Knight Of Pensylon: Rise Of The Cavalier

Knight Of Pensylon: Rise Of The Cavalier
Chapter 21 - The Gateway of the Dormitory

*PoV Christopher*

I remember exactly what happened a month ago. That memory really stuck in my head. The day I lost everything.

Families, possessions, houses, villages, hopes, dreams, everything was destroyed by fire that night. I myself can only remain helpless. His reason?

Because I'm too weak.

That's why I'm here, with Norman and some people who are getting more and more crowded. We stood in this place together with our horses.

We were at the entrance of the Knights of Pensylon dormitory. Waiting to be trained, waiting to be stronger, waiting to start.

Waiting to be Knights of Pensylon.

...----------------...

I remember three days after that worst night, I decided to join the Knights of Pensylon. You could say, everyone disagrees with my decision.

Victoria, of course, immediately protested, scolding me for "following Norman's trail to death".

Then Mr. Hendrickson and Mr. Alexander both questioned my decision because they knew it was dangerous.

Even Norman himself initially forbade me to join the Knights of Pensylon following in his footsteps.

But that night my decision was made. I'll join the Knights of Pensylon no matter what. I no longer care about how dangerous it is to be a Knights of Pensylon.

I've witnessed and felt myself the fear and insecurity of direct warfare, I don't even need to be a Knights of Pensylon to feel it all.

Therefore, in the end they were all forced to let my decision to become a knight willing to die for the sake of the King (at least that's what the people said)

If they knew my real reason for joining the Knights of Pensylon, I don't think they'd agree.

The reason I want to get stronger so that I can protect my friends is actually not that big, even just nonsense if you ask me.

My reason was, because I wanted to find anyone who breathed Wheatville air that night, and bring them together with their own Dragon Soul.

"By the way, Norman. How much is your new horse worth?" I asked while pointing to the brown horse next to him.

The horse is completely new. I forgot the name, but if it's not wrong it has something to do with the intelligence of the owner. But obviously I really don't know how great this one horse is.

Was he as fast as Spirit or even faster? Does he have as much stamina as Snow or even stronger? Or even both?

It all depends on the price of the horse, at least that's what I think. Norman glanced at the horse for a while before then turned back towards me and said...

"About 10,000 Grafts as I recall."

10,000 GRAFT?! FOR THE SAKE OF PENSYLON'S SOUL IS EXPENSIVE! Even my home furnishings in Wheatville just yet if everything was sold wouldn't be worth it

Oh shit, I remember Wheatville. Back remembering... Damnit.

I really need to get stronger.

"10,000 grafts?! For the Soul of Pensylon, Norman. Where'd you get that kind of money?!" my many.

"Are you aware that since my mother died, I haven't bought anything insignificant?" Norman asked back.

Also, when I buy things like books and Victoria has to buy "women only" essentials, Norman doesn't buy anything that doesn't feel important.

I'm not saying that it's not important, but Norman used to ask me to bring in new books that I bought so he could read them too. So I don't think he needs to buy the book himself.

"Ah. I see, you saved up early so you could buy a new horse to join the Knights of Pensylon, yes." I conclude.

Norman nodded his head, before then he added a few words...

"If you're honest, Kristoff. At first I wanted to buy Spirit from you, because that horse was arguably the best horse I've ever ridden.

But because I realized the importance of Spirit to you, and also because I realized that Spirit is not suitable for me at all, that's why I chose to buy Genius." he explained.

That's her! Genius! That's the name of Norman's new horse, his name is really Norman once. I mean, who else named their horse Genius other than Norman?

But he originally wanted to buy Spirit, hmm...

"I want to warn you one thing, Norman." I said as I stroked Spirit's head.

"Even 10,000 Grafts won't be enough to make me want to give up Spirit on you, or on anyone" I said.

"I knew you wouldn't give it to me, but at least forget it." Norman said.

I knew what she wanted to say, but she chose not to say it so she wouldn't hurt my feelings. I mean, honestly...

So my current self feels like a miracle, and I know Norman doesn't want to make me drown in grief again.

"Hey, you guys came in the morning" said a girl behind me.

Norman seemed to smile at the man, so I knew that for sure...

"Victoria." Norman said.

Victoria was walking while holding Snow's harness next to her. Her blond hair and beautiful face (believe me, Norman first said it and I agree with him) made her the center of attention of the people here.

"It's hard to believe that a month ago you said you hated me for joining the Knights of Pensylon, and now here you are." I told Victoria.

"Hey, you know I joined only as a Medical officer, right?" answer Victoria.

It only makes sense to me that this girl chose to go to the Medical section. Having an experienced uncle as a doctor certainly makes him understand at least one or two things about paramedics.

In addition, he could not possibly be on the front lines because both of his parents used to be killed in battle as scouts.

Second one... Old people... Families... Perish... Damnit...

I really need to get stronger.

