Just when Ye Ling stepped out of her study, she suddenly felt a premonition hidden amidst the breeze in the depths of the night.

His eyes narrowed in an instant and one of his hands moved instinctively to the hilt of his sword.

The wind roared suddenly as several shadows descended from the roof.

In an instant, Ye Ling was surrounded by four figures wearing black clothes.

“Gentlemen, what do I owe you for your visit at this hour?” Ye Ling put on a face as her eyes scanned the vast courtyard. There was no sign of the guard who was supposed to be on duty and other than himself, only four uninvited guests were around.

"Are you the head of this household?" One of them, who seemed to be the leader, asked.

"Yes." Yeah." Ye Ling replied.

The leader's eyes emitted a threatening look and as he exchanged glances with the others, they unsheathed their swords at the next moment and attacked Ye Ling without a word!

Ye Ling was shocked as she crossed swords with those people.

In the blink of an eye, as many sparks as the stars in the night sky flew from their folded steel impact.

The four men were powerful enemies, even for Ye Ling when she was in her prime. Not to mention with his recently weakened condition, he could not hope to win against them and thus, break out in a cold sweat in a few moments.

The leader sent Ye Ling flying with a sudden kick that dropped her to the ground. Ye Ling's life was almost lost as the men dove towards her with their swords.

Just as the tip of their sword was about to pierce through his chest, an arc of slashing light flashed in front of them.

It was followed by a quartet of clangs of male steel as the trajectory of their swords was misled by that beam of light!

A petite figure appeared suddenly from behind the courtyard wall, cutting straight between the man and Ye Ling.

“Tang Tang! Get out of here now!” Ye Ling could never expect her daughter to appear out of nowhere. Protecting himself from those people was already beyond his means, even if Ye Qingtang possessed an innate seventh stage strength, defeating them was still impossible.

Ye Qingtang put on a cold face as he stood in front of Ye Ling. Under the moonlight, the cold gaze of his eyes swept across the four bloodthirsty enemies that were preying on them.

"Lass, you want to die too?" The leader furrowed his brows and exuded killing intent as he watched over Ye Qingtang, who appeared suddenly.

Ye Qingtang stood undaunted with Ye Ling behind him. In his past tonight, his father was killed by a hitman hired by the Great Elder. He would never allow the tragedy to happen again now that he was reborn.

Ye Qingtang added without flinching: “Obviously it is not cheap to buy the services of Qin Luo Pavilion. May I ask for the price to involve your good self, Master Qin Luo, the great leader, and your three extremely talented subordinates? Let me guess, the price must be over ten thousand gold, right?”
