Ballad Inmates (Part 40)

...By Dalem Tehang...

AFTER the Dhuhur prayer congregation, Edi the head of the room stated, this afternoon we got a shipment of yellow rice from the Doni family. Because today is his 49th birthday.

“Definitely not yellow rice. Later we have been waiting for not yearya not clear,” said Asnawi.

“Definitely come. Just patience. We both wait. Can nahan laper some time,” said Doni.

Until the Ashar Adhan is heard from the mosque next to the mapolres, the long-awaited yellow rice does not come.

“Where is this, Doni? It's too late for all of us,” said Edi while looking at Doni.

Doni looked confused. He could only shrug his shoulders and shake his head. A sign that he could do nothing.

Ijal. He called out tamping with a loud scream from near the bars. Shortly after, Adit arrived.

“Try the hell see in the guard post. There was no yellow rice. That made us lunch. Her birthday is Doni,” Ijal told Adit.

“Tadi emang nganter bundle guede that. He said yellow rice for Doni. But the same guard is being let on the table. I dare not take it,” said Adit.

Ijal looked at Doni. Edi ordered Doni to the guard post. Talk to the guard officer. Adit opened the room door. Doni accompanied Ijal to the guard post.

About 10 minutes later, Doni and Ijal returned to the room. From the front of the room, Doni said, his yellow rice shipment was detained by officers and will only be handed over at the change of guard officers, later tonight.

“Hoo is not good if the later yellow rice is eaten, Doni. How to do it now must be taken,” said Edi. Reigning.

Doni scratched his head. Confused what to do. Suddenly Ijal turned around. Back to the guard post.

A few minutes later, Ijal walked back to the room. In his hand was a large package that he carried carefully. That's yellow rice as Doni's birthday celebration.

Adit opened the room door. Doni and Ijal enter the room. Adit's coming in. Then we had lunch in the afternoon after the Ashar Adzan echoed. Adit also ate yellow rice sent by the Doni family.

Before eating, we said happy birthday to Doni one by one by greeting and hugging him. Edi leads the prayer.

“Kok you can take the yellow rice, Jal. How?” asked Doni while looking at Ijal who was eating voraciously.

“Yes too, Jal. We were also surprised how you could take it. Doni who has just can't,” Edi interrupts.

Ijal turned his face. Look at us one by one. Knowing that we were all waiting for an answer, he laughed.

“On just want to know, do you want to know real?” ijal. Still with a big laugh. Until the rice in his mouth can spray out.

“Bigger than you, Jal. Ngerjain aja his favorite,” ketus Tomy. Laughs too.

“Come, Jal. Tell me how you can be a sakti gini. Guard officers until you surrender,” said Aris. Chimed.

“So on want to know the real yes,” said Ijal. Still with a laugh. Spontaneous we all nodded our heads.

“For a while, I drink first,” said Ijal. Deliberately stalling. Play the feelings of friends in the room.

“Emang son of Satan this Ijal. We're all made to rise in blood,” Edi. Uncurdling.

“Propay dong, Kap. We in this room agreed not to be angry. Later if Kap is often angry, so more old than his age lo,” said Ijal again.

“Ah come, Jal. Bodo you really want to tell me what not. The important thing is that the yellow rice has come and we are no longer sparse,” said Asnawi.

After drinking water from a glass, Ijal tidied up his seat. Be cross-legged. We all waited for him to tell us.

“Not first, Jal. Do you really want to tell what story? If you don't want to already. Besides, it's not important either. The importance of it can eat yellow rice and it is done,” said Tomy.

It seems that Tomy is upset because he feels played by the way Ijal continues to stall for time.

“Don't marahan lo. It will be removed from room 10. This is an exclusive room in this detention complex,” said Ijal. Responding to Tomy's annoyance.

“Much of your talk, Jal. It's there. Work your duty. Cepet mengesin used to eat, continued nyapu and menggepel,” said Edi, who also looked upset.

“Ready, Cap!” ijal Sahut. OD room 10 was immediately stood up and carried out his duties.

We looked at each other. And smile at Ijal's behavior. Young people who are caught in this case of persecution are always able to create a different atmosphere in the room.

Sometimes he is full of humor, joking around with unusual jokes. But often also show a haughty attitude, making it upset.

I just got out of the bathroom after taking an afternoon shower, when I saw an officer standing in front of the bars. The officer nodded his head.

“Sore, Sir,” I said. Greet.

“Sore too, Babe. Sorry, the yellow rice was stuck for a long time at the guard post. Didn't know that Doni was in this room. Pas Ijal said that Doni roomed with Babe, I immediately love him. Sorry yes, Be,” said the guard in a friendly voice.

“O yes, it's okay, sir. We were all tired. So I asked Doni and Ijal to go to the guard post. Sorry to have taken nicotine,” my mouth. Respectfully.

The guard smiled. And turning. Back to his job. Before he could walk, I called him.

I gave him a pack of cigarettes that my wife had brought. It's the first time I've given a cigarette to a guard after a month of being a prisoner in a safe house.

“Oh, Thankyou. Thanks, Babe. I wish Babe well and my family,” the officer said as he received a cigarette from my hand. I guaranteed his prayer.

As soon as the guard was not seen again, Doni immediately patted the shoulder of Ijal who was still mopping the floor, tightly.

“Know you now. Apparently you can take the yellow rice because selling the name Babe yes,” said Doni.

Ijal laughed. Tomy, Irfan, Aris, and Asnawi wake up from their respective places. By beating Ijal while laughing.

“You are a real bastard, Jal. Pantes did not want to tell the story, apparently your magic can make the guard love yellow rice earlier because selling the name Babe,” ketus Asnawi.

Ijal laughing. While continuing to perform his duties. Mopping the room floor. The atmosphere of the evening room was full of joy.

“Jal, how can you keepet name Babe time take Doni yellow rice earlier?” asked Aris who was still curious.

“Suddenly just crossed. In this room is what is routinely dibesuk it Babe. It means Babe is a name known here, other than Kap Edi. Moreover, this afternoon, Babe's wife and children had run out. That means the officer hasn't changed. Ndadak aja cross, call the name Babe. Uh, directly told to bring the yellow rice,” explained Ijal, after completing the mopping task.

“That's a powerful meaning is actually Babe, not you, Jal,” continued Aris.

“Don't get it wrong, om. Many people have high knowledge but do not know the use. Yeah, it's no use. Ijal is not much science, but clever benefits the science of others, so immediately clear the benefits,” he said with a proud smile.

“Ah, already, Jal. A lot of this you talk. You are clever and you can benefit the situation. Keep honing that ability. Your success later with that science,” said Edi. He pointed his two thumbs towards Ijal.

“Thank you, Temperature,” Ijal said while bending his body. Stylish like in a Shaolin movie. We all laughed.

The Maghrib Adhan. We all pack for prayer. After worship, read surah yasin. The voice taught us quite loudly. Until it sounded until the guard post.

Without us noticing, an officer was standing in front of the room. Looking at us who are teaching. Pepen is the only non-Muslim who did not join. He sits in his place. Down face. Respect the religious procession of his one-room comrades. (connected)