"But I didn't expect that you would eventually join the Knights of Pensylon, Victoria" Norman said.

"Same." I agreed.

Victoria threw her face away, before pointing at Norman and saying "This is all because you know!"

"Huh?! What is it because of me?!" Norman denied

"Because of your crazy idea of joining the Knights of Pensylon, Christopher went along!"

"What does this have to do with Kristoff joining?! Do you really think it was my fault?! Kristoff wants to join the Knights of Pensylon!!"

"Of course it's your fault! You're the first one to join the Knights of Pensylon!!"

"What's wrong?! I used to say I wanted to join the Knights of Pensylon! Besides, if you don't want to join, you don't have to come with us!!!"

"Based on a freak!"

"Based on the fucking girl!"

"Basic shrimp brains!"

"If my brain is like a shrimp brain, then what is your brain like?!"

Believe it or not, nothing will stop Norman and Victoria from fighting, not even Mr. Alexander or Mr. Hendrickson gave up on that.

But there's one thing that makes me feel weird every time I see them fighting a long time ago. But I never knew what was really strange about their fight.

"Um, excuse me..."

Eh?

I immediately turned my body which was originally facing North to South, and I saw it.

A long reddish black haired girl. It's more or less the same as any other girl I've ever met (or at least, Victoria).

"Can you step aside for a minute? Your horses are blocking the way..."

True too, our horse (or rather the horse Norman and Victoria) is now standing in front of the gate of this building.

Damn, these two couples are too focused on fighting to the point that they do not realize that their horse has blocked the road.

Why would I blame them both? Believe this. Spirits were arguably the furthest from the gate when compared to the three of us along with their respective horses.

"Oh, sorry. A moment, yeah." I said, though not sure I could stop the two men fighting.

"Fucking girl."

"Shrimp Tight!"

"Fucking girl."

"Shrimp Tight!"

"Fucking girl."

"Shrimp Tight!"

"Fucking girl."

"Shrimp Tight!"

"Can you stop fighting? You guys are blocking jal-" I said.

"SHUSH, KRISTOFF!!!"

"SHUSH, KRISTOFF!!!"

They had just had a fight a few seconds ago, and they were now compact enough to tell me to keep my mouth shut. Use Kristoff's name anyway...

They were compactly also looking at me cynically. Really you guys are, why don't you guys n-wait. They silent? My chance..

For a moment, point my finger at the girl who asked me for help. It managed to shift the eyes of the two of them who were at first sharp to me becoming more open to the girl earlier.

"I'm sorry, your horses are both blocking the way." he said.

They suddenly moved while pulling their horses to give way to the girl and some people who seemed to have been angry with them.

But why are they also glancing at me so sharply? I am not the one blocking the road...

"Sorry." Norman nodded his body.

"I'm sorry too..." Victoria followed Norman to do the same.

The behavior of these two humans really did a good job of making me pat my own eel. The girl next to me even laughed at the silly behavior of the two of them.

"Sorry about them, but be honest. Just tell me, I don't know who they are." I told the woman.

"Hehe, thank you." he said.

Tep. Tep. Tep.

The woman started walking towards the gate. Hadeh, just embarrassing...

"By the way, your hair's nice too..."

Huh huh?

That girl just whispered into my ear, and what she said was about my hair? I thought people would find it strange. I meani...

When Norman and Victoria saw my hair turn white a month ago, they saw me as a freak. Plus Uncle Victoria said I look like this old man with white hair.

But this girl said the white color of my hair was good? Interesting though...

If I think about it, the girl's hair isn't bad either. Brownish black, more or less the same as Christina used to be... At least before he

"Cie, someone fell in love apparently." said the man near me.

"I just found out you can fall in love too, Christopher..." Victoria was following along.

Just ruin the mood.

"At least I can understand your actions, Victoria. Remembering in your house there is no glass at all. But you, Norman? You really need a mirror." I told them.

"Huh? Is there something wrong with my hair?" tanyakanya.

"Not your hair, you idiot. But look at you guys! A few minutes ago you guys just had a fight like a couple." I said.

"We're not husband and wife!" exclaim Norman.

"We're not husband and wife!" exciting Victoria.

"Indeed not, because it hasn't." I replied.

Hadeh, why am I even talking about this. I mean, this front court is now completely deserted. What else are we waiting for here?

"That's it, you fuckers. Look around us. Wouldn't it be better to go inside soon?" I said.

"True too" said Victoria.

"Well, who's the last one in he's the last one to lose!" said Norman as he walked towards the gate.

"Hey, wait for me!" said Victoria.

The two of them rushed into the gate of this building. Leaving me who chose to walk in here.

Seeing these two people running around laughing all the way, it felt... Tranquilize. Really soothing. They can still smile like that when I start to forget how.

I can only hope they never lose that smile of happiness. Because that's...

I must grow stronger, by joining the Knights of Pensylon.
