CHAPTER 7. Offers from Emma
The atmosphere inside the black BMW car became as quiet and calm as before. Emma and Chris still hold each other's hands.
Emma did not let go of her hand so Chris let her. Although there was no Dylan there, which required the two of them to act.
"Dome!" call Chris in a soft voice.
"Yes" Emma replied and looked at Chris.
"Are you sure you want to marry me, the stranger you just met last night?" ask Chris.
"I'm sure! We're getting married tomorrow!" answer Emma with certainty.
"How was your marriage to William Pattinson?" ask Chris without further ado.
"Do you know everything?" Emma asked Chris.
"The business marriage of two large families, Watson and Pattinson has spread in various media. It wasn't hard for me to get that information" Chris replied honestly.
"Business marriage without any bonds of love and has been carefully prepared since six months ago. I received a proposal from the Pattinson Family at the time because Will was indeed the best candidate to be my future husband" Emma replied honestly.
"So now he's not the right husband for you?" ask Chris.
Chris' question was not just a guess, but the young man was already convinced of the answer.
"Really! Last night I caught Will cheating on me with a cheap woman. So you have to replace her as my groom at the wedding tomorrow" Emma replied with a smile.
Chris stared intensely at Emma's pair of clear eyes. There was clearly no disappointment or sadness when Emma recounted William's affair last night.
Chris was relieved in his little heart because he believed Emma had never liked or loved William.
"You don't regret canceling the marriage with him?" ask Chris.
"I'd rather know his affair before marriage. If not, what infectious disease will gnaw my body and come from that cheap woman" replied Emma.
"Didn't your future husband also have frequent relationships with other women?" ask Chris.
Of course Chris learned from Rio's report that William would often change partners before becoming engaged to Emma, six months ago.
"That's a great business wedding. It wasn't just me and Will that were involved. Watson and Pattinson's family took over" Emma replied.
Chris was silent and looked at Emma calmly. The young man waited patiently for Emma to tell him a story, while Emma herself told him the truth as it was because she did not feel there was anything she needed to hide from Chris.
"Will and I did a full prenuptial medical check-up six months ago.
So it could be said that Will became dirty again because he cheated last night" said Emma.
"Your decision is very appropriate" said Chris.
"So you agreed to marry me?" ask Emma with enthusiasm.
"Maybe I'm not as good as you see me now. You can regret it later," replied Chris.
Chris didn't mean to scare Emma. He does not know when his dark past will come to haunt him.
Chris' words made Emma look at him intensely from head to toe. Emma thought seriously about what Chris said.
"You playboy?" ask Emma with a serious face.
"No! But I'm married" replied Chris.
"What?" emma's screams spontaneously.
Emma pulled both of Chris' hands and examined the young man's fingers one by one. There are no wedding rings out there.
Chris could guess what Emma had in mind and did not take the initiative to explain anything. Maybe this is the right way for Emma to cancel plans to marry him.
Although there was no wedding ring on Chris' finger, Emma believed the young man's words.
"May I be the third person in your marriage?" ask Emma.
"My wife is dead" replied Chris.
"Thank God! I mean, thank God I didn't become an actor, not because of your wife's death" Emma explained quickly.
Chris chuckled at Emma's innocent attitude. Chris admits the young girl next to him is full of surprises and can make his life full of color.
"Do I accept this forced marriage?" inner Chris.
"My wife is dead, but I have a son in Australia" Chris said.
For a while only two things about his past could Chris tell Emma.
"It's okay. I don't have a problem being a stepmom" Emma said.
"So you're still determined to marry me?" ask Chris.
"Yes, but you must accept one condition from me!" answer Emma.
"I was forced to marry her. I'm also the one who has to grant her request" Chris said.
"What's the condition?" ask Chris.
"You have to do a full prenuptial medical check-up" replied Emma.
"She must be worried that I'm getting a contagious disease like her ex-fiancee" said Chris.
Chris' silence made Emma make another deal. Emma makes an interesting offer to get Chris to agree.
"I am willing to grant all your wishes as long as you are willing to marry me. Papa and Kak Dylan will help your company thrive in Bali!" said Emma.
