes and placed in separate cages.

“Hah... gini very lively.” Dans sighed and muttered.

She is now alone with Suzuka in the same cage. Dark, moist, and silent. That was the atmosphere inside the Dans cage that was inside the warehouse. It was a little far from the village where the tribes lived. Both were tied to a pole. They could have revolted and cut the circle, but in the worst case scenario when they miscalculated, they might have knocked down the building.

"Patience, we also can not attack them carelessly," said Suzuka.

"So, now what?" ask Dans.

"Wait and pay attention," Suzuka replied, "Using your improved perception you can keep an eye on them from this place, right?"

And so, at Suzuka's suggestion Dans kept quiet and observed the Forest Walkers in the village using their perceptual abilities. So far nothing has gone too far with them. They were ordinary, human-like villagers ignoring some of their unique physical parts as Forest Walkers. So far, the six prisoners have been treated fairly well with food and drink. Once every few hours someone will come to them and ask them a few questions. It seems that these arrests were intended to interrogate them.

It's okay if it's just that. Looking at the place of their separate arrests, the people in this tribe ascertained whether the information of one member of the Dans group with another was the same. The value of the information is the same then most likely it is honesty, and also the information is different it can be said that each of them makes up their own stories.

But good thing, they were released after several days of questioning. It really takes a whole day. They even need to be free the next day.

But that's fine because now they are welcomed kindly by the leader of this tribe.

"Sorry to have treated you disrespectfully yesterday, but we need to do that to look after our group" he said.

"No, it's okay" replied Dans, "I also understand that the situation is currently precarious and you can't just let anyone in your place. After all, we got pretty good treatment as captives."

Quite a lot of information about Forest Walker that Suzuka managed to get, but of course it was not enough. However, research has never been done in a much more advanced way. There is still no surgery on them to find out their organs. But nevermind. It's not like Suzuka can do it anyway. It was also impossible for Suzuka to do their subdistrict matters only in the name of research.

The atmosphere became friendly and harmonious with each of the Dans and Forest Walkers, at least until Dans asked about the Dark White Tower. When Dans asked that, the expression of the Forest Walker village chief immediately turned flat.

In short, any information related to the Dark White Tower is not good news to hear. The village chief explained:

The Dark White Tower had wrongly appeared since a long time ago. About two generations earlier according to their village records. And from what they've heard to date, sometimes there's a "black figure" coming in and out of the Dark White Tower. The creatures stole and looted in the villages randomly without feeling. Worse, they sometimes also kidnap innocent citizens without a mother - asking whether their target of kidnapping is a woman or a child.

All the information they could contact made the Dans group feel bad and uneasy to hear it. Hearing the cruelty they experienced really made his group Dans feel wrathful. This made them realize that they must immediately overcome Melarosa — witch of the Dark White Palace.

Only, the village chief commemorated them. "The "black figure" that attacked and plundered the villages was never left alone. Surely the warrior of the village will try to protect his village by fighting the figure. Unfortunately, the struggles of those who are helped by the spirits often fail. The village chief warned that their enemy was quite formidable.

But Dans says that it will be nothing because he has a formidable nemesis.

Moving on to the other side, here are Zen and Della doing the fight. Their opponent is a "black figure". The creature is like a bipedal rabbit and the size of a human. Then because his body was covered by black, seeing it made the creature look like a silhouette of a shadow.

*glash!* *slash!*

Zen slashed down with both of his swords and instantly split the black rabbit into pieces. But after a while, the black-colored body pieces melted and fused back into one individual that was the same as before.

"Troubtful," Zen grumbled, "It really can't be destroyed if it's not completely destroyed, huh?"

After saying so, Zen jumped to the side. Behind her was Della who was looking at the black rabbits.

*print!* *Shelf!*

The black rabbits petrified in front of Della's gaze, then they shattered into smaller fragments.

"It's lucky you're here, Della." Zen sheathed his sword and approached the girl. "You this fight will be troublesome."

And after that one problem, they continued their journey within the vast forest.
